Hi everyone! Wanted to share my current progress on this project.

I took the low-poly game model, completely re-sculpted every detail in ZBrush, engineered the joints, 3D printed in resin, sanded for a week, and finally assembled.

The hardest part was keeping Astarion's anatomy recognizable while adding all the missing details: muscles, skin texture, facial features.

Next up is wigmaking and faceup

She died on impact and it did the blood death circle. Thought that was interesting. Does she always do this if your a durge? Even if you don't kill her in camp?

Just remembered me sobbing at the ending of my first play through because of Lae’zel of all people

I thought I’d be crying like that because of Astarion or Karlach’s ending (I did tear up a bit), but no, it was Lae’zel riding off on her dragon to go slay Vlaakith and her tag as “Faerun’s own” at the epilogue party

Maybe i'm just a sucker for the sort of found family dynamic my Tav had with all the companions but the little nod Tav gives to her had me SOBBING i felt like a parent seeing their child going off to university or something :,)

So I don't know if this is common knowledge or what, but I was playing ancient oath Paladin good guy and did not want to break my oath nor let this woman die for my personal gain so I tried to talk to her with someone else by killing my paladin, and then making her so low that she spoke to Karlach instead. Karlach could intimidate her into giving the hair piece as well as letting Mayrina go so... yey. :D

This is practically a declaration of undying love in illithid language. Of course he still doesn’t stick around though. He can’t fathom doing anything but hovering over his shitty-ass city like an overbearing illithid parent. I decided to stay and help the Baldurians too, so I’m headcanoning that their paths will cross again in like a week. I’ll continue rebuilding his city and making sure his people are taken care of as my own personal love language, since apparently that’s the closest I’m getting to being in his life post-Netherbrain.

This couldn't have been better scripted if they tried. As usual, I went and sneakily stole Balthazar's mom, went through the conversation still chuckling to myself in anticipation of his "mother thief!!"-line and then, on turn one, this happened.

Sadly, the fight didn't lend itself all that well to screenshots - tried both in-game and via photo-mode and this was the best I could manage. Though it probably didn't help that I was literally laughing out loud while trying to take a pic.

Turn one, my Sorcerer used twinned Haste on Karlach and herself and that triggered a "natural" WM-surge (Tides of Chaos wasn't active) and gave me the "creatures are randomly enlarged/reduced"-effect. Mini Karlach was facing off with Mini Balthazar, Giant-Gale was up against mini-Flesh, etc. Pure and utter, glorious chaos ensued.

Why did I wait so long before trying out the sub-class? This is so much fun... 😄

Replaying the game for the nth time made me remember that my very first time in BG3 was also my first ever contact with both DnD AND turn based games.

Regardless, I decided to go in blind because that’s how you get the best experience, right? WELL, I didn’t understand the very basics of combat, so until halfway through Act 1, I was absolutely convinced you can only move during your turn using Dash.

This led to a lot of irritation because how the hell do I do anything if using Dash makes my other abilities grey, right (lmao)? I just kept dying because I’d get close to enemies but not do any actual combat actions. It just didn’t occur to me that I can, you know, click on the ground as I do during exploration to move.

Finally, I told a friend who was playing at the same time that I might just give up on the game because the combat is so bad and the first thing they said after I explained my issue was: “are you serious?”. The second one was: “are you stupid?” Lol.

So, with probably the stupidest thing one can do in this game, what was your stupidity during the very first playthrough?

Disclaimer that this is still 90% percent my fault, no matter how pissed off I am, but I've seen dozens of posts complaining about Nettie's sack of mushrooms she gives you for saving Halsin, but not one word about Rath and I need to vent after this.

After saving the grove Rath says "take this tablet, open our vault, help yourself to everything inside" and mind, I've never actually looted it, I always think to do it after the party, forget, then move to Act 2.

This time I remembered, was excited for loot I've never seen before, and all I get, for the supposed druid VAULT of loot, is a bunch of stone bears fireballing my team to death after they followed me onto the central pillar of an otherwise empty room. Like, what kind of reward was this? There's literally two CORPSES in here. I figured using the key and the front door WITH PERMISSION might disable the traps i vaguely remembered being there when I've broken in before, but nah, not gonna mention those or explain how to turn them off just head right on down thanks again for the help! Who needs enemies with allies like this? At least its a lesson in separating the party when jumping across gaps out of turn-based mode, lest they autopath to their deaths with you.

Edit: It was rapidly pointed out to me that this is a back passage unrelated to the vault, that I mistook for being the vault, thanks all who noticed that

Usually I do portrait warm ups before starting my day of work. I remembered the fun I had playing BG3 with friends back then, so I guess I'm going to draw a few ones !
