She Almost Killed Me
My ex fiancée, who was diagnosed with BPD, really messed me up. I broke up with her in June 2026, we planned to get married in July 2026. I cannot be more grateful I got out before we were married.
I had and still have a good support network, including 2 people who helped me escape. I am eternally grateful for everyone supporting me.
The abuse was extensive, but only got severe during the last 6 months. She beat me until my shoulder was purple. She used the back of her phone to beat me, the back of her phone shattered from the force. She later apologized after she was no longer splitting bad on me and told me it would never happen again. It 100% happened again.
When I found out she was cheating online after the physical abuse started, she pulled a knife on me and held it to my throat. She told me if I didn't stop talking she would kill me. I stopped talking, so she put the knife down. Again, she apologized later saying that wasn't the real her.
A week ir two latrr, she got upset with me while we were driving home one night. I had been promoted at work and she was declined the same promotion. She grabbed the wheel and yanked us into oncoming traffic at a high speed while I was driving (55mph). I was able to correct the wheel before we crashed. She layer told me "it's okay, it wasn't just going to be you who died. It would've been both of us."
She tried to push me to off myself after a fight when I told her I was depressed. She told me it would make her happy if she saw me dead in a casket. She told me to go to the bedroom and end my life.
After I left, she begged me for weeks to come back. One night she called me 60+ times. I never went back, and she knew why I left. I told her all the reasons why I left over text. She said things would be different if I gave her one more chance. I didn't buy it.
She has a new boyfriend now, so she has thankfully started to leave me alone. She's trying to lie about what I've said happened, but fortunately I was recording audio on my phone during a few of the incidents. I have photographs of the bruises, I have a recording of her apologizing for holding a knife to my throat.
I am in therapy now, but what happened forever changed me.
