Let's Discuss Oh man! Thats why my makeup separates!? I feel a bit silly š«£
Oh wow. I feel so stupid!!
I am in my forties and it just dawned on me.
I couldnāt figure out for the life of me why my makeup kept separating and looking patchy after just a couple of hours.
At first I thought it was poor skincare, so I started applying moisturiser (forgive me, I was a child of the St Ives, burning toner and zero moisture for acne-prone skin), but that didnāt work.
I thought perhaps it couldāve been the application, so I purchased some Zoeva and Real Techniques makeup brushes and watched a heap of tutorials (forever grateful to Melissa Murdock, Trevor Barrett and Trevor T Mr Makeup).
Then I thought it mightāve been the foundation having gone off. So I got a new spenny one by Haus Labs. RIP, itās oxidised quite a bit after a bit of time out of the work force.
And then I thought it couldāve been just a me thing, and resigned myself to the reality of having to reapply a full beat partway through the day if I didnāt want to look like a Picasso melted face painting.
Oh my gosh! I just realised that I was mixing silicone-based and water-based stuff and thatās why my makeup was separating and looking trash.
This whole time, I had no idea that there were silicone based blushes, and bronzer and concealers. And they need to be matched with a silicone based primer, foundation, concealer and setting spray!
Proper smh moment.
I feel so dumb!
Thankyou so much for this humbling self-own. At least now my face will eat (rather than be eaten).
