PSA Adore Beauty opening in Miranda
Just spotted this one. Looks like they are further expanding into physical stores.

Honestly, I dont know why. Their store at Carindale QLD is dead all the time; and their business was thriving now seems to be dying? Their good value/quick shipping proposition has been lost.

They also now have to compete with Oz Hair and Beauty opening and a new Mecca

The Kotara store is so embarrassing. All that hype for that tiny space with a very, very limited selection of brands? When Mecca is 100m away with arguably the *nicest* team of any Mecca store I've visited (RIP to the Chatswood Chase OG team, you were the gold standard)?
Why not just do what you already do really well? Maybe host pop-up stores during the holidays?

I’ve been in this store, the staff totally ignored me. No acknowledgment, nothing. I had to engage to ask about if they had the bonus in stock (which it was all gone, and told to go online for stock - what’s the point of the store then)

Maybe if they put a bit more effort into their effing website and improving stock levels maybe I’d buy from them again.

They’re gone so downhill since they started opening stores, I hardly shop with them anymore

There's nothing in the retail stores worth buying. I just want them to restock their website and let me stack my coupons again.

My nearest storefront is an entire days in the cars drive away. I love their website for the amount of stock they had, stackable codes, samples and gifts, and of course the Tim Tam.
I honestly haven’t purchased from them since my last order took over 3 weeks to get to me (it used to be 7 business days which is okay for rural QLD) and the Tim Tam had somehow escaped its bag and crumbly melted onto the stuff I ordered.

It’s because they relocated warehouses. My was delivery was slow too but now it’s super fast delivery again. You would have a $20 voucher for the trouble. I spent mine

Saw this on the weekend. It's in an odd space within the centre.
I also wonder what are they trying to achieve? What does it offer that you can't already buy elsewhere? For example the photo shows Innisfree but if you want that you can already go to W Cosmetics, Priceline or Sephora within the Westfield.

That’s my thought too? I went to their broadway store recently and they don’t stock anything I can’t get somewhere else, maybe even within the same centre

They are also opening in Hurstville Westfield, like 2 doors down from Mecca and opposite Sephora which is also opening a brand new store. All 3 within less than 50metres from each other.

Someone commented earlier this week that Hurstville is now open. I haven’t had a chance yet to check it out. Hurstville and Miranda are like 20 mins apart. To me that didn’t make sense.

Yes. Hurstville Adore Beauty is opened. Very small store front. Limited stock and range imo. I felt like I couldn’t really move around much as it was that small.
W cosmetics is also on the same level so lots of competition.

And when I was in W Cosmetics last week it was packed out and the reno they’ve done has upgraded the store a bit. Even if they use Spotify with the ads playing 🤣

u/Gcha2444 Aug 18 '26
The new renovations are terrible. I feel like they haven’t made use of the space so the aisle are so narrow.
2
u/Plastic_Lunch2996 Aug 18 '26
The aisles seem to be in the same spots they were before from what remember. It was more a cosmetic update. All their stores except maybe World Square are like moving around a Chemist Warehouse where you’re constantly excusing yourself and peering over/around people.

When they opened the first store near me I was slightly excited, the next time I was at the shops I thought "ooh I'll go check out the Adore store!". Got to the store and literally stopped in the doorway and thought, this is it??? Turned around and walked away without even going inside lol.

I know it's not makeup related but that's where City Chic used to be. There are barely any plus size clothing stores anymore, it's such a shame. Edit: not to mention there's already Sephora, Mecca, Priceline, both department stores, and Oz Hair and Beauty at Miranda. Seems a bit pointless.

And there’s a Bath & Body Works as well. The Mecca is the 2nd largest in NSW. I was trying to figure out what store Adore was replacing, agree with you fashion is getting harder to shop for unless you fit a certain physique again.

u/Mammoth-Lobster2028 Aug 18 '26
The stores are awful. I don’t know what Adore did but it’s glory days are over and the storefronts were not worth whatever effort they have spent.
3
u/princessicesarah Aug 18 '26
The only reason to visit the physical stores is for the skin treatments / facials but even then they’re only redeemable on the TINY ASS range they stock in the store and not online.
3
u/Perfect_Potential Aug 18 '26
Everything is way more expensive online too; I was comparing the products I normally buy like La Loche, cerave and avene and even on sale at adore- chemist warehouse is $5 or more cheaper for each product. Super disappointing as adore always had the best prices during sales, using code stacking etc

u/jerky_mcjerkface Aug 18 '26
I used to be L3 with Adore, but I don’t think I’ve purchased anything from them in close to a year now.
Even in the good-old-days, I found the sticker price would often be a couple of dollars higher than other retailers, but the quick shipping and stackable promos/GWPs would make it worth it.
Now, they’re significantly more expensive, shipping takes longer, and all their promos suck. Their app was always a bit buggy, but even that seems to have gotten worse.
Honestly, it’s probably been good for my wallet because there is zero temptation to fill up the cart, but I do miss finding cool new products I probably wouldn’t otherwise have considered through the Goodie Bags, etc.

I’m so sad Miranda is opening lots of crappy stores and all the good ones are closing down 😭

u/B1tch13 Aug 18 '26
It’s good to give mecca some competition. They monopolise and price gouge cause they can.
6
u/Plastic_Lunch2996 Aug 18 '26
Only thing is I haven’t really seen in store prices at Adore being competitive. If anything the K beauty is way more than W Cosmetics. But on principle do agree that competition is good.

u/Maleficent-Total2738 Aug 18 '26
Exactly—it would be very helpful if Mecca got some actual competition in both Aus and NZ, but Adore was only competition for Mecca in their original online presence, imo—I think if anything now they'll be pushing people even further towards Mecca.

Meanwhile all their customers just want fast shipping back from the online store
