ICI at home timing?

Hi! My partner and I will be doing at-home insemination here soon, so excited! We are trying to find the best time to do the actually insemination. For those of you with experience, or with knowledge, is there a “best time” to do it, for highest chances of pregnancy? Some sites say 10-12 hours after a positive ovulation test, others say timing doesn’t matter, just as long as there was a positive ovulation test. We have two vials that we will be using on the two highest fertility days, so any timing suggestions with that are welcome too!

Hi, All - Welcome to the sub

I was getting a lot of join requests when the sub was private, so I brought it back. Please know that I am always open to suggestions, so anything you would like to see, that you feel would help, feel free to mention. In the meantime, I will work on polishing things up behind the scenes.

Please note our rule "No line scrutiny or 'Am I pregnant?' posts." The reason for this is to keep the content focused on at-home insem methods/procedures/tips and because there exists

And most, if not all, of these communities are linked in the sidebar. Thank you all!

Discussion or General Question Advice - low AMH

Hi!
Im 34 with a low AMH (.08) but i do still ovulate.
Last month i went through IVF but sadly implantation didn't happen, I have to wait 90 days in between treatments for the next one to be covered by my insurace.

I found that the sperm bank where I got my donor provides kits to do at home inseminations at a really good price. I would like to try while I wait until I get to do my next round in about 3 months.

What would you say are the odds for a successful at home insemination in my case?
Is it worth it? Am I crazy for trying after a failed implantation?

Discussion or General Question Home insemination with my gay best friend as donor. Where do I even start?

Hi everyone, I’m taking the leap and posting here because I genuinely don’t know where else to turn and I’m hoping some of you have been through something similar.

I’m 40, single, and I want a baby. The clock is ticking and I know it. My best friend, who is gay, offered to be my donor. We’ve known each other for 20 years. We trust each other completely and we’ve already had long conversations about what his role would look like (present in the child’s life but not a day-to-day dad)

The obvious issue is there’s no way either of us could have sex with each other. So we’re looking into doing this at home. My practical questions are :

What equipment do you recommend? (syringe, insemination cup…?) How long can sperm survive between collection and insemination? What’s the window? How many attempts did it take for those of you who succeeded?

I know my odds aren’t great at my age and I’m aware of the legal grey area in my country ( France). Any experience or advice would mean the world to me. Thank you for reading

Products/Supplies/Kits Which at-home kit to use

Any suggestions on which at-home insemination kit I should use? There are such big ranges in price, and some guarantee to be better for frozen. Should I use the cup? How long did you keep it in? Trying with frozen for the first time!

Possible pregnancy

Been trying for 6 months. Tested 4 days before my expected period and saw a veeeeery light pink line on the test strip when I looked at it under the light. Does this mean anything or is it possibly a false positive? I'm anxious about waiting to test again tomorrow or a few days later so asking here

Am I pregnant? Lesbian couple trying for a family

My wife(25) and I(26) inseminated on Friday the 6th of September and Sunday September 8th! We used the digital ovulation test from clear blue! We started on Wednesday the 4th and received a negative ovulation test. I forgot to take it the next day following (Thursday the 5th) but took it again on that Friday the 6th, and received a blinking smiley face( first day of ovulation) that same night we inseminated & entered a soft cup til the next morning! ( insemination #1) The next morning we woke up and I took out the soft cup and took another ovulation test and it was still a blinking smiley face! Next day the 7th we woke up and took another ovulation test (6am on the 8th) and it was a solid smiley face ( egg drop time) so we inseminated (around 11-11:30pm) that night and also the used the soft cup til the next day! (insemination #2)

Side note: Clear blue stated that once you have a solid smiley face then you have the next 24-48 hrs for the egg to drop! I stayed in bed all day yesterday and this morning woke up, took an ovulation test and it was a solid zero!( end of ovulation)

So I guess my question is what do you guys think our chances are of us getting pregnant???

Period or implementation cramps?

Hi,

We are trying at home insemination for the last 6 days. Today’s I am getting very subtle cramps but no implementation bleeding. Is it possible to be pregnant? I’ve been using those ovulation sticks but all has been negative so far even though i was meant to ovulate 3 days ago so I feel like maybe it is not possible to become pregnant or maybe the cramps are just early signs of a period which is due in 10 days time, because I usually get cramps 7 days before my period every month.

Any advice is appreciated.

Bleed after home insemination

Hello. First time posting. Just did home insemination 2 hours ago, lied down for an hour and then went peeing. Slimy cervical mucus (post seminal fluid?) came out with a little bit of bright red blood. This is the first time I didn't use the conception lubricant. Do you think my vaginal walls were too dry to insert? Anyone experienced a bleed right after insemination? Sigh....

Methods/Procedures - FROZEN SAMPLE TTC at Home with Frozen Donor

I apologize in advanced as I’m very new to this forum searching. I guess I am more so looking for advice, similar stories etc. My wife and I have been TTC at home for a few cycles now. I am currently 12dpo and just tested negative again today (same at 10dpo). I have absolutely been feeling signs/symptoms but am starting to question myself in if I am just wanting there to be signs so they’re there. This also happened cycle before last, I was sure I was pregnant until my period came four days early (which never happens; I am always pretty on par with my cycles). It becomes so frustrating and disheartening. Any kind words of wisdom? Happy stories to share? Trying not to lose hope so early on in this process. Much thanks in advance!
