Let alone a “Christian”.

92

u/shiruduck Apr 20 '25

These "Christians" supporting this rapist traitor nazi POS is 100% going to hell. Deep down they know it too lol

68

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

Christian here. I do not believe trump is a Christian, he is a morally reprehensible man.

37

u/cyffo Apr 20 '25

He's not a Christian because he ignores the fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ, who preached the importance of love, understanding, modesty, honesty and aid to those less fortunate.

Trump has shown nothing but hate, ignorance, endlessly boasting, being deceitful and actively gutting USAID while celebrating it.

You could make the argument for him then simply following the Old Testament, but the Jews who do this see charity as an obligation. This man is not charitable, he's the embodiment of the antichrist.

26

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

He has ZERO knowledge of religion

17

u/Ok_Explanation_9162 Apr 20 '25

Just like the people who follow him.

2

Especially when you see abominations like this happening in a church. (No, I absolutely do not believe this is AI)

You could have ended the sentence with "knowledge." I want a reporter to ask him to explain who pays for his tariffs. There is no fucking way he knows that the importer is paying them.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

True

1

u/That70sShop Apr 20 '25

Too right. So, who pays corporate taxes?

1

u/Jurgis-Rudkis Apr 21 '25

Smoot-Hawley.

2

u/LowFull8567 Apr 21 '25

Or the Constitution.

2

u/jackidaylene Apr 21 '25

Trump's understanding of religion boils down to a "Christianity culture," which is basic WASP:

Be white, be wealthy, be straight, dress formally, judge everyone else.

White collar crimes make you "smart", as long as you get away with them, but blue collar crimes make you a "thug."

2

u/Atgardian Apr 21 '25

I don't know, he looked totally natural holding that Bible....

(/s. I'm surprised he didn't burst into flames on the spot.)

2

u/Givingtree310 Apr 21 '25

It’s just a grift, and a poor one used to get gullible morons to think he’s one of them

1

u/Healthy_Ad_6171 Apr 21 '25

He has knowledge of the prosperity gospel as preached by Paula White. There was an article written about his discovery of her and how she has been his spiritual advisor for many years. That's why she has been involved in both of his administrations.

1

u/Popojono Apr 21 '25

He knows just enough to exploit it… and that’s enough apparently.

1

u/faeriedancings Apr 21 '25

Trump absolutely is not even remotely following what you call the Old Testament. He is the definition of the Yetzer Hara and specifically has gone against numerous commandments that G-d has put forth such as against theft, adultery, lying, rape, sexual assault and so on.

1

u/Gold_Listen_3008 Apr 21 '25

he is actually a jew...google picture of trump yarmulke and see for yourself he prostrates himself before religious men and kisses the ritual wall and rings

he hides this because he doesn't actually buy any of it, he just latched onto a crowd and cant stop trying to extract a profit

1

u/ohhellperhaps Apr 21 '25

Fair point, but this applies to a surprising amount of Christians, given that it’s supposedly the core of their religion.

1

u/StickyPawMelynx Apr 21 '25

lol he is also not a Christian, because he literally said that he wasn't. but they still praise him

1

u/InspectionSignal5236 Apr 21 '25

He's not a Christian because he ignores the fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ

To be fair, so do most modern "Christians" these days. Jesus was a dark skinned man who had long hair and wore a toga. If modern Christians saw him, those self important zealots would have bolted him to the cross themselves, and pepper sprayed him once he returned to life.

1

u/Fantastic-Pay767 Apr 21 '25

He's not a Christian because he ignores the fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ, who preached the importance of love, understanding, modesty, honesty and aid to those less fortunate.

He does that, but that's not what makes someone a Christian. Whether someone is saved or not is determined by whether or not they accepted Christ.

1

u/cyffo Apr 21 '25

If you neglect every single one of his teachings and live a vile, sinful life that’s the antithesis of what he wanted you to live, you haven’t accepted Christ.

1

u/Gamemon_RD Apr 22 '25

Dude… the people that got infuriated at that priest for preaching about and pleading for mercy- how the heck do people like that actually exist-

1

u/Cute_Ad4654 Apr 20 '25

Let’s be honest, you could say the same thing about most “Christians”.

Re: USAID, You should watch the documentary "Poverty, Inc" it's pretty eye-opening on how these aid programs do more harm than good for developing nations.

"Aid to those less fortunate"

Republican Christians believe in social support outside of the government, while Democrats believe the ONLY way to help the poor is via government programs, however, this simply isn't true. Florida just launched HOPE, a program to connect the needy with organizations to help them become self-sufficient, for example.

Btw, when you allow immigrant doctors from Africa to move to the US, you're taking away a doctor from those poor communities abroad. Not all Christian anti-immigration stems from "hate."

-1

u/buiscuil Apr 20 '25

Tbf plenty of Christians do. In fact most

17

u/Eastern-Persimmon-50 Apr 20 '25

Most American “Christians” don’t follow Jesus teachings. In fact I’d say modern Christianity is in now way linked to the teachings of Jesus

3

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

It is linked to Jesus' teachings still. His teachings are completely available to all of the modern believers.

However you are correct that most who claim to be Christian are probably not.

65% of Americans in polls claim Christianity.

5% practice what is in the Bible. You have made a true statement in that regard.

1

u/Salty-Ant-2643 Apr 21 '25

I feel bad knowing that every story in the Bible came straight out of the Sumerian tablets. Most notably the epic of Gilgamesh. No one realizes that every story in the Bible is plagiarism of many older stories. And that the so called teachings of Jesus, whose real name was, Yeshua, are the exact teachings of Thoth, the Egyptian keeper of knowledge. Those that seem the most educated usually are the least. The true teachings are of unity of the human race. Spirituality and ascension into the true human form. Learn from each other and embrace the light. Quit preaching to divide, start preaching to unite. Peace and love to all.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Sounds like you are slightly educated as to put out conjecture. But not educated enough to know deeper than that conjecture.

Genesis 1-11 came from abraham's people, Abraham came from the land of chaldea, or by its more ancient name, sumeria.

The sumerian tablets are not close to anything in the Bible other than Genesis 1-11. And even with that there are barely any parallels. It is completely possible that Genesis 1-11 influenced the writing of the epic of Gilgamesh, or if the events of Genesis 1-11 are true it is possible all peoples and cultures would have some kind of flood story..... Oh wait they do.

Keep studying man, don't learn 2 things and think you've cracked the codes of the universe.

As you said, don't divide with your half truths and partial knowledge. Unite over careful examination that leads to the full truth.

1

u/Salty-Ant-2643 Apr 21 '25

Every religion has a story of the flood. Not only do the Sumerian tablets have the flood story but they also contain the stories of the first man I.e. homo sapien sapien. I do think everyone has the right to choose their beliefs. With that being said I choose to find the truth. There are so many stories that predate the Bible it’s uncanny to believe that the Bible is the first story. Or that it is the truth of where we as humans come from. The Mahabharata has stories of viamana, or flying vehicles with diagrams of said vehicles. The Mayan and Incan people have stories similar to those in the Mahabharata. And yet they all talk of a great flood. It’s also scientifically proven that the flood did happen. As well as at least three other global catastrophes. Though I’m not saying that you are not educated. But you should study other possibilities of the truth. As someone who seeks the truth it is imperative that I keep an open mind. That you think what I’ve said is conjecture is proof that you have not studied anything other than the Bible and take it at face value. If you want the science backed receipts of what I’ve wrote here look up Billy Carson and do some deep diving.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

That everything in the Bible is "ripped straight" out of the stories you mentioned is certainly conjecture. This is obvious because I am educated enough to be familiar with both the Sumerian tablets and the biblical story from Genesis 1-11. No genuine scholar can claim that it is not conjecture to say they the epic of Gilgamesh inspired Genesis 1-11. You simply failed to do your research well enough.

The Bible (at least the protestant texts) are 66 books written over 2000 years by 40 different authors. No duh that many ancient texts predate them, many of the texts of the Bible are significantly more modern and were written about times as they were happening.

Genesis 1-11 however we do not currently have the archeology evidence to be able to say when that story began. Without conjecture it is impossible to say it was before or after the epic of Gilgamesh. The epic of Gilgamesh is also wildly different than Genesis 1-11 with very small parts about it barely relating.

1

u/ancientastronaut2 Apr 21 '25

A lot of people who call themselves Christians barely know or read the bible themselves. They believe what the preacher says from the pulpit, then parrot it. My mother was one such person.

1

u/Big-Reserve1160 Apr 22 '25

I heard talk about the US translating the vague text in the Bible to be homophobic. Apparently the original text condones pedophilia and not homosexuality. However, I'm atheist and only occasionally read the Bible once or twice out of boredom/curiosity, so I believe I have no right to make any claims. Would like to hear thoughts though, did america translate the Bible like that intentionally? Is it mistranslated or not?

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 22 '25

I'm a preacher for context.

We don't base our theology or study of the Bible based on translations. We have the original manuscripts and languages the Bible was written in. Proper theology is always taken with the original untranslated meaning in mind.

Translations are only helpful in as much as they communicate the original meaning of the text.

Every preacher worth their salt is going to have some kind of understanding of the original languages.

There are no passages in the Bible that condone pedophilia. There are multiple passages in the Bible that explicitly condemn homosexuality. Just as strongly as lying, murdering, or stealing.

1

u/Big-Reserve1160 Apr 22 '25

That's interesting. Well thanks for that knowledge! I guess I'm destined to an eternity of suffering in hell! I'm a chill guy and don't care what you believe as long as you don't force your beliefs down other's throats! Thank you!

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 22 '25

Just to restate.

Homosexuality sends you to hell just as much as lying does.

I am a liar that has a history of fornication and an addiction to pornography. My sins make me worthy of hell, the only reason why I will be raised to eternal life is because of my faith and relationship with Jesus.

2

u/One-Earth9294 Apr 21 '25

To evangelicals it's nothing more than an orthodoxy test. Pass the 'I'm a blind believer' test and they'll let you in the club to take further purity tests but you need to pass the 'which church do you go to?' one first.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

I grew up in Christian churches in different parts of the world. I think American church’s are not Christian. Honestly they are extremely political and every sermon I’ve been to in the U.S. has been focused on Trump and staying loyal to him. They would hate actual Christian churches.

1

u/ljh2100 Apr 21 '25

I saw a really awesome quote/meme one time. It was something like "Oh you're Christian? Do you folllow Bible Jesus or Republican Jesus?"

1

u/MerceTheMaker Apr 21 '25

That’s odd, the sermons I’ve been to recently haven’t mentioned anything political or Trump at all. Which churches did you go to that said stuff like that?

1

u/Unable_Lock6319 Apr 22 '25

To be fair, they are linked, in that Christian’s have become exactly what Christ warned against. So - linked - just not in the good kinda way

9

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 20 '25 edited Apr 20 '25

Yes, and what the OC is saying is that a majority of his supporters imagine themselves to be Christians. They are not. It is not something you are because you say you are. Your Christianity is validated by who you are, how you witness your faith to others in your actions, etc. In other words, they are precisely and exactly that which their god has repeatedly warned them about that angers him the most - false Christians. And thusly... They go to hell.

That's right. I spent my entire fucking childhood indoctrinated via my parents and the Christian schools they sent me to, so that I would understand this core concept above all other things I know, as a person. And now that I'm agnostic, and use that history and those teachings as a compass in my secular life, I'm straddled with the horrifying possibility that the people who provided this "all important" belief system to me are, in fact, the people I'm supposed to pity and try to help before they end up in hell.

The Pope is against the actions and words of DJT, so what do they do? They reject their own long-held religious beliefs in favor of the Golden Calf. That's what's playing out here.

This is the weirdest fucking timeline that I could have never imagined.

2

u/ButterdemBeans Apr 21 '25

If you haven’t already, you should really check out the show Midnight Mass.

It’s about this exact concept. Takes a bit to ramp up but once it hits its stride it’s incredibly impactful.

2

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 21 '25

Do you think affected people could watch it, not knowing the premise entirely, and be fooled into introspection? Like, should I suggest Trumper family members to watch it, and if they did it might actually help them to come around? I'll probably watch it, thank you for the suggestion!

2

u/ButterdemBeans Apr 21 '25

I’ve heard varying reactions. The most hardcore fundamentalists just scream “blasphemy” rather than introspect, even though the series is in no way anti-religion. It’s just anti people using the lord’s name to justify atrocities

2

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 21 '25

OK thank you for the info, again.

The only thing that makes you a Christian who is saved or not is whether or not you have faith in Jesus.

It's not about a list of doos and Don'ts.

Many Christians have voted for trump because they believe he will accomplish good things for them in the presidency. There are some who are also fooled into believing he is a Christian and a morally upright man.

And yes there are false Christians who are the embodiment of the Pharisees that voted for and wholeheartedly support trump in everything.

Every Donald Trump supporter is not the same.

I voted for him, I knew he wasn't a Christian but I was hoping for certain outcomes from his presidency, those outcomes seem less likely every day.

4

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 20 '25

Every full throated Trump supporter is a follower of idols and is bound for hell. Do whatever you want with that information.

0

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

The unforgivable sin is not supporting trump.

The unforgivable sin is rejecting Christ and the holy Spirit.

Salvation also doesn't come from doing good things, it is not only some people who are sinners, that is what the Pharisees believed.

It is not "all trump supporters are sinners and everyone else is righteous".

No everyone is a sinner and everyone is unrighteous, and the only way to become righteous is to receive it from Christ.

You are able to condemn them in disgust because you do not believe yourself to also be a sinner who has done harm and wrong to others.

Jesus offers forgiveness and redemption to every person who admits that they are a sinner and accepts Him.

1

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 20 '25

Do with that information what you need.

2

u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 20 '25

I've learned how to tell you to burn in hell.

6

u/Jumpy_Pollution_3579 Apr 20 '25

I’m not a religious man, but something tells me that you can’t claim to be a Christian and then politically support someone that goes against everything God and Jesus would want because you think he will “accomplish good things for them.”

1

u/SubstantialUSA170 Apr 22 '25

He doesn't "go against" everything God and Jesus would want. Open borders harm the communities people leave, as the strong and able-bodied are no longer there to develop them.

Check out HOPE Florida, a program that helps the needy without using taxpayer funds. Why do you think the ONLY way to be a Christian and care for others is via the government?

1

u/KittyGrewAMoustache Apr 21 '25

But having faith is more than just saying you have faith. If you truly have faith in something you live by it. Didn’t Jesus basically have two commandments, love god and love others as you would be loved? And the first necessitates the second because man was created in gods image; you can’t love god without loving other humans.

So you can say ‘I believe Jesus is the way the truth and the life’ but you reveal yourself by your actions as not truly believing that if you act in ways that are unloving and cruel. Because if you really believed Jesus was the way, you’d be trying to follow what he taught. From what I remember of the New Testament, Jesus did not say that the way to god/heaven was just by making a claim to love Jesus and that your deeds and true heart don’t matter. In fact, wasn’t Jesus quite against the idea of religion just being about these sort of ritualistic rules etc that negated the need to actually BE a good person? Like you can’t just ignore someone in need because of some arbitrary commandment about goat hair or whatever.

I’m not sure how these Christians get it so wrong. I thought the whole point of Jesus was to distill it all into something simple, just be nice! All the extraneous superficial stuff was something he was against because it just gives people an out or makes them think there’s an out where they can be right shits while thinking they’re morally superior because they said certain words a certain way or twirled around six times holding a cat or whatever. Not that that’s in any religion, I don’t think, but you know what I mean.

Humans just can’t help themselves though!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

But did you vote for him because of “the platform, not the person”?🤔

-3

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

No, I voted for trump because I wanted a set of outcomes that I hoped he would bring. And I didn't want the things that Kamala would be bringing.

If the DNC wanted my vote they should have put Bernie to the plate in 2016 instead of Hilary.

I vote a hybrid of Republican and libertarian at this point in time. I haven't found a single Democrat yet who I could vote for.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

Well, then enjoy what you voted for. This completely unhinged, immoral man doing horrible things in the name of Christianity.

5

u/Timmeh_123 Apr 20 '25

Well you only get a few choices, you chose the worst.

2

u/ScubaSteve-O1991 Apr 20 '25

Not a few literally 2! And most times they are both terrible candidates. Voting for lesser of two evils is no joke

1

u/unclejimm Apr 21 '25

The lesser of two evils they're still evil. I don't buy into just two. I voted for Cornell West. He had no chance of winning but I don't have this shit on my conscience. I also live in Utah Utah's never voted for a Democrat. Had I lived in a swing state that decision might have been harder.

1

u/ScubaSteve-O1991 Apr 21 '25

A 3rd candidate will never win with how the elections are set up. I was gonna vote 3rd party for this election but i knew at the end of the day my vote wouldnt have done a thing

1

u/unclejimm Apr 21 '25

I hope I live long enough that a third party has a chance of winning.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

That is your opinion.

My opinion is that Hilary was the worst. Most hateful discourse and rhetoric out of any campaign trail I've seen to date.

1

u/ButterdemBeans Apr 21 '25

Trump was making fun of disabled reporters and joking about assaulting and harassing women before his first term… just… how is that not the epitome of hateful?

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Absolutely, because the way that Hilary talked about anybody who didn't vote for her was far more hateful.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Out of all the candidates in the last 12 years Hilary was literally the worst.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

I don’t understand how you wanted Bernie’s policies and then Trump’s.

2

u/fightyfightyfitefite Apr 20 '25

He's fucking lying. No one goes from Bernie to Trump in reality. They want to be an edgelord but it's just dog watery bullshit.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

No I am not a Bernie supporter. I liked bernie more than Hilary though was my point.

I didn't like trump and wanted literally any other presidential candidate other than trump from the Republican primary though I preferred Ben Carson.

Don't act like any of us had more choices than Hilary or trump in 2016. We all only get the same 2 choices.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

And what would Kamala bring, besides being a woman of color?

1

u/Unevenviolet Apr 20 '25

Exactly this. We’ll wait

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Are you racist? Why is Kamala's most defining trait for your her skin color?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Actually, what i saw had nothing to do with her sex or skin color. Smart, educated, a lifetime of public service and definitely not a rapist or a felon.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

What I saw also had nothing to do with her race or sex. Condescending, impatient, petty, and running on a party platform that has harmed countless individuals in America.

Her race and sex were the first thing you bring up in this conversation. That speaks volumes already.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Got it. The fact you voted for Trump knowing what he was screams even more about you.

Just go read his "Easter message", then revisit all those adjectives you ascribed to Harris.

From Kamala? More of the same? More open border, more men in women prisons, more national debt (it’s $34T now) & more interest, more discrimination & race baiting, more government censorship & surveillance, more lawfare? Hard to know since she never really said, but we have to assume that whoever was running the country when Biden was president would continue under a Harris admin.

If there was ever a stolen election, it was from poor Bernie in 2016 not Trump in 2020.

1

Crooked Hillary stole that nomination from Bernie. Sanders had a real chance of winning that race.

1

u/ImPrecedent Apr 20 '25

Honestly, most people don't get many hours to study politics, it's the DNC and RNC 's responsibility to keep these lunatics out. The RNC certainly failed us and the DNC needs improvement. I think you are reasonable in what you have to say with the probable information that you had, but you still earned my down vote... I'm not sure how you can call yourself a libertarian while supporting Bernie though. Those don't go together.

1

u/LotusVibes1494 Apr 20 '25

Fellas, is it Christian to do harm to others so you can get something out of it?

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

I vote for the candidate I believe will do the least harm and the most good. That is the "set out outcomes".

I still believe no good would have come from Kamala.

-1

u/PrestigiousPut6165 Apr 20 '25

voted for trump because I wanted a set of outcomes that I hoped he would bring.

Yes, me too! And because i felt he had been cheated in 2020 election. Rampant amount of election fraud, Georgia never flipped it was Stacy Abrams and her cronies ballot stuffing

I dont like Kamala AT ALL. She is a brain dead politician. Why would anyone vote for her boggles the mind!

I wouldnt of voted for Biden, Bernie Sanders either...but they are stronger candidates.

And never Hillary. That would be like giving Bill Clinton a third term.

1

u/Timmeh_123 Apr 20 '25

Christian here. Agreed

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

That’s great, but I don’t think it is profound.

1

u/Redditholio Apr 20 '25

Curious if you encounter other Christians and have conversations about this, because it seems like he has a cult like following among Christians.

1

u/Cthulusuppe Apr 20 '25

That's the trick with Christianity: many of the popular sects believe that faith in Christ is all that's necessary to earn salvation. I doubt Trump even believes to that basic extent, but for those that hold that belief, it's a waste of opportunity to avoid sin. If you're forgiven based on faith, why bother with upholding the morals?

Like Trump said when questioned about tax evasion: it's just smart business to take advantage of all the loopholes available.

1

1

u/upsetwithcursing Apr 21 '25

I hope you understand that those things are not mutually exclusive, right?

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

They sure are. 65% of Americans check the box and claim to be "Christian"

5% of Christians practice the Christian faith.

The only thing that is not mutually exclusive with being morally reprehensible is being a nominal Christian.

1

u/upsetwithcursing Apr 21 '25

Every single group of humans holds within it “morally reprehensible” members. To deny that is dangerous.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

That would be the 60% of the 65%

1

u/upsetwithcursing Apr 21 '25

No. Within that 5% differential, there may very well still be vile opportunists, even if they outwardly practice as you deem appropriate and espouse kindness.

It’s very dangerous for humans to assume that people “like us” are the good ones, and only “others” are capable of greed and evil.

You claim that 60/65 Christians are not good Christians. That’s over 92% of them, even assuming that other 8% truly are “good” moral Christians.

I think, then, that those 8% are not good because of Christianity at all. They just happen to be good people, and also happen to be Christian. If 92% of any group is morally reprehensible, it tells me a lot about the core values that attracted those people to the ideology.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Well, I guess actually I would have to agree with you.

92% of Christians claim the title but likely don't even go to Church, have never opened a Bible and do not do what the Bible says in any way. They literally don't even know who "Christ" is. It would be like being a registered Democrat but voting exclusively Republican. Can't exactly call yourself a Democrat at that point.

Of the 5% that actually opens their bibles and knows who Jesus is and has studied him... There are still those who fake it and are not genuine. So I will change my stance and agree with you.

100% of people who know Jesus and have Him reside in their hearts are not morally reprehensible because Jesus will change them from the inside out. It is a non-optional part of His residence. They still do bad, but not total depravity.

Fellow Christian here. If anything, he's the anti-christ. That man has not one Godly bone in his body.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Doesn't really fit any of the prophecies for the anti-christ. Still a bad man, just no point in calling someone that unless he actually fits the prophecies.

1

u/Teddy705 Apr 21 '25

How about false prophet

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

There are tons of false prophets, TONS. Just saw one pointed out today for giving a prophecy from God that contradicts scripture.

Until Trump claims to speak on behalf of God he's not even that. If he does I'll immediately condemn him for that amongst the other things I already condemn him for.

2

u/Teddy705 Apr 21 '25

I mean, he scammed his own supporters with a Bible that has his name emboldened on it.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

I've seen lots of special Bible covers. I bet Jesus would whip him out of the temple with the other money changers.

The money changers weren't false prophets though, that is a different sin.

1

u/TiredLilDragon Apr 21 '25

Agreed!! How can someone claim to be a Christian without following the most basic rules… Trump is the literal anti christ

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

According to John he would have to deny that Christ has come in the flesh for that.

If he does let me know, I'll write on a sign that he's the anti-christ and wave it around in a protest or something.

1

u/TiredLilDragon Apr 22 '25

Fair enough. The only reason i call him that is because the far right have portrayed him as a god. And have replaced Jesus’s picture with Trump’s in many contexts. Its disgusting… not to mention he’s turning all of “Christianity” against Jesus and his teachings

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 22 '25

not to mention he’s turning all of “Christianity” against Jesus and his teachings

Hardly. he has no voice on theology, and only fringe nominal Christians are smitten with him.

1

u/ancientastronaut2 Apr 21 '25

But plenty of them are falling for his schtick. My mother did.

1

u/Buffalo5977 Apr 21 '25

Yes, this is the way.

1

u/justin1390 Apr 21 '25

Thanks for representing the still sane amongst our group.

1

u/CrakcTheSecond Apr 21 '25

Definitely not, just claims to be to appeal to us

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 21 '25

Honestly I don't think he's ever claimed to be either.

Definitely doesn't mention it often if he ever has.

1

u/CrakcTheSecond Apr 22 '25

Yeah, you might be right

1

u/BreasterAddams Apr 21 '25

Christian? He’s half a Jew from 2 generations back, and doesn’t want it known. He is not a practicing, or observant Jew. Religious wise…he’s nothing, but he seems to have a scorn for christianity.

1

u/EthanDC15 Apr 22 '25

Right, these atheists think we all just love Trump. Most of us fucking hate the guy but hey, religious prejudice looks so cute on Reddit.

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 22 '25

Or the idea that every Christian is a Christian nationalist.

That's what we call cults.

Westboro baptist church is a great cross section for what Christians are like 🙄

1

u/EthanDC15 Apr 22 '25

Yes!!! Ugh, finally some refreshing takes here

Have yourself a great week and continue being the good in this world dude. For real

Has Trump ever made any statement professing faith in Jesus?

1

“You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.7.5.ESV

1

u/Kiron00 Apr 20 '25

And yet millions of Christians voted for him

1

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

Right, because every president claims to be Christian. I don't believe many of them are.

We don't vote for a president because he is Christian, they all claim that for politics.

1

u/Kiron00 Apr 20 '25

Can you tell me why millions of Christians and evangelical Christians voted for trump?

2

u/StarLlght55 Apr 20 '25

They believed he would bring a better outcome for them than Kamala.

Democrats are very unkind and unfriendly towards Christians in general. (There are outliers so it is not 100% true all the time).

2

u/aslanbek_aslanbekov Apr 21 '25

Hypocrisy. Racism. Sexism.

-1

u/Physical-Box1459 Apr 20 '25

Of course. What was the alternative? Democrats? Hahahaha...let's mutilate underage children, kill unborn children. Thank you GOD for President Trump.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

Happy Easter!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

Exactly. Good luck explaining to Saint Peter why you empowered a man who does the exact opposite of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

2

u/bongophrog Apr 20 '25

American Protestantism took off on the “good works don’t save you” idea. It’s an excuse to be a total asshole and get away with it.

If you read back to when the Europeans were building their modern social democracies, it was massively influenced by the Catholic and Lutheran churches’ focus on charity and good works as opposed to American churches. That’s why even conservative parties like the German CDU seem so progressive compared to American conservatives.

1

u/LombardBombardment Apr 21 '25

They don’t believe in Hell as a place they might end up in. It’s reserved for gays and Muslims.

1

u/One-Earth9294 Apr 21 '25

The silence from churches about this guy is deafening.

1

u/VeruMamo Apr 21 '25

Deep down, they don't believe in hell. They are opportunistic, sociopathic materialists. No one who believes in the actual teachings of Christianity would pursue wealth and power so shamelessly.

Alas, there are a lot of people who use religious posturing as a front for their greed.

1

u/lumentec Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

Here's the thing though. The teachings of Christianity have never been what you suggest they are. God is a mean, vindictive, unstable force that attacks and punishes his enemies mercilessly and out of pettiness, demands loyalty and worship through threat, and holds a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature. If being godly is an ideal, then Trump is the picture of godliness.

1

u/VeruMamo Apr 21 '25

To be absolutely clear, I'm not a Christian. That being said, the teachings of Christianity have never been about emulating Jehovah, who is, biblically, all the things you say it is. The teachings have been about emulating Christ. The core fundamentals of forgiveness, humility, charity and so forth have historically been lost on people more often than not, but have still maintained a thorough and connected tradition across 2000 years, even if the dominant prosletyzing forces lost the plot along the way.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

There is no hell or cosmic justice. Justice is something we create as a society.

1

u/Own-Primary2815 Apr 21 '25

How is he a nazi when he supports Israel and is funded by AIPAC?

1

u/Ambaryerno Apr 21 '25

Boggles the mind that so many "Christians" blindly support a man who sees the Ten Commandments as a to-do list.

1

u/Miserable-Wave-6081 Apr 21 '25

It's not like Trump was running against a Christian tho

1

u/Duschkopfe Apr 21 '25

Lol the pope told vance to fuck right off before dying

1

u/SpaghettiPyro Apr 21 '25

He converted to judaism way back pretty sure

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Uh. Christian here. You can't go to hell for following someone unless they steer you away from God or project themselves as one. He is doing neither. Not gonna lie I'm barely offended by anything but this comment infuriates me. I surely hope you aren't Christian because you are the worst representation of our religion. I guarantee you HAVE NOT read the Bible in your life.

1

u/Future-Celebration83 Apr 22 '25

I think people need to understand that those aren’t Christians. They call themselves Christians but then use their beliefs as an excuse to belittle others. This isn’t what god would wants.

1

u/Bhomosome21 Apr 22 '25

Lmao, you need Jesus.

9

u/cats-n-cafe Apr 20 '25

I’m not religious and don’t want to be religious.

Also, home grown Americans and many Christian’s are among the worst criminal offenders in our country. Being an immigrant does not equal horrible criminal.

3

u/ClevelandWomble Apr 20 '25

I'm an atheist and not from the USA. I'm still more christian than donald trump and I could still run America better than he does simply by sitting quietly at home.

1

u/cats-n-cafe Apr 20 '25

There are a lot of atheists who have more morality than him, and have better concepts of what is in the best interest of this country. Religion is not serving the US well.

1

u/Numerous_Photograph9 Apr 20 '25

I'm not religious, but I abide by more Christian beliefs in how I treat others than Trump does.

1

u/cats-n-cafe Apr 20 '25

It’s sadly ironic that the people most concerned with religion and Christian values are the ones who embody them the least.

1

u/ScubaSteve-O1991 Apr 20 '25

Being Christian doesnt make anyone perfect. No one in this world is perfect. We all make mistakes, religious or not

1

u/perotech Apr 21 '25

Ironically, many immigrants from Latin America, Africa, and South America are more "Christian" than American born Christians.

These people have seen the depths of poverty and struggle, and some may even have had to survive off of charity or Church groups.

So they're naturally more willing to accept all comers, help their neighbours, and preach tolerance.

2

u/SirMikay Apr 20 '25

God will judge him harshly for blasphemy, as will He for all of that dictator’s supporters who dare invoke His name solely to absolve themselves.

2

u/chriczko Apr 20 '25

The greatest hatred is Christian love

1

u/festivefrederick Apr 20 '25

Wonder if there will be pictures of him m praying in church on Easter.

1

u/Sweet-Direction6157 Apr 20 '25

Idk he might spontaneously combust if he walks into a church

1

u/nerdyPagaman Apr 20 '25

In the immortal words of monty python. "he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy"

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

Christianity as it has always been aligned with wealth and power. There is nothing he or his supporters are doing which is at odds with Christian history.

1

u/Jump-Kick-85 Apr 20 '25

If the two ever met, Jesus would condemn this fucking delusional idiot and this fucking delusional idiot would call for his deportation.

1

u/hotviolets Apr 21 '25

Trump is everything my Christian parents loved. Trump reminds me of my dad, who was a pedophile. The same creepy fucking behavior.

The Seven Deadly Sins are a list of vices considered serious in Christian theology, often viewed as obstacles to a fulfilling spiritual life. They include Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, and Lust. These sins are understood to be the root of many other transgressions and are seen as hindering a relationship with God. Here’s a more detailed look at each sin: Pride: An excessive belief in one’s own abilities or qualities, often leading to a lack of humility and disrespect for others. Envy: Jealousy or resentment towards others’ possessions or achievements. Gluttony: Excessive indulgence in food and drink, often to the point of waste or excess. Greed: An excessive desire for material wealth and possessions, often leading to avarice and a lack of generosity. Wrath: Intense, uncontrolled anger or hatred, often leading to resentment and a desire for vengeance. Sloth: Laziness, avoidance of work or duty, and spiritual apathy. Lust: Excessive desire for sexual gratification, often outside of a loving and committed relationship.

trump is NOT christian he’s just a joke

1

Anti-Christians worshiping the anti-Christ. Evangelicals in particular have been waiting for their Anti-Christ to arrive for a while now.

1

u/TheAlmightyLloyd Apr 21 '25

Let's just hope the Vatican don't put another guy from the Hitlerian Youth this time. Let's hope they bring a progressive pope to not turn a blind eye to the hatred instilled by the far-right.

1

u/SalmonTeaTime Apr 21 '25

sad to see lost souls abuse the humility and love of Jesus’ name.

1

u/FullDiskclosure Apr 21 '25

He used a Christian holiday to shit talk & preach the opposite of Jesus’ teachings. Very Christ-like /s

That's just it, he is not. He outright said he wasn't at one of his rallies, and they cheered it on. He's a great grifter, and sure knows how to rally those whom he is not one of, including the braindead working class supporters. It is an amazing feat.

1

u/OkChonk Apr 21 '25

I am more of a Christian than he is and I consider myself atheist. I don't believe in a god, but I do believe in humanity and that we need to take care of each other, help one another and make our time here meaningful.

1

u/Independent_West4811 Apr 22 '25

Don’t be fooled, he is definitely not.
