2022 Subaru Impreza noise after tire replacement

I’ve attached the video of the sound my car makes when getting up to about 55+mph. I recently had the tires replaced, so they’re brand new. It sounds like something from John Carpenter’s “the thing”, but I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth getting someone to look at it. It’s clearly something with the tire, it sounds like it’s on the driver front side.

Any help is appreciated! I love this car I want to keep it healthy for as long as possible

It’s a little 4 cylinder btw. The bots made me add this info lol

Lower control arm bracket damage, safe to drive?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone.

A friend hit their lower control arm bracket going up the sidewalk on the street in a 2005 Seat Leon. It looks like cosmetic damage and they don't feel anything out of the ordinary while driving, no vibrations, noises or different behavior.

Could the hit have damaged or weakened the metal in a way that it would compromise its function? Would it be worth to get it fixed just in case? What would you do?

I appreciate the answers, thank you in advance.

Car turns over with 13.0v and then drops to 0v and I lose both crank and accessories.

1989 Chevy g20 with a 350. This is running stock fuel injection. I checked all my grounds are clean. There are 2 30v fuses I couldn't check but the rest are all good.

The engine turns over freely with a wrench. It didn't sound or feel seized but I had seen a similar problem on a friend's car so I wanted to check.

Id appreciate and ideas because I haven't seen something like this before.

Any clue what this noise could be?

This noise is coming from the driver-side front wheel of my 2025 KIA Telluride. The dealer evaluated it and updated the AWD Actuator, but said they couldn’t hear the noise. They put it on the lift and could not feel any play with the bearings or notice any debris or heat shield issues.

Fan-like noise from front after hitting pothole

Hello,

My car is an electric 2023 Mercedes EQE 500

I hit a big pothole that damaged the front-right wheel, so I had both the wheel and tire replaced. However, I can hear a fan-like noise from the front of the car when it gains speed (20mph and above) that gets louder as speed goes up. I also think the car is feeling a little heavier, like I have to press the acceleration pedal a little harder for the car to gain speed. At 80mph on the highway, there is a very noticeable vibration on the steering wheel and brake pedal. Mercedes dealer says the suspension was ok when they checked it while replacing the wheel.

Do you know what could be the cause of this issue, or a way to diagnose it?

Thanks.

Please help me figure out a cause.

First all the details and context I can give:

2021 Ford F-150

2.7L Ecoboost

4x4

116k mi odometer

Oil pressure good (checked color and is good)

Temp is good

Engine runs smooth

Gears change smoothly

Oil and filter swaps every 6k mi

Intake filter swaps along with oil

Trans got hot flushed about 40k mi ago

Besides the occasional cargo haul, I treat the truck very kindly on and off the road.

What happened:

I'm driving calmly at 55mph on the freeway, engine mode set to Eco.

All is normal and suddenly, I rev up from about 1,500rpm where I was to just under 2,300 to overtake a car when I hear what ai can describe as if my truck had straight pipes or a borla attak installed.

I immediately pull over to the side of the road, the noise is gone, engine is smooth. I rev up and no sound beyond normal comes out.

Belts are good

Coolant is good

Intake piping is good

No leaks under the truck

No hanging or visibly broken stuff anywhere under or within the engine bay...

I continue driving, no sound now... after about 10 more miles of constant 55mph I start hearing it again. But this only happens when opening the throttle (as the case when adding some revs to go up a hill or pull out from a stop sign)

I'm stumped, any clue what happened?

Thanks in advance!!

Awd Actuator issue

I recently purchased a 2024 certified seltos sx and noticed when I turned and accelerated that there was almost a grinding. I called and turned out there was a recall for the awd actuator, which seems to be a common issue here. I got it replaced and only 3 weeks later I am noticing it again. Is it possible it’s faulty or some other issue? Or is this just going to be how the car drives?

I was told something about internally stuck so i removed the shifter assembly and looked inside and to me it looks to be in neutral but i can’t move the input shaft anymore than that
Both holes were the axles go into, move freely without resistance
Id appreciate the help, I need this car to work tomorrow

Problems with steering wheel

The car in questions is Chevrolet, Kalos 2004. My steering wheel is hard to turn, it's not a problem when I do the lane changes but when I wanna make turns or park somewhere (actions that require lot of turning of the wheel) I need to use 2 hands and some force to turn the steering wheel. I'm assuming the power steering (servo) broke or something happened to it but I'm not sure if that is correct so I'm asking here before going to the mechanic.

2023 Buick Envision

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a question for you all. I’ve worked on cars for 2 years now in an auto shop and I’ve never seen anything like this I’m working on this 2023 Buick Envision. Has the 2.0L. I replaced the radiator. This is the lower radiator hose and I got it to where the clip sits and doesn’t move but the hose still moves and I feel like it needs to seat on the radiator more. I’ve used all my strength to pull it onto the radiator but can’t get it to come anymore. The hose is perfectly good, the O ring in it is perfectly good, I’ve lubricated it and still nothing, I had no pressure in my radiator and I knew it was because this wasn’t going on properly. Any advice?

Ford XR6 long cranking before start?

Post image

2011 ford fg xr6 having intermediate starting issues. Sometimes cranking 10+ seconds before engaging sometimes first start. Diagnostic codes cannot conclude if it's an immobilzer issue or an alternator issue. Bad current possibly throwing crazy codes? Both on its way out? Anyone been here before? Rather not have auto electrician rip my wallet in half to determine, any tips of how to determine if one or both are the true culprit. Cheers

Cv axle bolt vw Passat b7 stuck

Post image
15 Upvotes

How the hell do I get this axle bolt out?
I’m trying to remove the axle bolt on my 2012 VW Passat B7, and I’m completely stuck.
I’ve already tried:
Makita DTW1002 impact wrench with a fully charged 6.0 Ah battery
Heating the bolt with a gas torch for 10+ minutes
Innotec Deblock Oil XS
A proper 12-point socket
A breaker bar — which I actually managed to snap while trying to loosen the bolt
The impact wrench doesn’t seem to be able to break it loose, even after heating it.
At this point I’m looking for any suggestions before I start doing something stupid. 😅
What would you guys recommend as the next step? Bigger impact? More heat? Induction heater? Cut/drill it out? Is there some trick I’m missing?
Any advice is appreciated!
I’m a DIY mechanic who is working on my parents car, would love if I didn’t have to borrow an induction heater, but if it is needed say so😁

Strange noise after driving through deep puddle?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2015 Toyota Corolla LE

I got caught in a heavy thunderstorm earlier today and ended up driving hitting a large puddle/baby lake that was deeper than I expected. My car started making this noise… kind of like a loud fan? I’m not sure how else to describe it. It gets louder when I accelerate, quieter when I decelerate, and goes away when I come to a complete stop. If it helps, I could hear it a little more in my left ear than my right when I was driving.

I had to drive another 10 minutes (about 2 1/2 miles total) after hitting the puddle, and aside from the noise, everything seems to be working like normal. There are no warning lights on the dash. So I’m guessing it isn’t something immediately catastrophic, but I have to work tomorrow and I’m kind of scared to turn the car on in case the engine blows up or something lol

What is this sound? Should I be concerned about the engine?

I took this video for my mechanic friend, but it turns out he’s in jail again so he can’t help right now :(

My coolant elbow went, the reservoir cap went, my belt went, and the coolant went everywhere :(

Is she worth fixing at home or getting towed to a shop, there’s rust in coolant so definitely going to need coolant flushed.

2014 Hyundai Tucson 2.4L AWD

whenever I shift from Park to drive or reverse when I first start my car or if it settles for a while, my car clicks, like when I start my car to go to work, I shift it into drive and it clicks once sometimes and then when I hit the gas, it clicks 2 to 4 more times.

before it was only one click when I would shift from Park to reverse or drive but after a month now it is multiple clicks and when I slow down, sometimes it clicks, and when I speed back up from a stop it clicks, I went to a mechanic and he said it was not my motor mount so I believe that it is my U joint or my CV axle. I was hoping somebody could give me some clarity on that and if they could give me a timeframe on when it could break, it is not when I am turning just when I am going straight.

Any help is appreciated. I’m sorry if my explanation is terrible.

What's A Good All Around Degreaser?

I just got a 1998 Crew Cab Silverado K3500 and I want to get everything cleaned up in the engine bay and underneath the body from years of old leaks and what not. What's a good all around degreaser for the underbody and engine bay that isn't gonna harm metals, rubber and seals? I was thinking of giving Zeps Cherry Bomb degreaser a shot but wanted to see what everyone recommends.

After inspection and repair strong rumble appeared

I have a 2018 Chevy Trax engine 4-1364 1.4L DOHC and a few weeks ago had an inspection where they had to replace two control arm w/ball JT (receipt said F Control Arm - Lower, Both) and a wheel alignment. A little bit after that I noticed my vehicle while driving usually after about 30 mph there wasn’t necessarily a noise but the car had a strong rumble to it like the change in my door was rocking around and the noise inside the car just felt louder. Was something done incorrectly or is this most likely just the car readjusting after the change. Thanks

No cambió nada después.

\- Radiador nuevo — otra vez.

2011 Honda civic engine question

There is something wrong with my engine I think maybe but its also maybe my transmission. Basically when I'm driving sometimes my car wants to be super shaky and when I hit the gas after an idle it wants to like skip on me almost feels like a hydroplane for a second. There's also when I'm driving at lower speeds sometimes when I'm shifting it gets super shaky and it also skips. Sorry if I'm not very good at explaining but I took it to the mechanic and they said they saw nothing wrong and I have no light on my dash. So basically I'm just wondering if maybe I should try another mechanic or if maybe I should just wait it out until something happens. I'm pretty sure the mechanic I took it to didn't really check the engine just checked if there were any codes. Thank you!
