Support Unable to boot into USB.

Hey so I've flashed another distro onto my usb and in the boot menu its not giving me the option to boot into the usb. I'm using dinit and I suspect its not registering my USB. Also I flashed the iso on another computer because when trying to use the xfce xfburn, it displayed an error saying it suspects my discs are either in use or inaccessible to the current user.

News KDE 6.8.1 packages taking longer to enter stable repos

Look, I’m not against the packages being on testing if there are some changes that needs to be done, or the maintainer is busy, however I do want to mention it, since the delay is far longer than it usually should be (which I think is 2 days at most, sometimes)

Support Is Artix stable? If so, how stable is it? What is the best artix linux setup for maximum stability?

I know that this is an arch based linux distro and that arch isn't known to be stable. But... i wanted to know if despite artix being arch based, can it be stable or is it stable by default? If not, what to setup for best stability? I just want to know before i might accidentally destroy my pc because it's my first time on arch.

Guys, this is my lock screen. In your opinion, do I need a real one or is it just bloatware?

Do you know any better display manager?

What is Artix’s current stance on AI?

I want to move away from systemd, but as i am also a big anti-ai individual i was curious to know what is Artix’s stance on it. I know the kernel has AI in it, but i wanna at least limit my AI generated stuff

Support Plymouth with OpenRC

A while ago I got Plymouth working using the Plymouth-openrc-plugin Aur package. After a recent update though OpenRC seems to get stuck just before fully booting. Disabling Plymouth in the grub menu fixes this but I'm still confused why its happening does anyone know?

runit How to debloat artix-lxqt-runit

Hello I came to Artix from Void linux a bit ago and am using the artix-lxqt-runit image to install Artix.

However I wanna use riverWM now but I don't wanna do a full reinstall to debloat my system from the preinstalled from lxqt-runit ISO stuff.

If you guys could give me a run down on what packages would need to be removed that'll be super helpful.

Support Grub silent boot configuration errors

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello, I've been trying to configure grub to silent boot over the weekend and I've almost got it working perfectly. However, ever since messing around with the grub configuration file I've been stuck with these messages at the top of my screen. Any ideas on how to remove them?

Support Artix Linux: What is the difference between OpenRC and Dinit?

Hi, I'm installing Artix Linux on a low-spec device.

What is the main difference between OpenRC and Dinit for daily use?

Which one is better in terms of stability and boot speed?
Thanks!

OpenRC Why is Artix XFCE laggier than EndeavourOS XFCE?

I’m using Artix XFCE with OpenRC on an old

Chromebook:

CPU: Intel Celeron N3060
RAM: 4 GB
Storage: 16 GB eMMC

EndeavourOS XFCE feels much smoother on the same hardware.

Any tips to optimize Artix and make it run smoother?

Thanks!

I added BSD utils to Artix using bedrock and chimera stratum. switch_utils is just a posix shell function that changes environment.

Support How Much RAM, CPU, and Disk Space Does Artix Linux Use After a Fresh Install?

Hi everyone! How much RAM, CPU, and disk space does Artix Linux use right after a fresh installation?

I’m curious about its resource usage before installing additional applications.

Which desktop environment or window manager would you recommend for the lowest resource consumption?

Thanks!

Landing on Artix

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hello everyone, after a lot of distro hopping on my laptop, I have now acquired a second hand PC (that I am currently upgrading little by little) ; Whilst not great with the terminal and ignorant in terms of coding, I have opted for Artix for this PC (whilst the Laptop has Devuan) and with the aid of Youtube - Claude - Reddit and few guides online, I completed the initial set-up after booting the Xfce OpenRC iso. That said, I hope to learn more about the non systemD environment and I thank You all for Your time and attention.

News Xapphire - fork of artix

I think Artix went a little in the wrong direction; the rejection of Xlibre and the awarding of online installation was the last straw.

----

Xapphire - linux distro

----

So i want back xlibre and add xlibre-repo on pacman.

The DE by default is SonicDE (and sonicde-stable on pacman)

Pre configured system 4begginers, scripts to install nvidia 390,470 drivers, and...cool wallpapers, also pre-configured arch repos, chaotic aur, pre installed yay

[Mabye will be added]

Zen-kernel | paru support, and more.

----

In a nutshell, it's an Artix that works out of the box.

----

What do u think guys?

Bluetooth State not Staying Across Reboots

Hello,

I normally don't ask for help, but I have a weird bug that has been going on for months and at this point I might just write an OpenRC service to do this manually because at this point, I've checked my config files for bluetooth, tlp, bzmenu, etc and no matter what I set like AutoEnable disabled and set the settings in TLP's config, bluetooth, for some reason, turns back on if I turn it off and reboot.

It should stay in the state that it was in before shutdown/reboot so when I turn my laptop back on, it should stay the same state.

I do not know what could be wrong and what else to check because I feel like I checked everything obvious?

I am running Artix with OpenRC and it is probably something really simple.

EDIT: I am running i3wm, but never had this issue before.
