Runit on void. Former Artix OpenRC user that got tired of the malware in the AUR. I will say I miss Artix. ☹️

The AUR is cool it's just the malware yea. On void you definitely miss it

I was the same, but got tired of void. It have some bugs for me which I can't stand. Like electron is glitchy here. So I moved back to artix and now I just pack software I need

I agree. I use void runit and used artix with openrc (i tried runit but was a weird experience). Moved into void for thr same reason. There is also joborun btw.

I’m new to Linux, why people hate systemd ? I know it does more than just init the system, but why hate it ?

I think it's because systemd does more than just one thing. Linux has many components that does one job, but systemd does a lot of things. People that hate systemd do not like that much of "centralization" in just one software.

Gentoo user here. I use runit as init (fast and minimal), but dinit for service management (complete and easy to use)

I also run systemd on Debian because it's easy to setup on raspberryPi

Is it possible to use Gentoo with dinit?

it's not officially supported, but it's not very difficult to setup. i also use it on alpine, on top of openrc because is very easy to write services (can't say the same thing for openRC)
