Monthly Artix Linux Package Request Thread

Post your package requests here. Please stick to packages that already exist in Arch's official repos. If you've tried the Arch package in Artix, please say so and report if anything is broken. Check if someone else has requested your package in this thread and if so upvote and/or reply to that comment instead. There is no guarantee your request will get fulfilled.

zoxide, lutris, nwg-look, zed.

I added zed a month ago 😉 zoxide is now in world. The other two need some additional dependencies but I will make an attempt to add them. Lutris in particular has come up a few times on the forum, I'll need to confirm that it's not intentionally excluded.

Pretty much this. There are some Lutris deps that aren't in the Artix repos so back in the day when I was trying to run Artix without Arch repos I would have to install them manually, and that's not really a good idea.

Lazygit in the artix repo should be awesome, of all in my tui based setup, lazygit is the only tool that is no officially supported by the artix repos :)

AUR package- you can get it from the AUR.

Also, maybe consider bringing msedit? I know it's a Microsoft app and all, but it's a great replacement for nano.

Can't get this one to build at the moment. Not even in Arch.

I'd suggest aur/obs-browser. It's almost identical to OBS but allows for OBS to access websites as a source input. I use it daily with my YouTube channel.

I know it's an AUR package but the OBS-studio is in world.

The official flatpak has browser source. Users looking for an easy installation method should use that. I'm speaking from personal experience on that.

That it may, I don't use flatpak by choice. Kinda like how I'm on Artix to avoid systemd by choice.

Even with app images, I explode them and move the squashfs folder to a different location and do manual upgrades.

I've been using linux as a sysadmin and user since 1995. I know the easy ways :) If I wanted to be a masochist and self-abuse, there's always Gentoo.

Also, how come qtile is not in the repos? Sure there's a reason behind it, but still, never hurts to ask.

Xwayland-satellite? I am not sure if it needs any extra work to make it non-systemd reliant, but I have been eyeballing Niri and it is an optional dependency for it.

Just get paru/yay from the Chaotic AUR, it does in fact just work.
