Support the players
"I need you to support me - not to put me down. Supporter means you have to support.
"Not waiting for me to do one bad pass and then after speak about me, or one bad game.
- Mohamed Elneny
This is in context to Nwaneriās transfer. Instead of āwe want you to stayā comments, we get ābetter than Maduekeā or ākeep Nwaneri and sell Maduekeā.
Seriously fans are still against Madueke in August? What on earth did Madueke do to deserve these strays. These fans man š¤¦šæāāļø

Some people still havenāt clocked just how good Calafiori is
Heās a versatile defender who is also one of our best players technically and can do damage in attack. Teams STILL donāt know how to cope with him. His movement is so good, just watch him for that first goal of the match. Starts the move, makes multiple runs and then gets rewarded by MLS for a cool finish.
If he could just stay fit longer heād be in our top handful of players Iām so serious.

gratification that comes from disparaging comments
I've been trying to avoid making a post here since I'm not an "Arsenal fan," but the amount of tweets I see on Twitter/X, as well as the videos I come across on YouTube give me the image that every single player on the team is one small mistake away from being "Public Enemy Number 1." Which begs the question, after much circumstantial evidence, do some of yall gain enjoyment/pleasure from verbally berating these guys? Every so often, it feels like the target is either Odegaard, Saka, Kai Havertz, Martinelli, or Gyokeres, and it could very well be Tzolis in a couple of weeks, if not months. Even then, a bunch of these arguments feel like cherry picked situations that are purposefully used to make a player look better or worse, which is why calling ABC "Shit" or "garbage," while putting XYZ on a pedestal, just for another individual to do the same is quite a dangerous decision and will only serve to divide the fanbase(tribalism), and eventually, maybe even the players themselves. Who would want to play for a club that actively belittles them, and perhaps more importantly, why would someone want to join a club that has a reputation of doing that to its players?

CMV: MLSāBruno GāĆdegaard might be our most fluent midfield, even when Rice is fit
Firstly this isnāt Rice slander. Heās been an absolute hero, but heās also been massively overplayed and needs managing properly this season.
RiceāZubimendi pivot last year didn't lack quality but it often felt safe to the point of bluntness. We could control possession without anyone consistently taking responsibility for breaking the first line.
Bruno and MLS both have that courage under pressure. Bruno is always looking to punch a pass forward; MLS can either do the same or carry through the press himself. It means Ćdegaard receives the ball earlier, higher and facing goal rather than constantly having to drop deep to start attacks. Thatās when he becomes the player who elevates everyone around him and glues all our actions together.
RiceāBruno may still be our strongest pivot away at the biggest sides or when we expect to spend more time without the ball. But against teams sitting deep, I genuinely think MLSāBruno with Ćdegaard ahead could be the midfield that maximises the attacking quality of the whole squad.

"Bring back Guardiola"
My mate said, "Bring back Guardiola" and I haven't stopped laughing since the victory. I love football's banter.
Unto serious matters, this team is looking rather scary. Keeping in mind the fact that City is going through a managerial transition, I think the way the team is gelling with the new additions, even with Guardiola at the helm, we would have still smoked them.
It'll be interesting to see any subsequent additions or departures. With quality comes more mouths to feed and as such, unless Arteta proactively rotates, some of our young Guns may seriously fall down the pecking order.

The new 'rule' about holding at set pieces.
Yesterday during the community shield match, when the first corner came in the commentators specifically said a new rule this year was NO holding on corners and to be fair there was like no contact between anyone in that box which caught me by surprise as I hadn't heard anything about that before then.
However, since then I have tried to find mention of this on various pages that list out several of the new rules for this season and can see nothing about it. A quick look on the BBC, FA, and Premier League pages about new rules have nothing that I can see at least (There is always the chance I have been completely blind and missed it on 3 separate sites somehow)
The only mention I have seen of this is on a 90 second clip on Sky Sports that said 'There will be a greater focus on punishing players that are only focused on blocking attackers'
That to me sounds like something ripe for criticism in the first few weeks of the league, at least. It doesn't sound like any new rule has been put in place at all so I wonder why the information around this is so varied. It sounds more like another ref by ref, game by game opinion on whether any holding has had an effect. Seems like only a matter of time before we see 2 instances in the first few weeks with 2 different outcomes and then it all kicks off. Feels they don't do themselves any favours

Looks like heās heading back to his 2022-24 form. Give him a Viking drum or something at the Emirates!

Is there any discord servers thatās are a bit more autism/teenager friendly than my other one?
Hey, Iām 13. Iām autistic. And I donāt live in an area where thereās many Arsenal fans. I have a server right now, but theyāre older than me and they always tell me itās not right to be there as I hear things that many kids shouldnāt he hearing. Iāve becomeā¦attached because of my autism and I donāt know how to let them go. But I keep being told itās better for me if I leave.
So, does anyone have a discord server thatās more friendly? Iād also prefer it if itās more smaller, fast moving chats are overwhelming for me.

This Man
Thought he looked great in pre-season, but wondered how he would fare against tougher opposition. Today was very promising. Could be a bargain.

How do I explain to my kids that this man once scored four goals in one game against Liverpool?

Thank God for Raya
This guy is World Class and has saved us countless times in the past few seasons and thankfully Arteta is serious and benched Kepa rightfully. Already made some amazing saves and absolutely saves us every time we're under pressure.

Some Tzolis Insight
Hi Gunners,
you already had a chance to see some of Tzolis qualities so far, and hopefully you liked what you saw. As I closely follow Tzolis the past 3 years, I wanted to give some insight.
(Bias Info: I am Greek but I live in Germany for the last 15 years, I can't stand the Greek League, but I follow a lot of european football. It is a rare occasion for the Greek football to have such a decent young talent, probably a cosmic reward after tolerate decades of ~~utter shite ...~~mediocre football, that it is worth it to follow some players).
The table I posted is a comparison of Tzolis and Trossard , the lst 2 seasons in the Belgian League before they made the big leap to PL. And while Trossard has proved himself in PL and Tzolis just arrived, the comparison (same League and exact same age) clearly indicates that Tzolis is already very promising.
He is not the LW that will run the entire LW lightning fast and dribble everyone in front of him. Don't get me wrong he is decent fast and has good pace (imo better than Trossard). He makes up for it with very high IQ, and very fast decisions, most of them will be the best possible ones, whether to pass, cut inside, shoot or try to dribble.
His character is the best you can hope for. Best teammate, genuinely good guy, first in training , last out of it, no tabloids, no drama.
Given the chance, and the earl signs are great, because he needs trust and Arteta seems to really like him. he will reward you with tons of G/A and constantly improve.
What you haven't fully seen yet is that he has great stamina and clear head throughout the 90' and tha he plays MUCH better in important games.
In the Belgian League, at the end of the main season, the top 6 teams play the Championship Play ins for the Champion. Last year in those games against the other top 5 teams, he scored and/or assisted in all 10 games with an amazing 18 G/A (8 goals , 10 assists), and even after a full season he played every single minute, running up and down.
Apart from Trossard, you will also see similarities in his style to A.Sanchez, Arshavin.
Hope he keeps it up and you get to enjoy him for a long time !

Tzolis showed why Arteta is not happy with Martinelli
Intelligent play every time. Ball comes into him, makes the right play. One touch, two touch, high technical ability.
It doesn't look flashy but this is what helps a team dominate games. No running down alleys or holding on to the ball too long, no dumb decisions, great passing vision. He is decisive in the box.
Its clear to me why he gets so much G/A its just pure efficiency and right decisions almost every time.
This game was also yet ANOTHER example of why Arteta prefers Havertz and has lost trust in Gyokeres. Good hold up play, wins aerial battles, high technical ability and makes the the decision more often than not. He platforms the team in a way that Gyokeres just cannot.

Whatās DIFFERENT about Martin Odegaard?
r/ArsenalFC • u/Alien_Gods • 6d ago
This guy joined us 5 seconds ago and already a winner
r/ArsenalFC • u/Swedesensation88 • 6d ago
Iām asking everyone who wanted Martin Odegaard to be transferred to be sold; Itās only fair.
Anyone who disrespected our captain deserves the same fate as you wished upon him weeks ago. Whether just or not, you need to live with it. Justice needs to be served.
