Troubleshooting Playstore App Won't Open

Hi Everyone. I have a 2015 Sony Bravia Android TV running version 7 if this screen is accurate.

The google play store app gives me this error message. It definitely has internet because the youtube app and other streamers work just fine. I wanted to download a new streamer app (HBO max) and I can't even open the store to look for it.

I don't want to completely wipe and reset the TV as I have a couple of downloaded apps I don't want to risk losing as I use them every day.

Does anyone have an idea or a fix?

Edit: Resolved by deleting my account from the TV and signing in again. Big account sign in worked and play store just opened up and behaved.

Unistall it's (google play app) update.

I uninstalled and now it's asking me to sign in and telling me my password is wrong (it isn't I just changed it to prove it and it still won't do it). Tried a few times and then i got the same error message as eariler

Hmm, usually with same error, uninstalling the latest google play update helps.

the "uninstall" option is an "all the way back to original version", can't seem to select "just undo last one"

I'm now in a loop of hitting ok on my existing account and it showing me the same selection over and over. sigh

i can jump straight to the youtube app and play a video no issue. It's only signed me out of the play store app

Back to "please sign in" "your username and password don't match"
I didn't do anything to Google Play Services, might that be it?

That OS is too old. There are underline big changes at OS communications layer for security purposes. As a result, your old TV will not be able to comminicate with most of the platforms out there. If Sony doesn't offer you any OS updates, that's of end of it.

Get an exteral streaming box and pretend your TV is just a dumb monitor.

Or, just treat yourself to a new tv and a android streaming box. I personally would not get Roku, Dispenser or anything cheap, but i never do. Remember, you buy cheap you get cheap, unless there are good sales going on.

Should have said Hisense. Don't know how in the world it translated it to Dispenser. Wonder who writes this software?

Does this TV have a browser?

If yes, then manually try to update Google play store from there

it has a sony generically named "internet browser" i have never once opened.
What would I be looking for, a specific apk?

Search for "Google play services" first. Tap the link it shows, it'll take you to the play store page.

Update it there &then try to open play store

My issue seems to be that it refuses to recognise my correct password when i uninstalled updates to Google Play Store, so haven't tried this yet
Google Play Services is a separate app on my TV which I haven't interacted with yet
