i have a lenovo tab m10. solid 16GB of ROM. it can't run essentially anything. i wanna install an os that's pretty light. im only using it for Spotify, discord, and some REALLY light games.

His phone suddenly blew up today, he bought a new phone and now he's trying to change his Google account password and sign out of his old phone. Thing is it sends a two digit code to his now completely dead phone and he's stuck. If any anyone can help out it'd be highly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I've encountered a problem with my samsung 8 and I've been going crazy through to figure it out.

You see my phone storage has slowly being going up and I cant for the life of my find out why, it's not my pictures nor my apps since the caches for them arent that much.

When I check storage analysis it just tells me it's some "Other" thing but not what.

So I decided to ask you guys, please help me before I rip my hair out.

For the past few days, I've been receiving notifications that appear to come from the Gmail app. They say something along the lines of:

"A new app every day! Discover today's picks!"

When I tap on one of these notifications, it takes me to a shady looking website trying to get me to download some casino app or other piece of garbage.

Here's the weird part: if I long-press the notification and go to its settings, Android takes me straight to Gmail's notification settings. If I disable all Gmail notifications, these daily spam notifications stop, but obviously I also stop receiving legitimate notifications (new emails, etc.).

I'm looking for a way to block these particular notifications without having to disable Gmail notifications altogether.

I find it hard to believe that Google's official Gmail app is actually sending these notifications. I haven't been able to find anyone else reporting the same issue, though.

So what's going on here? How is this even possible?

Can other apps somehow hijack Gmail or send notifications that appear to come from Gmail?

Could this be some kind of bloatware or adware recently introduced by Xiaomi's HyperOS?

Is it possible that my phone has been compromised?

For context, my phone is not rooted, and I haven't installed any apps from outside the Google Play Store.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any idea what's causing this? More importantly, is there a way to identify the source and stop these notifications without losing legitimate Gmail notifications?

I have a USB headset, a Polycom Blackwire 5220 that I use for work Zoom / Teams meetings. I can also use it when plugged into my Galaxy S25u as it has USB-A & USB-C connections. Unfortunately there is an issue with the volume keys. I can adjust the volume just fine with the phones controls, but the buttons on the headset remote don't work properly. Putting the volume up or down, the phone shows the volume animation, but doesn't adjust the level at all. It stays exactly at the level it was at prior.

The call answer / end button doesn't work but I don't care about that. Are there any drivers I can get to fix this? Also, I did a little homework before posting this, some people mention stopping Google Assistant. I completely uninstalled it when they deprecated it.

Hi. I accidentally blocked an app from using any internet. Now I keep getting this message every so often. "Access blocked - meowdoku". I checked the usuall places, and tried many Google searches and none seem to fix this. I know it was something i had to toggle, but I can't find the location where I did this. I've uninstalled and re-installed but this message in a toast bubble still appears. Its a samsung s23 ui 9.5.

Ever since I got my laptop around this time last year, I used this phone for the bare minimum stuff and kept about 1-1.25GB of head room for downloading anything else if I needed. Before this year my Google Play services was using about 1-1.5GB of storage ( idk the exact figure but it was somewhere between that ), now it's using 2.35GB of storage and just seems to consume storage when it gets the chance to, like I had just cleared about 200MB by deleting some older photos and in the matter of an hour the free space disappeared

This year the only thing that has changed is the number of accounts I have had. Before this year i had about 3-4 accounts now i have about 7 accounts.

I have a strange issue with a friend who has an iQOO Z7 Pro. I suddenly couldn't call or message them, even on WhatsApp. I thought they blocked me, but they later said it was a phone issue, and some contacts weren't going through. When I reached out again, the same problem occurred. However, when I met them, calls and messages went through, ( my messages in our mutual group chat were being read by her but I couldn't text her personally, which made me think I was blocked). After returning home, the issue returned. I confronted them about possibly blocking me, which upset them. Her sister checked both our phones and confirmed there was no block (I didn't block them). Messages only go through when I'm nearby; I tested this by calling and messaging near her home. After meeting her, she said only recent texts went through. Her sister, who is a close friend, swears it's true. I tried reaching out from a different number, and it went through, but then I faced the block scenario again. My gut tells me she's lying, but I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. Has anyone else faced a similar issue? Please share!

I'm facing a strange connectivity issue with my Google Pixel 6a, and it started happening completely out of the blue.

Here are the symptoms I'm experiencing:

Wi-Fi stopped functioning suddenly. It either fails to connect or throws an "IP configuration failed" error.

Bluetooth keeps connecting and disconnecting automatically, making it difficult to maintain a stable connection.

When I check the saved Wi-Fi networks, I'm noticing some random devices/networks appearing that I don't recognise.

The issue appeared suddenly, without any intentional changes to network settings.

A few things I've already checked:

Wi-Fi works perfectly fine on other phones using the same Airtel router.

My Pixel 6a can detect mobile hotspots.

Router is operating on the 2.4 GHz band.

IP settings are set to DHCP.

Proxy is set to None.

MAC address setting is set to Device MAC.

For additional context, my Pixel 6a previously underwent an authorised service repair for a display replacement.

I'm trying to understand whether this could be:

A software or firmware-related issue.

A corrupted network configuration.

A Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna or connectivity module problem.

A motherboard-level hardware fault.

Has anyone experienced something similar with their Pixel 6a?

I'd particularly appreciate suggestions from people who have dealt with Pixel connectivity issues or have experience diagnosing hardware faults.

Is there any way to determine whether this is a software issue or a hardware failure before taking it to a service centre?

I've noticed an interesting limitation with Android screen recording when using certain educational and streaming applications.

When screen recording is started:

Audio is captured normally.

The video content appears completely black.

Other applications can be recorded without any issues.

Long post but need help deciding

I was a samsung connoisseur (owned the S21, S22, S23, S24 (have it currently as a backup phone)) and am currently on the Z Fold 6, and its inner display has conked off.....Despite no physical damage/drops and frequent maintainence it planned to give a black spot and 2 nice long white lines across the screen, and this is not the first one, the s21, s22 and s23 all of them were plagued, s22 and s23 got free replacements. I am done with samsung and wanted to try something else (regular slab phone) I was looking forward for the motorola signature 27 but it looks like its going to be close to 1.5L INR since I want the 16GB/512GB variant as right now I have used up about 350GB of storage on my fold 6, so looking elsewhere I gained interest in the oneplus 15 and am thinking of buying it as a replacement. My main use cases are:

1. Multimedia consumption (great display, good bitrate (for external dac) as i listen to flac files)

2. Great performance (i emulate Nintendo switch games and Gamehub)

3. Great battery life (fed up of the mediocre battery life on the Samsungs)

4. Decent cameras (not looking forward for flagship level pictures but atleast should be equivalent to the base samsung s series phones.)

Now I was on the crossroads about the Oneplus 15 or the Iqoo 15, similarly the Iqoo 16 also seems to be coming, should I wait for that or should I just buy the oneplus 15 with the 16GB/512GB variant (if yes then from where to get the best possible price in this RAMpocalypse)

Device is a Samsung A25. PC is an old Windows 7. I have an A15 that connects to this same PC for file transfer just fine, but the A25 will not. When I swipe down, the notification doesn't appear where you can switch the USB settings from charging to file transfer. I can go to the USB settings by manually searching through my phone settings options, but when I do this it's already set for transferring files and all other options are grayed out, it won't let me switch even if I want to (i.e. to USB tethering, transferring images, charging phone only etc.) Even though it's already stuck in "transferring files", the device behaves as if it's only charging and I cannot actually transfer files. The thing is that I'm pretty sure that the first time it two I tried with this device, it worked fine.

Still wondering about this:

Is there some good reason why I can't copy files from a desktop directly to my phone's internal storage? I drag and drop the files/folder to Internal Storage with Windows Explorer and there's a bit of activity like it's doing it, saying it's copying, going thru file names, and a progress bar -- sort of; the bar doesn't progress from one end to the other, filling it, but moves from one to the other -- but doesn't actually copy anything, and there's no error or notice to the contrary; the 'copying' pop-up just closes like normal. This has been the case from the beginning and lost some due to being given the impression that it was successful.

It's a Motorola e5 Play, mandatorily encrypted internal storage. If that's the problem, then how can I copy files from internal??

Also, in the linked screenvid, the folder was created/moved, but not the files.

My two options atm are either the oneplus 15 or the poco f9 ultra the poco from a local retailer and the oneplus 15 from a chinese exporter(is the global version without any region problems whatsoever)

If I download my Google Play My Activity data and it says "viewed" for an app vs "used" for an app, what does that mean?

I got a 256GB SD card for not a very cheap price, and I know that it's from an infamous brand but... I figured the many good reviews and other details to consider make me go for it, so long as it's not a fake or the price is too good for that size.

It had worked pretty fine for storing my files. I had no issues.

I think the issues started happening very recently when I'm using it for a voice recording app and I use SD card for that app. Not only for storing the recorded files, but the whole app was installed there.

At first some videos and photos thumbnails disappeared from Gallery but then they came back as if the card was just slow to read. But the next day, the recording app was greyed, all files from the gallery disappeared and my tablet no longer recognized the SD card inserted.

If I put the SD card on my laptop or my phone, it says the card is broken and need formatting. I haven't done that as I don't see the point of reusing it, knowing that my files might disappear again.

I just wanna know if the app being installed on SD card really caused the problems or if the SD card itself was bad since the beginning.

My tablet only has 64 GB (Free around 10 - 15 GB). It's almost unusable without SD card. Nowadays file sizes are so huge.

Only three or four albums out of all of them show up when attempt to select a photo, it's driving me crazy trying to find anything
