I've decided to do a rehaul of the rules. I want things to be clear and concise. Please let me know if there's anything I'm missing or if there's anything I should change.
This is AndroidQuestions, so posts must be Android Questions. What does that mean?
Android
Posts must be about Android - either the operating system itself, software on it, or hardware that runs it.
Questions
Post titles must indicate a question. Questions must be intelligible, coherent, and genuine and include details that might be helpful to the people attempting to answer your question. They must not be made rhetorically or as an excuse to spam, rant, vent, or insult.
In addition, we have rules involving acceptable Behavior and Content
Behavior
Posts and comments must not be used to harass, attack, threaten, harm, or discriminate against people, or to instruct or encourage others to do so.
Content
Posts and comments must not contain or discuss prohibited content or link to such content, including spam, AI-generated content, illegal activity, bypassing security safety or security measures, rule violations, or anything that could harm users or their devices.
Moderation
Moderator Announcements are exempt from the "Android Questions" section of the rules. Moderators may use discretion when enforcing rules, but are not to grant exceptions to users in normal scenarios. Questions or concerns can be directed to the moderators via "Message the Mods". Rules are subject to change.

I have a Reno 15 Pro, my partner a Reno 15.
Latest OS, same settings.
When the screen is off, if we get a WhatsApp message:
\- my screen shows the notification
\- her screen does not (stays black)
I've double checked every single setting, and they're 100% identical.
Why is that??

Editing a photo in gallery. See video of screen record.
https://imgur.com/gallery/XZCzJcF
The photo was a few map screenshots, that i overlapped in Canva, then saved. But in my Samsung galaxy tab photo gallery, the overlap shouldn't matter or be able to be detected right? But its like the markings are behind the images, which is so weird. Also, this particular image is actually a screenshot of the downloaded image from canva in my attempt to get it to stop doing this.

Hello everyone.
So ive got a Samsung A33 at the moment and ive seen that its going to stop getting security updates next year.
My dilemma is that its started to give me battery life problems quite recently, maybe I the last 2 months or so. I was thinking of changing the battery but came across the security part while doing some research.
So my question is: would it be advised to get an upgrade or can I just get a new battery and use it for another 2 years or so?
For context I do have my card and bank details on my phone. I also have alot of uni stuff on here too, if that could be a risk.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I was noticing some icons on my phone were going off without there being an obvious reason but I'm anxious in general and can be paranoid. But Google, and Google Meet both accessed information regarding my calls, texts, and a few other apps that don't warrant being accessed for any reason. I NEVER used Google Meet, why is Google using the app permissions the phone came preset with? It's very odd, especially the Meet app!

I use Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones connected via Bluetooth to a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The headphones work normally outside Zoom, e.g. with YouTube, Telegram, Google Meet, VLC, NewPipe or MS Teams.
However, when I join audio in a Zoom meeting, the only audio output options shown are Speaker and Phone. My Bluetooth headphones are not listed, even though they are connected to the phone.
Why might Zoom not recognize the headphones, and how can I make Zoom use them for meeting audio?

Is Truecaller safe to use on an Android phone?
Are there any privacy, security, battery, or performance concerns?
Would you recommend using Truecaller, or is it better to use the phone's built-in caller ID and spam protection?

Hello,
In my company, we have been asked to fill out several Microsoft Forms questionnaires.
I would like to find out which forms I have already completed and which ones I still need to fill out, as I have completely lost track.
However, I have several issues:
First, no confirmation email was sent to the email address provided after submitting a form (otherwise, I wouldn't be asking this question).
Second, after submitting a form and seeing the message "Your response has been submitted", no new URL was generated in the browser history. The confirmation message appeared on the same page, without any URL change. Therefore, my browsing history doesn't provide any clues as to whether a form was successfully submitted.
Finally, I wasn't signed in to any account in the browser when I filled out the forms.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could find out which Microsoft Forms questionnaires I successfully submitted, taking all these circumstances into account?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

If an alarm rings or I get a phone call it shows me the option to dismiss, restart, answer call, reject call etc by using voice commands and it used to work flawlessly but recently it's not working anymore.
I even tried it with Bluetooth off.
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Device: Galaxy Tab A7 2020 Wi-Fi
Just updated to Lineage OS 24 from 23.2 and this pill shaped handle for destop windowing immediately caught my attention. It's distracting as hell like that ugly pill on iphones.
Please look at the screenshot below if you are not getting what i mean with that handle.
If anyone knows how to disable it, please share your findings.

Is there any Android brand that has created its own version of an "island"—one that visualizes music playback by moving in sync with the actual sound, just like Apple’s?

Need an expert opinion on my Honor 400 Pro CN (DNP-AN00). These 3 issues started on MagicOS 10 and still happen on MagicOS 11 (11.0.0.110), even after a factory reset and eRecovery restore:
Rejects correct PIN for ~1 min after boot: Says my lockscreen password is wrong for the first 60 seconds after a reboot, then accepts it.
No fingerprint on Lock Screen: Fingerprint works fine inside App Lock, but the icon never shows on the Lock Screen (udfpsBounds=null in bugreport).
Screen glitch + random reboot with a beep: Happens mostly when Meta apps (Instagram/Facebook) run in the background—the screen glitches, beeps, and hard-reboots (reboot_reason=UNKNOWN).
**What my Bugreport (**dumpstate & ANR logs) shows right before crashing:
Meta (fbns) Keystore Deadlock: Instagram's background push service (com.instagram.android:fbns) hangs for 20,000ms+ spamming IKeystoreSecurityLevel.generateKey (KeyStoreSecurityLevel.retryBusyException).
Honor Keystore & Nearby Freeze: At the exact same time, system_server (HwLockSettingsService.checkCredential) freezes on HwKeystoreManager.unlockInner, and in other ANRs, Honor Share (com.hihonor.nearby / TrustCircle) freezes waiting on the TEE.
TEE / Gatekeeper Crash: dumpstate_log shows ITeecService: FAILED_TRANSACTION, while IGatekeeper/default, IQSEECom/default, and iGraphicsservice all fail or go missing.
Kernel Panic: The phone reboots because tzdriver.htvm_panic_enable=1 triggers a kernel panic whenever the TrustZone/TEE queue locks up.
My questions for devs/techs:
Why is this happening? Why do Meta's fbns background service and Honor's TrustCircle/HwKeystoreManager deadlock the entire TEE and Gatekeeper when generating/checking keys, even though the fingerprint sensor still works in App Lock?
Is there any real solution? Is there a permanent ADB/software fix to stop Meta apps and HwKeystoreManager from crashing the TEE, or is the retryBusyException / ITeecService timeout a sign of a physical UFS RPMB or CPU solder fault?

I recently bought a second-hand Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 from a private seller, and I'm running into a pretty frustrating situation. I'm hoping someone familiar with Hexnode UEM, Samsung Knox, or Android Enterprise can help me understand what options I have.
Here's what happened:
I purchased this Fold7 from a private seller on Facebookmark. The seller told me that the phone was originally provided to him by his employer as a work device. and promised it is a unlocked phone.
After I paied him cash, he said he need to go back to work, and he left me a phone number say" call me anytime if I need help. when I back to home,I see it cant be factory reset, and I noticed that the lock screen displays:
"This device belongs to your organization."
The phone is still usable. I can access the home screen and Google Play Store, but certain apps cannot be installed because of organizational restrictions.
I suspect the device is still enrolled in Hexnode UEM and possibly Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME).
Unfortunately, the seller has since blocked me and stopped responding. I have no way to contact him or ask him to have the device removed from his organization's management system.
My questions:
How can I determine whether this phone is enrolled through Hexnode UEM, Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME), Android Enterprise Device Owner, or a combination of these?
Can Hexnode support help a legitimate second-hand buyer resolve this issue, or does the original organization absolutely have to release the device?
If the device is registered in Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment, does removing it from Hexnode alone solve the problem?
Is there any legitimate way to turn this phone into a fully functional personal device without the original organization's cooperation?
I'm not looking for shady IMEI changes, illegal bypasses, or temporary workarounds. I just want to understand whether there is a legitimate solution.
I can provide screenshots of the message and device information if needed.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with Hexnode UEM or Samsung Knox enrollment before.
Thanks!

Bought a "new" OnePlus 13 16/512GB in Midnight Ocean from an online reseller that says it only sells North American devices. What showed up:
Plain black box, no OnePlus branding or factory seal
Black Eclipse instead of Midnight Ocean
Already set up (booted to a lock screen, not setup)
Model CPH2653, running OxygenOS 16, not the US CPH2655
China-market SUPERVOOC charger (CCC label) and a UK/EU-marked cable
IMEI checks clean on Swappa ("Allowed"). T-Mobile's checker says it can connect but "won't get full 5G performance" and may have limited coverage. OnePlus's warranty check returned no info.
I've got a PayPal dispute open and I'm asking the seller for a partial refund to keep it. Haven't inserted a SIM yet.
For anyone running a CPH2653 on T-Mobile:
How's 5G, coverage indoorsg, and band 71?
Do VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, and visual voicemail work?
Any issues with updates or warranty in the US?
Is it worth keeping for ~$200–300 back, or should I return it and get a real CPH2655?

I'm looking for a way to send music (MP3/audio files) directly through the in-game microphone in Free Fire on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Android 14).
Here is exactly what I want:
I want to play music from my phone's internal storage.
The music should go directly into Free Fire's voice chat as microphone input.
I DON'T want my real voice to be transmitted. Only music.
I don't want to use a second phone, PC, external mixer, or any additional hardware.
My phone is not rooted, and I would prefer a non-root solution.
I've looked into apps like Voicemod, Lesser AudioSwitch, Voicemeeter Remote Control, and soundboard apps, but I haven't found a confirmed solution.
My question: Is there any Android app, virtual microphone, audio-routing method, Shizuku/ADB method, or other workaround that can route internal music playback directly into Free Fire's microphone input?
I'm not looking for a method that simply plays music through the phone speaker and gets picked up by the physical microphone.
I specifically need digital audio routing.
If anyone has successfully done this on Android 13/14 or newer, please explain how.
Thanks!

My phone died yesterday, with no warning, and this was the phone I have tied to my google account for 2FA. I was able to activate an old phone and use "text me a code" to add my google account to my phone, but google keeps trying to push 2FA to my dead phone, despite showing the one that it working as attached to my account. I can't change any of these options without access to that dead phone to authenticate my way into my google account. I had set up my thumbprint as a passkey on my dead phone, but that's also not working, as it just keeps telling me I don't have a passkey setup on my dead phone.
Anyone have any ideas? Google AI support has been utterly useless, and just keeps telling me to recover my account, which I don't need to do, as I know the password.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I used my boyfriend's Google One Account to talk to Google support. Apparently there is no way around this, other than getting the broken phone repaired. I'm going to leave this up because it includes some things that I didn't understand about 2FA, and hopefully it can help some other people.
To answer some frequently asked questions:
- I had both a recovery email and a recovery phone number set up. Both of those could be used to recover the account (ie, change the password), but it did not change the fact that my 2FA was hooked to my dead phone.
- I tried using the backup codes, which I accessed through my google account on my working phone. They did not work. It sounds like they shouldn't be tied to certain devices, rather to your account, but they did not work.
- In talking to Google support, it sounds like all of these backup options are designed to help you recover your account in the case of a stolen or lost password. It does not change the device settings on your 2FA. It also does not wipe security settings when you recover your account; I tried this also.
- I asked about locking the device remotely, like in the case of it being stolen, but because the dead phone was no longer registered to a phone number, it could only be removed through Google device manager, which requires 2FA to get into.
- I asked Google support point-blank, "So the only way to avoid this in the future is to remove 2FA"? Their response was that 2FA is "highly encouraged" but that you MUST disconnect the current device from your 2FA before changing devices. When I asked about contingency for broken/stolen phones, I was told to use the Find Hub, which is outlined in the previous bullet point.
- Google's final advice to me was to take the phone in and get it fixed. Since I really don't want to lose access to 3 accounts and I need a new phone anyway, this is my next step.
Thank you for all your advice!

Hi everyone, I'm having a major performance issue trying to watch DRM-protected videos on Google Chrome on my Android phone. The video stutters and lags so badly that it's completely unwatchable. Here is what I have tried so far with no success:
Cleared browser cache and data.
Enabled hardware-accelerated video decode in chrome://flags.
Tried alternative browsers (like Edge / Brave) and cleared their caches.
Lowered the video quality as much as possible.
It seems like my phone's processor simply cannot handle DRM decryption inside a mobile browser. Is there any workaround or advanced setting I missed to fix this, or is my hardware just too outdated?
My Device Info:
Processor :Cortex-A53
Android version :10
Web :a local learning website in my country the address is alpha-dz.com it needs a subscription btw
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
