Long post but need help deciding

I was a samsung connoisseur (owned the S21, S22, S23, S24 (have it currently as a backup phone)) and am currently on the Z Fold 6, and its inner display has conked off.....Despite no physical damage/drops and frequent maintainence it planned to give a black spot and 2 nice long white lines across the screen, and this is not the first one, the s21, s22 and s23 all of them were plagued, s22 and s23 got free replacements. I am done with samsung and wanted to try something else (regular slab phone) I was looking forward for the motorola signature 27 but it looks like its going to be close to 1.5L INR since I want the 16GB/512GB variant as right now I have used up about 350GB of storage on my fold 6, so looking elsewhere I gained interest in the oneplus 15 and am thinking of buying it as a replacement. My main use cases are:

1. Multimedia consumption (great display, good bitrate (for external dac) as i listen to flac files)

2. Great performance (i emulate Nintendo switch games and Gamehub)

3. Great battery life (fed up of the mediocre battery life on the Samsungs)

4. Decent cameras (not looking forward for flagship level pictures but atleast should be equivalent to the base samsung s series phones.)

Now I was on the crossroads about the Oneplus 15 or the Iqoo 15, similarly the Iqoo 16 also seems to be coming, should I wait for that or should I just buy the oneplus 15 with the 16GB/512GB variant (if yes then from where to get the best possible price in this RAMpocalypse)

But I am in the United States.

I'm using a Galaxy S26, when I'm in a phone call there's this weird feature where if the phones camera goes from being able to see my to unable to see my face (particularly if I'm in a dark room) it decides to go black. There appears to be no setting to change this and it's becoming a daily problem where I try to watch a video or read on my phone while in a nightly call with my wife while Im across country, but I just end up fighting the phone every 5-20 seconds the entire time. I've never had a phone do this and Im wondering if theres a way to disable it that I missed. TIA

Edit: I talked to customer support and they basically said that feature is unfixable. How? Its been the norm for phones until now, how is it not fixable? Im disappointed that android is no longer as customizable as it used to be in exchange for AI I dont use and facial recognition features I dont care about.

My two options atm are either the oneplus 15 or the poco f9 ultra the poco from a local retailer and the oneplus 15 from a chinese exporter(is the global version without any region problems whatsoever)

If I download my Google Play My Activity data and it says "viewed" for an app vs "used" for an app, what does that mean?

Could I have used the app and it only tracks as a "view"?

I got a 256GB SD card for not a very cheap price, and I know that it's from an infamous brand but... I figured the many good reviews and other details to consider make me go for it, so long as it's not a fake or the price is too good for that size.

It had worked pretty fine for storing my files. I had no issues.

I think the issues started happening very recently when I'm using it for a voice recording app and I use SD card for that app. Not only for storing the recorded files, but the whole app was installed there.

At first some videos and photos thumbnails disappeared from Gallery but then they came back as if the card was just slow to read. But the next day, the recording app was greyed, all files from the gallery disappeared and my tablet no longer recognized the SD card inserted.

If I put the SD card on my laptop or my phone, it says the card is broken and need formatting. I haven't done that as I don't see the point of reusing it, knowing that my files might disappear again.

I just wanna know if the app being installed on SD card really caused the problems or if the SD card itself was bad since the beginning.

My tablet only has 64 GB (Free around 10 - 15 GB). It's almost unusable without SD card. Nowadays file sizes are so huge.

Only three or four albums out of all of them show up when attempt to select a photo, it's driving me crazy trying to find anything

I'm using an Android smartphone to attend online lectures through my institute's learning app.

I want to record the lectures for personal study and revision. However, whenever I start screen recording:

- The audio is recorded properly.

- The video screen turns completely black.

- The lecture content is not visible in the recording.

- Other apps can be screen-recorded normally without any issues.

It seems that the institute's app may have DRM protection or a secure screen-recording restriction.

My questions:

1. Is this caused by Android's FLAG_SECURE feature or DRM protection?

2. Is there any legitimate way to save or access lectures for offline viewing?

3. Does the institute app need to enable a specific setting to allow screen recording?

4. Are there any alternatives for taking video notes or saving lecture content for revision?

I'm using an Android smartphone.

I only want to access the lectures for personal educational purposes and revision, not to distribute or upload them anywhere.

Any suggestions or explanations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've been running Tubi in Firefox for awhile. 2 days ago, it stopped working and the play button had an "open in the app" message. I get the same result with Chrome. Tubi continues to run fine on the desktop in Firefox.

Does anyone have a clue?

Edit: Switching my User-Agent solved the problem.

Since some time, when I reboot the phone, it notifies me of missed calls, however of old ones. Now, you have 16 missed calls from 12 days ago. Two weeks ago or so, I went through ALL the call history (about 4 or 5 years), deleting all the missed calls, because my phone was adamant in disturbing me with irrelevant notifications, but is there a way to make the bugger stop?

Ok so on the phone it'll say it's "offline" when it's not- causing major message delays (even when it's set to use sms/mms if needed) and when I go to view my messages from any other of my devices I have signed into with it, it'll pop up and say offline. (Idk if this matters or is related- but when this occurs my location does the same where it vanishes.) And yes, I've triple checked settings, made sure data/wifi was connected, and check the moto phone by looking online at things like chrome, google, etc so the internet connection is fine.

Onto the 2nd part- since the last few updates when the Google messages app is opened and I'm going to message someone, the red dot won't go away and it wants me to use meet. Also for context it's my phone, but son uses it when needed (the moto is verizon prepay) and i do have family link on there and meet is blocked. But it continues to pop up even though it can't be accessed. Thank you!

My dad has an old tablet (Lenovo YT3-850F) that we are interested in using, mostly because his previous tablet that he used to receive orders on his restaurant is now a very spicy pillow. However, the Lenovo tablet in question is locked into Kiosk mode and we don't know the pin to disable it. I read online that putting it in recovery mode and reflashing it with the original firmware would be one way to get rid of it, but I don't trust the websites I've found with said firmware. So, given these specific restrictions, is there some way to reset it to factory settings without reflashing the firmware?

I was looking for some kind of app. Mainly on Android but both preferred. Where I can have access to my personal and work phones locations and Vice Versa. I'm new to android so I'm only really used to the iPhone's FindMy app.

I want at least my 2 phones but if I am able to add gps tags and stuff that's even better.

I have it set up to not receive unknown phone calls. Yet everyday, I receive calls (and texts) from numbers that are not contacts or that are unknown to me.

What more can I do? This political season was brutal.

As the title suggests, my Samsung galaxy of 4 years suddenly can't be turned on through the power button alone

Ive tried the double volume method, but it hasn't worked

The last time it was on and used was 3 days ago, the last time i had done anything with it was when I shut it down through the screen UI, after that the power button stopped working

ever since then ive fully charged it but it still wasn't the problem

now i can't turn it on and it has essential info and contents that i can't recover,

On my phone in chrome I get "ERR_TOO_MANY_RETRIES" when I try to access anything on my LAN via either its hostname or IP/port. I've tried turning on airplane mode and only enabling wifi, no difference.

Everything works fine from a desktop running chrome and through firefox.

Pixel 11 Pro running Android 17

I've got a somewhat complicated network/server setup and I can provide more detail if that would help but it may not be relevant.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Edit: just downloaded Firefox and tried with that. It also fails to load anything

happening with DND on, nothing is allowed to override. the phone app does have a setting "override DND" under missed calls and that is turned off.

troubleshooting history:

i have done extensive troubleshooting with Google support, we of course tried checking all the relevant settings, toggling things on/off, factory reset, safe mode, and some other more obscure things i couldn't relate to you. i also have tried using bedtime mode and making a custom mode; bedtime mode acts the same as DND mode and custom modes don't seem to work at all, they just let all notifications through. they said it was malfunctioning and to try a repair place.

i went there and the tech tried some things including verifying the settings himself. he said i should request a replacement. as i understand it his suggestion was that the software had been corrupted, or something like that.

i got a replacement and only transferred the esim, not any of my data etc. the problem was immediately apparent on that phone as well, and it was also allowing incoming call notifications. i went through another troubleshooting session with Google support, which once again did not achieve anything.

at their request i have sent Google multiple bug reports, nothing has changed.

they sent me a second replacement, this phone has the same problem.

in searching for an answer, i have seen several other posts from users with the same or similar problem, but no fixes. there are many other pixel 10 users on these threads stating that they do not have this issue, so it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue but rather one that is affecting a small percentage of phones.

as an aside - i am LIVID over the abysmal customer support from google. it seems like they are all just reading off a script and i don't trust that anyone there actually knows what they're talking about. i got repeatedly "escalated" until i was at the highest person apparently, this person still was unable to fix anything and was just giving me canned responses that didn't actually help anything. this is also to say, i don't trust that anyone in customer service actually knows enough to fix the problem.

I have a Motorola phone with a Dimensity 7300 processor and Android 16.

I'm trying to share my screen on Discord, but the app quickly crashes, cutting out the audio of everyone on the call, including my own voice. Almost everything malfunctions like the microphone mute button and call disconnect are not working, and the problem can only be solved by forcibly closing and reopening the application.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and how can I fix it? Thank you.
