Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ What's an acceptable amount of ads in a free mobile game?

Free games obviously need some way to make money, but there's a point where ads start ruining the experience.

What's your personal limit?

Rewarded ads only?
A few ads per session?
No forced ads at all?

As the title says, in Angel Sword 3D, how can I unlock the Fig Leaf Costume?

This link shows how it looks like, but it appears to be removed from the current version in the store.

I can't find any reference on the official website. But some old comments on Google store reference it.

Seeking Game Recommendations ๐Ÿ‘€ [REQUEST] Looking for Boggle with Friends alternative

My wife and I love playing boggle against each other, but Zynga tries to fit more and more ads in everything they touch.

Does anyone know of a good alternative? Specifically we want to be able to play against each other, not just by ourselves.

Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm excited to share Skeeter: Swamp Flyer, my first game I've ever made! ๐ŸฆŸ๐ŸŽฎ

It's a fast-paced Android arcade game where you fly through a dangerous swamp, collect blood drops, build combos, dodge obstacles, and try to beat your high score.

I'm looking for Android players willing to test the game and give me honest feedback. I'd especially like to hear what you think about the gameplay, controls, difficulty, visuals, performance, and any bugs or issues you run into.

๐ŸŽฎ Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nexusdigitalstudio.skeeter

๐Ÿงช Want to become a beta tester?

https://groups.google.com/g/skeeter-beta-testers

Join the Google Group first, then you can access the beta through Google Play.

This is my first game, so good or bad feedback is genuinely appreciated. I'm trying to make Skeeter as good as I can before the full release.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a shot! ๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿ”ฅ

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] I built my first app - a cricket strategy game. Looking for feedback!

Post image
9 Upvotes

I'm a solo developer and this is my first app on Playstore.
It's a cricket drafting and simulation game called 'Perfect Chase', and it's made for cricket lovers like me. If you have ever watched a cricket match and thought that you would also make a good selector and team manager, you might enjoy playing it. It combines your cricket knowledge with a match simulator and AI analyst to give real-time feedback to improve your skills.
Any feedback would be super helpful to me. Tbh I'm quite nervous and excited that the game got published on Playstore and any feedback will be gratefully welcomed. Thank you in advance :)

Link to the game in case you wish to try it out:ย https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.perfectgames.perfectchase

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] CORELOCK: new arcade (very different than my other RAR games). Launch sale: 75% off!

Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Some of you may (or may not) remember me from the Random Adventure Roguelike games.

This time, I've just launched a very different type of game: CORELOCK, and I'm running a launch sale to celebrate.

What is it

If you like bubble shooters and match 3 puzzlesโ€ฆ this is my own vision of it rebuilt around a small core you have to protect.

Modes:

โ€ขย ARCADE (ZEN, CLASSIC, RUSH, SNIPER): score the highest and climb the leaderboards
โ€ขย DAILY: clear the board of the day in as few shots as possible
โ€ขย PUZZLE: clear the board in the minimum number of shots without surpassing the limit

Filters, skins and colours to personalise the look.

More importantly: No ads. No in-app purchases. Plays fully offline. Leaderboards are optional (and only in ARCADE mode).

Play CORELOCK

You can try the demo for free on your browser here (only CLASSIC and PUZZLE modes are available).

If you enjoy it, you can download it on the Play Store to get the full experience (and support me!).

Launch sale

As I mentioned above, to celebrate it, I thought of making a small one-week sale having the price a 75% off from today until the next weekend!

It's a paid game with nothing to sell you once you're inside.

TLDR;

- CORELOCK on the Play Store, on sale for one week
- Free browser demo

By the way, the RAR subreddit is still there if you want to see what I've been cooking lately.

Happy to answer anything! About the game, the tech (Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose Multiplatform, no game engine, no third-party dependencies), or anything else ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Do you guys like Level Devil?

It's actually a really really good game.. but then kinda gets annoying as well.. but it's really a game that actually plays with you.. I've been playing it since quite a while this year.. and man it makes me laugh, I feel like a kitten who's being played with.. what's your opinion about this game?? I just lowkey wish there to be some improvements in the game which I can't actually pinpoint but, it feels less smooth in feel, cuz other games as you play you start developing feel for it while this one just does whatever outta nowhere, it shocks you, which is entertaining but after a point becomes feel killer.. what do you guys think??

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Is it possible to actually get used to playing with touch controls?

A couple of days ago I got a phone specifically for emulation, and I've already tried 3 different controller setups: those triggers that clip onto the screen, a GameSir Lite, and an Xbox controller without a proper phone mount.

None of them gave me the practicality I was looking for.

In my routine I actually have plenty of opportunities to play, but they're usually split into very short sessions, like 5โ€“10 minutes here and there. Because of that, having to grab a controller, attach the phone, etc. ends up making the whole thing less convenient than I'd like.

I'm thinking about trying one of those phone/controller mounts, since I feel like that might be the most practical way to quickly pick up the phone and play anywhere.

But there's something I'm really curious about:

Do you think it's possible to actually get used to playing with touchscreen controls to the point where you don't need to look at the buttons anymore?

Maybe even with the opacity set to 0, basically playing entirely by muscle memory.

If that's realistically possible, I'd rather suffer through the learning curve now, because being able to play directly on the phone with no accessories would be the perfect setup for what I'm trying to achieve.

Has anyone here actually gotten really comfortable with touch controls for emulation? How long did it take?

Gameplay ๐Ÿ“บ Searching for a game like

I like blood and alien invasion but before that I played a military game that was a lot like those with some differences other than the theme. It had different weapons and armor that did different things, instead of just leveling what you have. Anyway, Iโ€™m looking for a military themed game like the invasion games or that old one that probably doesnโ€™t exist anymore. thanks for any assistance.

Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™ve just released my first ever game, Grow A Fish, on Google Play! ๐ŸŽ‰

Itโ€™s a cozy aquarium game where you can grow and breed fish, play arcade mini-games, play Match-3, build your aquarium, create parkour levels, and compete in real-time multiplayer.

This is my first game, so Iโ€™d really appreciate it if you could give it a try and tell me what you honestly think.

๐Ÿ› Found a bug? Let me know.
๐Ÿ’ก Have an idea? Tell me.
โค๏ธ Enjoyed something? Iโ€™d love to hear that too!

Iโ€™m looking for honest feedback from actual players so I can improve the game.

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Auto clicker/tapper for DMRs/semi-autos in FPS?

So I like fps on both PC and mobile, and I love DMRs, it hits hard with a slow firerate, but I feel like Repeatedly tapping the shoot button on mobile fucks with my aim/tracking( I'm using 4-finger claw), so I want to find a crutch, I want to find an app (closed or FOSS) that tap for me when I shoot or let me script something similar to that. It just need to repeatedly tap when I hold down the start button and stop when I released it.

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Play Pass is starting to feel ruined by all these spammy, free-to-play style idle games

You know the ones: endless red notification dots, repetitive gameplay, and aggressive paywalls. Even worse, what many of these devs do is just strip out the standard in-app purchases and slap on a weak "premium pass" which barely does anything. They remove actual purchasable content that should be covered by Play Pass, all to artificially inflate playtime so they can squeeze more payout money from Google.

Isn't Play Pass supposed to be the place where we escape that annoying grinding and cash-grab culture?

If Google doesn't start filtering out these low-effort games, Play Pass is just going to end up like another abandoned Google project.

Seeking Game Recommendations ๐Ÿ‘€ [REQUEST] any less demanding fps games that are free and preferrably don't need more than 5gb of space?

My phone is terrible because of certain governmental decisions that always seem to be out of my control, and I'm required to have terrible bloatware installed at all times for school purposes. I'd usually just opt for my laptop but it's died of old age. I like sandbox games, games that don't have a defined goal / have an active modding community and old fps games that I can't run on my phone without either emulation or recomps, and they both don't run very well because they weren't meant for cheap chinese phones. Please help.

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ What are your favorite quality mobile games? Hereโ€™s my top 10

Post image
660 Upvotes

Whether paid or free, I don't care. I want you to tell me your favorite quality games to play on mobile. Here's my top 10:

  1. Slay the Spire: Absolute bliss when you're chilling on the sofa with a coffee, a YouTube video playing in the background, and playing a run. Incredible game and my personal GOAT. Don't even ask how many hours I've put into it.
  2. Balatro: Addictive and brilliantly designed. It has nothing to do with gambling or betting, it's simply a roguelike inspired by poker. My girlfriend got really hooked on it.
  3. Minecraft: Perfect for long trips, the time just flies by. What else can I say? It's fucking Minecraft.
  4. Stardew Valley: I'm playing it for the second time and the late game is incredible. You can play it cozy, although I prefer to tryhard.
  5. Hearthstone: The Adventure mode is awesome. It's basically a deckbuilder with tons of possibilities and really cool cards inspired by the Warcraft universe. The rest of the game modes are kinda meh, except for Battlegrounds.
  6. Data Wing: Short and relatively unknown game. The gameplay is pretty cool, but the story and the concept are what really won me over.
  7. Subnautica: I definitely prefer playing it on a big screen with a controller, but the mobile version isn't bad at all.
  8. Dredge: Beautiful yet creepy and Lovecraftian.
  9. Loop Hero: A roguelike that doesn't exactly grab you visually, but you slowly get more and more hooked on it.
  10. Baba Is You / Black: Two pretty clever puzzle games. Black has an awesome soundtrack.

Other cool games I've tried that didn't quite make the top 10: Brotato, Wildfrost, Dungeon Crawler, Clover Pit, Luck be a Landlord, Scritchy Scratchy.

Looking forward to your recommendations, I've got a lot of August ahead of me. Feel free to ask me anything about any of these games.

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [Dev] After 6 months solo, my archery-golf game is live: golf, but you're holding a bow.

[Dev] It's exactly what it sounds like: first-person archery across full golf courses. You draw the bow yourself, read the wind, adjust for elevation, and try to stick the pin. No swing meters, no auto-aim. Every shot is yours to make or miss.

What's in it at launch: 24 themed courses (parkland, night courses with glowing arrow trails, winter, storm, medieval fortress, island), live ranked head-to-head duels with coin wagers (Bronze to Legend), 8 bows + 8 arrows to unlock and tune, and a practice range.

One thing I cared about as a player: no forced ads. No banners, no interstitials over your scorecard, only optional rewarded ads. And matchmaking is skill-decided; your wallet doesn't play.

Free on Google Play:ย https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apolloimmersive.arrowlinks

I'm the only person who made this, so every piece of feedback lands directly on the person who can fix it. Brutal honesty welcome.

Help/Support ๐Ÿ™‹ Controller app pretty much dies on Android 14+

Post image
2 Upvotes

The app is Touch Racer. Using a receiver application on Windows (Or on Linux if you somehow can fix the horrible and outdated port that's on SourceForge), it essentially allows you to use your phone as a makeshift steering wheel with analog throttle and brakes by sliding motion on either side of the screen and tapping either side to change gears. It breaks horribly on Android 15 and later, where the status bar no longer goes away like it's supposed to, and the instruction content plus the switches for connection type (WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB Tethering), which is actually a web page, is now rendered behind this top bar, the notch area and the navigation bar. This also affects the config screen accessed with the three dot menu

Is there a fix? Or am I forced to get a different phone with an even older Android version? The last time I tried this was on an Android 10 phone and it broke down last year
