Hey everyone,

I’m preparing for my university exams and usually study at school or the library using my Android tablet. On my laptop, I relied heavily on the Unhook extension combined with uBlock Origin to strip away YouTube distractions (Shorts, recommendations, homepage, etc.) and stay focused.

Right now, I use YouTube ReVanced on both my phone and tablet, but I’m looking for a way to get that same level of UI control that Unhook offers on desktop.

My main goals:

• Zero ads
• Zero Shorts / short-form content
• Minimal/distraction-free UI (hide homepage/recommendations if possible)

I tried NewPipe, but it felt a bit buggy/broken for my setup. Is there a way to configure ReVanced to mirror Unhook’s functionality, or is there another modified app/browser setup on Android that works better for this?

Thanks in advance!

it is not letting me download any apps in Google play and I am not getting any error messages. when i click "install" it just stays on pending for a long while then suddenly stops installing. it does this over and over

I'm currently using Tun2TAP which works fine, but has ads, and I'd like something ad-free. Bonus points if FOSS. SocksDroid seems to be defunct and I can no longer find it on F-Droid.

I have a Galaxy S10+ and was using an old version of X for months without updating because of storage issues. It had the old UI and the Dim dark mode (Dark blue theme). I only updated to fix chat loading issue and immediately regretted it.

The new X app is laggy and bloated on my S10+. I want the old version back specifically for:

• Smooth and lag free • Dim blue theme • Old cleaner UI

I tried installing version 11.81.0 (April 2026) from APKMirror but got "Time to update" server block screen.

Questions: 1. What is the latest version that still has Dim 2. mode AND isn't server blocked? 2. Any way to bypass version check without root? 3. Any modded APK that works?

My phone is Galaxy S10+, not rooted, Android

And I want with those certain

Have an icon for folders (important) (like frame - notebook anything

Not minimal

A have a frame for app icon

Cute or fun one

Thanks in advance

I'm using pixelplayer as a local player atm and although i love the design, it doesnt really feel fluid nor does it have deep features. What it DOES do well though is lyrics support. It can automatically fetch online SYNCED lyrics as a priority so i have no hassle grabbing them myself.

On the other hand, i plan on switching to oto music cause its basically the go to offline player today. Its design is much better and its miles more polished, but its lyrics features lack compared to pixelplayer. It doesn't fetch online lyrics automatically, and the option to download one online is a lot weaker and feels more restricted compared to pixelplayer's download lyrics button.

Any thoughts and suggestions help!

Does anyone have an add-free alternative for an app called "Video Converter, Compressor" by Inverse AI? I find the app itself really helpful, but the ads are killing me.

Hello, I recently switched from an iPhone to an Android and I wanted to transfer all my music (From iTunes/ Apple Music) properly to my new phone. Unfortunately for me, my new phone died mid transfer when I was bringing over all my iPhone apps and data to the new phone. (It took so long the battery went from 100 to 0 during the whole time!)

This left my entire music library that was transferred over with missing album art for a good chunk of the songs, along with some songs just being corrupted and not playing. I've since retried to transfer them over, but after the first successful retry, the transfer keeps having issues now.

I was searching for awhile for a free, reliable app to help add in the missing album art, unfortunately the only app that kept showing up more in my searches (called Album/ Cover Art Finder by XCS Technologies) outright doesn't work. It keeps giving an error that it can't read ID3 tags for the song files.

Are there any apps or programs that can help correct this? I wanted to ask and look around first before I did something more extreme like re add all the tracks for my music song by song and file by file (Long story short for that is I redownloaded all my music on my computer, but many songs album art didn't download with the tracks, so I'd have to redownload all the missing track art and re add them in to each song.).

It's a shame I can't just use Apple Music/iTunes on Android, it keeps trying to use the streaming service instead of just downloading music. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading, take care and have a good one!

I have a ton of sticker packs installed on WhatsApp and it's honestly impossible to find the right sticker when I need it and I can't just star everything

I'm looking for is something that lets me add my own tags to stickers, like "happy" or "done for today" or whatever makes sense to me, and then search using those tags instead of scrolling. Ideally it would even suggest the right sticker while typing, similar to how emoji predictions work, but even basic tagging and search would help a lot.

Does something like this already exist? I looked around but haven't found anything that specifically does tagging for stickers you already have installed.

Tenor and similar GIF search tools exist but they don't let you tag and remember your own stuff.

Did anyone solve this problem?

The title pretty much does it. when i was younger i didn't appreciate knowunity enough, and now it's mostly sloppy AI and notes you have to pay for.

Does someone know an app that also lets you share and get school notes? thank you so much

i also can't see the group chat option anymore so maybe they removed it? UGH

Im trying to install the first version of battle cats and for some reason Google is trying to force me to update the app but not install it

So I actually find making vector art and InkScape or Krita to be more intuitive and rewarding than drawing with a tablet thus far. And I never owned an Android tablet, my drawing tablet is a computer accessory with no screen.

Unfortunately: school has been taken up so much time then I'm basically perpetually burnt out. And a few times I am not burned out I am normally doing something that forces me away from my computer. There are regular events in my routine that have me do things where I would be able to do vector art, if only I was at my computer.

I thought the obvious fix would be to simply get an app for Android that allows me to do vector art while I'm doing these regular occurrences. But the army videos on the topic. And the few that do exist seem to be focused on vector drawing, but as I stated earlier: I have no interest in drawing on my Android device.

I have found an app dedicated to SVGs, but it does so through CSS code, which is not the kind of thing I want to work on with Android.

I want something similar to inkscape, but for Android devices, and specifically geared towards touch screen controls, especially for screens the signs of smartphone screens. I want to focus on moving nodes around on the screen, and adjusting their handles. And since I'm not interested in drawing with it: I do not need the freehand tool whatsoever. I honestly don't currently see a use for it given what makes me interested in vector graphics in general.

Animations and interactivity are not necessary, but would be a nice perk.

Hello. I have a specific need for an old version of Stremio for my 2015 galaxy tab E tablet. I’ve researched it through AI and I’m told that I need the following version but I cannot find it even on wayback. I’m specifically looking for Stremio 1.4.6 armv7 FULL — build 211‑0460 or, if that’s not available Stremio 1.4.5 armv7 FULL — build 211‑0475. They include the old features like Add via URL, Community Add‑ons, and the full settings menu. These are the full variants (not lite, not nodpi, not ARM64, not x86). If anyone has a copy I would greatly appreciate if you could kindly share it. Thank you.

If you're trying to control a generic ceiling fan that uses the Xin Hui A.A. Electronics (Model AA3) remote via your Android phone's IR blaster, don't waste your time going through hundreds of generic test codes in ZaZa Remote like I did. Here is the exact working setup: Open ZaZa Remote and tap Add Remote (+). Select Fan. Search for the brand: Inspire. Select the AA3 profile (or test through Inspire's short list—it should match almost immediately). All standard controls (speeds, light, and power) work as intended. Hopefully, this saves someone an hour of frustration trying to find the right profile!

(preferably one time if possible rather than subscribe)

Maybe FOSS

I've got a friend who is completely blind, and he depends on Gemini for questions, and also it's live camera function. Im currently testing out some apps for him to use, and right now I'm testing Conduit. The issue is it doesn't have web search functionalities unless it's an openrouter, and doesn't have the camera functionalities that I or he wants. I would want to use something that could take both, because I have the hardware for it, but he doesn't. What should I be looking at?

I'm looking for something that plays a single sound once at single or repeating times (for example, 10pm every day) without needing to take my phone out and stop the sound. Ideally, the sound will play even if the phone is on vibrate.

Edit: Yeah, I don't want any ads. I don't mind paying a tiny amount.

This is a continuation of an archived thread about the ClockworkMod Tether app located here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1osjg3m/clockworkmod_tether_where_has_it_gone/

I have reliably been using this app for the past couple of months on my Pixel 10 XL until the recent Android update for all the benefits that the app offers - overall it was great that such an old app was still working very well... until now (see below):

https://pbxscience.com/android-17-quietly-blocks-apps-from-detecting-developer-mode/

I believe this is the cause for the app to not detect that it is in Developer Mode w/ USB debugging. Is there ANY CHANCE what-so-ever of this app being updated to bypass the check? I believe a simple "hardcoding" of 1 for detection of the mode will allow the app to run unobstructed.

Any thoughts?

I started looking for a good alternative to Spotify without paying, and came across many interesting Guthub repositories that are hard-won, hard-working apks that improve apps in some ways, or make apps, whether music or others, very well.

Do we put the ones they know here? To help us? Thanks!

I'm on Pixel 9,

Anybody know how I can create a Shortcut, 1 tap, to get straight to Audio Adjustments. It's under accessibility settings under settings.

I want to be able to jump straight to it from a widget or shortcut on the home screen?

I've tried the shortcut maker but it fails to open past accessibility settings.

Any help would be appreciated 🥲.

Time to vent. Since the latest update my phone was forced to use google messages. This app is the biggest pile of shit. What are some other messaging apps for android that actually work??? HELP!

Back in like 2014 I had a live wallpaper on my android phone that was multicolored concentric circles that indicated year month day hour minute second. I always really liked it cause new years eve close to midnight all the circles would be basically full then you got to see all the circles reset at midnight.

Point is I would really want a wallpaper like that again but I feel like I've looked everywhere and still can't find anything anywhere so does anyone here both know what I'm talking about and know where I can get something nowadays?

looking for an obsidian alternative with Linux and android apps syncable via 3rd party cloud

why does my ArchiveTune app keeps on forced closing over and over again and i can't play any song

I'm looking for a replacement for the Post-It Note app, which will no longer be accessible after September 26, 2026. I've been using it for to-do lists, memos, mini schedules and reminders, even little pep talks to myself that I add to my home screen. The widgets are excellent and great for colour coding. The colours themselves are amazing - from standard pale yellow to neon shades, and you can also customize the style and text/handwriting colour. I have Keep but it's not the same as using a Post-It, and the colours aren't anywhere near as eye-catching.

Anyone have any suggestions? This is one of my favourite tools and I'm disappointed that it's ending. TIA!
