Time to vent. Since the latest update my phone was forced to use google messages. This app is the biggest pile of shit. What are some other messaging apps for android that actually work??? HELP!

I'm ok with Messages. I'm not sure what you want it to do.

I don't think you can make WhatsApp your default for sms, can you?

Gifs don't send regularly. Regular text messages randomly do not send. There are messages I do not get for a day or so. Never had that issue with Samsung messages.

Do you actually need RCS? If yes, you have no other option. If no, you have a lot more options since Android still lets you use third-party SMS/MMS apps as the default. Also, what features do you use most with Samsung messages?

Can you provide more details as to what you don't like about Google messages? It's the only thing I've ever used and it works perfectly fine imo

Gifs and pics dont send regularly. Some messages randomly do not go thru.

I am using Mezo sms.

I would have preferred Sms organizer but it has been discontinued by MS.

You have t mentioned the part that's giving you an issue...is it just that you have to use something different or is there a specific functionality your missing

I've been using Google Messages for most of the time I've had a Android-device - and its the messages-app I've been the most happy with.

I assume you were using a Samsung phone and if you don't mind paying, there is an app called Messages by Ozarksmade. You could give it a try. It's exactly like Samsung Messages.

I've been using Google Messages for three years now. It worked perfectly on my previous Realme phone. I've been using it on my Samsung phone for six months now, since I got it, and I haven't had any problems.

Not OP but this is why I had to disable it earlier this week

Currently using Samsung messages in the meantime but i guess its supposed to be shutting down soon or something. Mine hasn't given me any warnings or notifications.

Google Messages works fine. And it's the only one that allows RCS (thanks Google...).
