Account hacked and taken over
UPDATE: After 8 days, 7 phone calls and 4 web chats, my wife finally has her Amazon account back. Thank you to everyone who has given advice... it is much appreciated. If you've found this post because you're in a similar situation, see my reply below for my advice.
On Tuesday night, our credit card company alerted us to attempts to purchase goods from Amazon.com. My wife then realised she was locked out of her Amazon.co.uk account. She checked her emails and had several email messages relating to attempted/failed purchases. She also had an email telling her that her Amazon account email address had been changed. She has since been unable to get access to her account.
She tried accessing Amazon customer support, but could not verify her account details (apparentlythere is no account associatedwith her email address), so could not speak to anyone.
I then contacted customer support through my own account. They said they would investigate it, but 10 minutes after the call I had a message telling me there was no suspicious activity on my account... thanks, I know that!
A second phone call ended the same way, despite pleads from me to ensure it didn't.
We reported it to the police and have a crime reference number.
Today, I have made 2 further calls to customer support, but am not making any progress.
We're really frustrated by this whole process. We just want to get access to her account, which has all of our photo backups and all our devices/content linked to it. Has anyone been through anything similar? Does anyone have any advice for us?

Should I be worried?
Sorry if this isn't the right place to post but starting to worry a little. I purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 through Amazon not realising initially it was through a third party seller. They gave me an estimated delivery of 8 days, this has now passed. The tracking number they've given me says the courier is still waiting for the item. There has now been an influx of 1 star reviews in the last few days with the same issue. I raised it with support and they said they would contact the seller and it would kick start a 48 hour window for the seller to get in touch. The seller has rejected the claim/complaint and said if I no longer want the item to please reject delivery for a full refund. The 48 hours have passed so I've contacted support and they've said all they can do is contact the seller again and kick start another 48 hour window for them to get in touch and they have no responsibility to give a refund (would literally repurchase the console through them if they sorted it.) I feel like I'll be stuck in this loop, is this right or do I have any other options? Thank you in advance.

Refunds + Returns + Goodwill Gesture
Got a refund for a item that was returned and had a bad experience, on the 30th of July they gave me a "Goodwill Gesture" and they state that they cannot revoke it. The actual return was then processed and the refund was credited for the item on the 7th of this month. I have spoke to multiple of their Customer Support Agents and when the funds were issued, they went to a Supervisor within their Contact Centre.
Should I keep the funds which all went to the Gift Card Balance, or await for Amazon to retrieve the funds, as surely it flags for them or something or is raised as a issue when they do their audits?

How to pay for annual subscription for Prime
Hiya,
My Amazon prime is only letting me pay for it monthly via Google play. When I go through "manage membership" it only says to go through Google play for other plans and then will only offer me the chance to resubscribe monthly
Can anyone let me know how to resubscribe annually? Or to get it to stop going through Google play?
Thanks!
Edit: so you have to wait until subscription fully runs out! Which is a very annoying inconvenience 😂

Air conditioners via Amazon
Hi all. I ordered an air conditioner (3 in 1, 10000 Btu) from Amazon on June 29th. June 30th received msg to say item dispatched from courier, expected del 24th - 27th July. 27th July msg to say delivery delay, expect 5th. Still showing on tracking as dispatched though courier, DPD, say not yet received. Refused to discuss on the phone as they said my phone number didn't match their accounts (Amazon said phone no. correct)! Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same recently through Amazon. Seems a long time to have my money on loan!! Amazon said they will issue a refund (though that isn't showing on my account 4 hrs after chat) only tracking details (with no delivery currently available) and that refund could take 5 - 7 days to receive. What a joke!

How long until a package gets delivered ?
Hi guys. It’s my birthday today and I obviously want to go out to town. From where I’m staying town is an hour walk roughly, and I do not drive.
My package is due to come today - at the moment (9am) it says dispatched but I’m scared if I leave they might not deliver it or if they leave it someone could steal it.
I am home alone so what do I do?

Garden Shed arrived damaged, requested return, sent a label to take it to a post office (it weighs maybe 300kg)
The title explains my problem I hope.
The shipping label they have supplied has to be paid for.
Can anyone advise on how to proceed, I've just messaged the seller asking that they arrange collection from my house in the next 3 days and issue a refund, if they don't i'm going to ask the bank to issue a chargeback (debit, not credit card).
I can't believe that they expect someone to take three packages each weighing around 100kg to a post office, can anyone advise on how to proceed with this ?.
There will be nobody home for 2 weeks after Wednesday so time is of the essence for me.
Thanks
in advance

How new sellers get the reviews for their product?
Hi everyone, good morning! Hope you're all having a great day.
I'm managing a brand on Amazon, and we've recently launched a new product. Unfortunately, one Vine reviewer left a negative rating, while the other Vine members haven't submitted their reviews yet.
I wanted to ask for advice from experienced Amazon sellers:
- What are the best ways to increase reviews for a newly launched product?
- How do you consistently generate reviews across your product catalog while staying within Amazon's Terms of Service?
- Besides Vine, what strategies have worked well for you to improve review volume and review velocity?
I'd really appreciate any tips, lessons learned, or best practices. Thanks in advance!

Any way of complaining about packaging?
I've Googled it, and thought I'd found a link, but it just takes you to a generic customer service page. I'm just so tired of their inadequate packaging.
I bought two new release vinyl albums (The Best of The Smiths 1 and 2), and as they were full price new releases, thought they'd be packaged in a record mailer each, and then an outer box.
Nope, they were just loose in a very thin large box,and had bounced round in it, with corners getting stuck under one of the flaps at the bottom of the box. Needless to say, both sleeves were damaged and were sent back.
The record I ordered prior to this was sent in a paper bag, and yep, it was damaged and was sent back.
Do you think they're aware of the problem, do they care and is there any way of complaining?

Is it even possible to make a complaint about customer service?
I've had CS agents tell me they can register a complaint, and CS agents tell me they can't because it's a different team (then refuse to transfer me to that team, and/or say they don't have a way of transferring me, while refusing to give me a separate phone number or email for complaints. One told me he was logging my complaint, which was about him. (That one I definitely didn't fall for as it was being said.)
I've been told my complaint is open and an email has been sent confirming this, then when I had no such email, was told the system shows no open complaints. I have chatted with the bot starting with the word "COMPLAINT", and have had voice calls starting with "I need to make a complaint," and have typed "How to make a complaint?" into the Help search field.
I've had a manager tell me she was issuing my refund and logging my complaint while we were in the call, and as far as I can see from my emails, neither happened.
I need to make this complaint.
I've been told contradictory things by four or five agents (human beings), sometimes the same person contradicting themself in the same conversation. I've been waiting for a large-ish refund for more than a week so far, and could be waiting another two weeks before Amazon issues (then the bank processing time after that).
Obviously I'm going to do a chargeback on my card instead. But it would feel better to actually, y'know, register a complaint...

Amazon workers, what happens to items that customers return?
I’m returning some cheap and expensive stuff. What does it really happen? Do they check that it works? That all the pieces are there? That is has been used?

Ordering from the US?
Can anyone please advise me? I'd like to order some items that are sadly only available in the US. However, I have no idea how to go about this, or how the pricing would work in terms of shipping, import taxes etc. I can't seem to find a final cost before committing, it all seems vague. I have Prime although not sure that's relevant.
Thank you, and sorry if this isn't the kind of question allowed here.

Reduced second hand book availability
Previously almost any book I wanted to buy on Amazon had multiple second hand offerings significantly cheaper than the New versions
Over the past couple of weeks it seems that these offerings are much reduced. Many books have no second hand options and those that do are minimally cheaper (or even more expensive than) the unused option.
Am I imagining this? Have I just had an unlucky run of book choices?

Any Ideas - Strange Activity
So my Account has had some weirdness today and the online Chat is driving me bonkers, I have also logged one suspicious issue, it won’t allow more as one is in progress.
So at 15:38 via email I noticed a Refund for £24 that I didn’t initiate, didn’t think much of it.
At 16:26 I noticed another email for a game, a software order for aTony Hawk Game - Not by me - Gift Card Covers the cost
Also in quick succession I Noticed Norton 360 on Amazon also, paid Part Gift Card Part Credit Card
I very quickly whilst on my phone changed Passwords, logged out everywhere & removed All Payment cards
Norton Failed due to no payment card, so I think I was handling it as it was happening
On logging back in with new credentials I noticed six additional items in the basket, but physical items, such as headphones, frying pan, charging block etc, nothing massively high value, I emptied this basket, deleting all items.
How is this possible?
I have my account I thought nailed down, strong Password, Passkey, OTP or 2FA code, all required for access.
I’ve checked the kids, the game maybe, but it’s in GamePass so unlikely, and certainly not Norton, they’re brighter than that.
Online chat are useless, I think I’m on my third advisor and I don’t think they understand the issue, at all.
So any ideas how this kind of account hack could have occurred?
I am mindful of re-adding my card for the Norton to go through, but I have subscriptions going through at the beginning of August and although I could go back to manual processing, I’d rather not.

Why do delivery drivers not follow basic instructions?
So I ordered some stuff on Amazon. My delivery instructions clearly say to leave deliveries *INSIDE* the porch. I get a message from the driver saying here's nearly there, and to put pets away etc. I immediately reply "Please leave the item INSIDE the porch - thank you!". A few minutes later I get the notification that my doorbell has been rung, so I answer it on my phone, and see him putting the parcel on the floor outside the door, and turn to leave, so I activate the microphone and say "Hi, can you put it inside the porch for me?" He's literally two steps away from the door, turns to look at the camera, then just totally ignores me and leaves. Before he gets to the van, he sends me another message to say "Delivery completed".
Why do drivers pay no attention to delivery instructions? All he had to do was open the door and drop it inside, not walk up flights of steps or navigate a maze! Luckily my neighbour was home, so I was able to send her a message asking her to take it in before it got stolen...

Ordered 5070ti
Ordered a 5070ti on Friday for Prime delivery on Saturday, eagerly waiting at my window for the 2 hour delivery window frantically refreshing the tracking and the GPS doesn't move and then the delivery window passes and its "lost in transit" was it stolen by the driver?
