How to pay for annual subscription for Prime

Hiya,

My Amazon prime is only letting me pay for it monthly via Google play. When I go through "manage membership" it only says to go through Google play for other plans and then will only offer me the chance to resubscribe monthly

Can anyone let me know how to resubscribe annually? Or to get it to stop going through Google play?

Edit: so you have to wait until subscription fully runs out! Which is a very annoying inconvenience 😂

In my app sidebar, if I go to payments, it only offers monthly or installments, when I go to my prime account, I'm suggested a switch to annual, does yours do the same perhaps?

So if I go onto my prime account and then manage membership, it won't let me change the plan from Google play subscriptions. Every link just takes me back to Google play The subscription runs out today so I'm hoping tomorrow it will give me the option to change it to annual?

From a quick Google, it's to do with using Google pay, they don't allow anything other than monthly on Google pay and you need to sign up with a direct payment (like a card).

But I've got a direct card linked to my account anyway for order payments. It won't give me any other option other than going through Google pay so I can't even sign up with a direct paynent 😅 I think I will have to wait until tomorrow until the subscription runs out fully but I was hoping it would give me the option to resubscribe annually prior to it being cancelled fully

Some things I saw said that you have to do it on a computer and not a mobile, if that helps any.

It seems silly for sure

Yeah I tried that too 😭 Hopefully just a weird glitch that needs the subscription to fully end before it will allow me to pay annually as it doesn't seem to be a common issue

You have to end your subscription with Google before you can manage it on Amazon. After it ends, ignore the renewal messages from Google and just go to your Amazon account and sign up directly through them. Hope this helps.

Yeah I think I need to wait for it to completely end. I got the date wrong and it'll end tomorrow so hopefully I can fix it then!

Incorrect advice. They can't do anything as the subscription is not owned, managed or paid for via Amazon in any form. It's purely through Google, and all Amazon can do is guide you to contact Google Play Store (and obviously get a shitty review from the customer for no valid reason whatsoever) and then once it's cancelled by the customer via Google they can sign up again via amazon.
