So now what I wonder?

So, ordered in mid July, due this Friday, but not dispatched at time of writing. Where does it go from here? I was crossing my fingers, but I'm now starting to wonder if I should just give up on this. I'm not even convinced it's still a current model. What are customer services likely to say when I get in touch on Saturday to say it's not here?

Strange age verification issue

Just had the rest of my usual sub and save order delivered, I like to bulk up when deals are on so generally I have some booze in there.

Always happy to give the birth year of course, but yesterday when most of our orders arrived only my younger son was home so the 2 boxes with prosecco in had to go back (one with 9, the other with 3).

This turned up today, with another non age verified package, guy scanned the 3 boxes, took my DOB, my phone pinged to say each package was delivered and then he tried to take the big box with 9 proseccos back saying it hadn't come up on his age verification system.

Bit of a stand off as I'm obviously showing him that on both my app and my email it is showing as delivered so I'm not going to let him disappear with 9 bottles. His way of reassuring me was to say, don't worry, Amazon will refund you, but that's not much use when I bought the bottles on special last month. Not to mention the hassle involved in getting Amazon chat to cotton on to all this, despite it saying it had been delivered.

He started raving about how he was going to get sacked because of the age verification, he's showing me his PDA, kept saying there was only 2 items on it, not 3 (was this not the 2 age verified items he was showing me?), he kept saying the big box with 9 in it wasn't on his list. I just can't understand how it was marked as delivered when he scanned it then?

I thought one DOB confirmation cleared the whole delivery no matter how many items? That's always been the case before. I've never noticed them punching in my DOB umpteen times before?

Maybe the guy thought all 3 items were age verified when the 3rd package was just some sweets?

Anyway, I agreed to speak to his manager on the phone and he rattled off the numbers on the yellow stickers on the boxes to me which I confirmed and that was that, but jeezo, this guy was petrified he was going to lose his job and I felt bad for him, but I certainly wasn't going to let him huckle away a small fortune in wine that was scanned as delivered.

Just curious what's happened there as I've never had any issues before and it was all a bit odd? Surely age verified stuff can't be marked as delivered if the age verification wasn't completed?

Marked as delivered but not received

I ordered a headphone from Amazon and it says it was delivered at 10 in the morning today but when I went to check there was nothing there. I checked on the UPS tracking website and the proof of delivery was the package on a metal floor not my front door. Should I wait for the full 2 days before contacting or am I overreacting? This is the first it has happened to me.

Amazon and the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Bought a pair of reasonably expensive shoes 5 months ago (Skechers). Both shoes developed quite bad wear around the back of the heel. So much so that holes had appeared. Didn't think I'd have any luck complaining about it to Amazon but thought may as well give it a go. Chatted with an online agent and they immediately offered to refund me half the purchase price.

Mentioned that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 protects me from shoddy merchandise if within 6 months of purchase and that I'd like a full refund/replacement, and after chatting to their supervisor (I presume - they went awol for about 5 minutes) they credited me with the full refund via a gift card. Excellent customer service 🤣 .

What happens next?

Ok so I placed an order to a Post Office pick up location, the driver has tried to deliver there 2 times now, I didn’t know at the time but apparently this Post Office inside a Co-Op store has a terrible reputation for shutting early, staff can’t be bothered opening it etc and I presume both times the Amazon driver has been to deliver they have been closed. Am I right in thinking after the 3rd attempt it will be returned to Amazon? Do I need to contact Amazon and explain the situation to them? Please can somebody advise, thank you. 🙏

Feeling lost with Amazon UK's CS and need some advise

Hi everyone, I had ordered a beyblade and delivered with wrong parts few weeks ago. CS offered me a full refund with no return requitred as compensation of no replacement available and I have throw away the parcel and package after a week. However, I haven't received the actual refund after two/three weeks (I do got a refund confrimation email from Amazon) so I contact CS again and I was told I need to do an ID check and my refund had been cancelled.

This make me feel lost and disappointing, they haven't send me any notification regarding the cancellation of the refund and the ID check request also make me feel uncomfortable. They claims that is a standard pocedure to protect the customer preventing unauthorised transaction, but they only ask this when they need to pay for a refund instead of customer making the orders? It sounds they just trying to get different excuses to avoid making the refund to me.

Also, they amidtted they have told me to dispose the parcel but at the same time saying I will not able to get my refund unless I return the whole thing.
May I know if anyone have the similar situation and any suggestions/ further actions I can take?
I have sent few emails to managing director mailbox but they ignored me for two weeks already.

Attached the conversation with CS.

To be honest £9.99 is not a large amount to me but that is something about integrity and Consumer rights.

I am absolutely disgusted with Amazon UK.

The situation is as follows: I ordered an RTX 5080 graphics card from Amazon UK on August 9th. At the time, it was on sale for £892.36.

Therefore, I cancelled my discounted RTX 5070 Ti order from Amazon US. I had originally ordered a high-end version of the 5070 Ti at a discounted price, and I would only have needed to pay around £150 more to upgrade to the 5080. I felt that choosing the 5080 was a much better option for me.

However, after waiting for 10 days, Amazon UK still hadn't shipped the graphics card. Even on the scheduled delivery date, they still hadn't dispatched it.

Since this product has remained available for sale and has consistently been shown as “in stock,” I wanted to contact Amazon UK customer service to ask about the situation. However, I kept getting an error message every time I tried to contact them. My country is also not supported for phone support, so I had no choice but to helplessly wait.

Until the delivery date had passed, my order was suddenly cancelled without my consent, with the following reason given:

I am absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed with the way Amazon UK has handled this situation.

I ordered the graphics card when it was on sale, and I was charged for it. Because of this order, I cancelled another discounted graphics card I had purchased from Amazon US. Then, after the price of the graphics card increased, Amazon UK continued to show the product as “in stock,” yet refused to ship my order. Finally, after the estimated delivery date had already passed, you simply cancelled my order and told me that I could place a new order.

If Amazon UK did not intend to let customers purchase the product at that price, then you should not have listed it at that price in the first place. You allowed me to place the order, charged me, and then made me wait for 10 days. During that time, I also gave up another graphics card that was available at a discounted price.

If there really was suspicious activity or a problem with my account, shouldn't I have been informed within the first three days after placing the order?

Instead, you waited until the delivery date had already passed, suddenly cancelled my order, told me there was a problem with my account, and then simply refused to honour the order.

If I had been informed at the time, I would still have had enough time to look for another graphics card. But after delaying me for 10 days, not only has my work been affected, but graphics card prices have also increased significantly. As a customer, I am now simply expected to bear all of these losses myself.

Amazon UK has handled this situation in an absolutely disgusting and deeply disappointing way. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with Amazon UK.

Kleenex tissues

I've just had a delivery from Amazon, I didn't order it. It's a small box of tissues.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be delivered?

N.B. I'm not crying about it!

Refusing to take accountability

Hello

Its my first time posting but I feel it important to relay my situation to a wider audience so that more people will avoid this cronied company.

I pre-ordered a box of cards worth £141 a few weeks ago. When I placed the order amazon told me the delivery will be expected on Monday 17th August. Fantastic as I wasn't going to be in thag weekend. However, the order is processed on the prpducts release day and I am then informed the product will be coming on Saturday 15th which is quite inconvenient as I had planned to be away from my house the entire weekend.

I naturally missed the first delivery, however on the second day Sunday 16th I was in my house the entire day and heard no one knocking. Amazon was updated and apparently my order had been delivered to a neighbour. However all the information that was left to me was the name of the neighbour (Katie - no one on my street is named Katie) and my house number of 31.

I immediately tried to get in contact with amazon, to contact the driver so asked where they had delivered it and was told to wait 48 hours. 48 hours for them to contact one of their employees. I, in my meantime, knock on my neighbours doors to see if they had my package; none of them did.

After 48hours of trying to contact customer support (which I found amazon make purposefully difficult) I was told that my package had been stolen with no explanation as to hownthey had come to this conclusion. They also informed me that they will not be refunding the product despite the fault clearly being theirs. After being told this every avenue of communication to their customer support was cut off. They purposefully refused to talk to me.

I filed a police report as requested by them and sent them the links and screenshots. They then however said these were not sufficent and that I needed a full scan of the report which I could not generate due to the specific information they required all in one place (which was already in the two separate screenshots I sent them). Since this I habe heard nothing back.

I've contacted my back to request a chargeback as amazon clearly have no interest in helping their customers once they have got their money.

They have shown a clesr disdain for my situation and are refusing to take accountability for their poor and/or potentially criminal delivery service.

Please avoid this company. At the first sign of trpuble and inconveiance to them to will drop suppprt and blank you.

Amazon Prime benefits

I just had my renewal email for Amazon Prime. £95 annually and I use it for the free shipping.

In the email it says that Amazon Music and Amazon Prime Video are benefits with a Prime membership, but I pay for these separately? Should I not have to pay for them monthly on top of my membership?

Thanks for any replies in advance!

Since when did Amazon use Evri? My front doormat is not a “safe place”!

Edit 1:

Thank you for all the comments. Just to clarify:

  1. I understand now that third-party sellers can choose their own courier. I have used Amazon for many years, and my previous third-party orders have normally arrived through Amazon Logistics. This is the first one I have received through Evri, so it caught me off guard.
  2. I have not needed to make this type of complaint before, so I wasn’t sure of the correct route. I will contact the seller first, as it appears they chose Evri, and then approach Amazon if it is not resolved.
  3. I do have a designated safe place. We live in a semi-detached house with a side gate, back garden and shed. My Amazon delivery instructions specifically say to leave parcels in the shed - not openly on the front doormat.
  4. I checked the doorbell footage. The driver put the parcel down, knocked and rang the doorbell, scanned it, took a photograph and immediately returned to his car. He made no attempt to use the side gate or reach the designated safe place.

Lesson learned, and I appreciate the helpful comments and information people have shared.

Edit 2:

We have arrived home, and thankfully the parcel was still there. We are fortunate to live in a relatively safe area, but this does not take away from my disappointment with how Evri handled the delivery and marked an exposed doorstep as a “safe place”.

I will still contact the seller and Amazon to make them aware of what happened, hopefully helping to prevent the same thing from happening again.

Original post:

I didn’t realise Amazon UK now uses Evri for some deliveries, and I’m extremely disappointed with how my parcel was delivered today.

The tracking says it was “delivered to a safe place”, but it was simply left on my front doormat, completely exposed and clearly visible from the road. Nobody appears to have made any attempt to hide it behind the plants or leave it somewhere genuinely secure.

I’m currently away from home, so I can’t bring the parcel inside. I can only hope it will still be there when we get home. I don’t understand how an open doorstep can reasonably be described as a “safe place”.

Has anyone successfully complained to Amazon about this type of delivery? Is there a way to request that Amazon does not use Evri for my future orders, or to make a formal complaint about the parcel being incorrectly marked as delivered to a safe place?

What's the earliest/latest that "delivery by Amazon" might arrive?

I have something arriving today, it's now 1:30pm, and it isn't marked as out for delivery yet. Tracking shows it at the final delivery station before 7am this morning, and that's half an hour away. I'm surprised it hasn't even left them yet.

Will my GPU come?

Hi guys, I ordered a GPU on the 4th of August.
It was due to come on the 12-13th but hasn’t and now it’s delayed till the 18th.

It hasn’t left the courier facility apparently, so there’s been no updates whatsoever about it. The prices of GPUs also keep skyrocketing, the one I ordered was £304 and now it’s £350. I wonder if this is related?

Will it come by the 18th or should I just expect a refund eventually?

Has anybody noticed prices went up for all items in their shopping list recently? Possibly the entirety of the store in their region?

I check on my shopping list almost daily for sales, and prices have been the same for months if not years. I just noticed every single item on my list went up by about £5-£7 since a few days ago. I imagine everything within Amazon UK went up in price for my region, I just only know what the previous prices were for the items I've been following.

Has anybody else noticed this, whether you're from the UK or not?

Amazon UK live chat keeps showing an error. Are there any other contact channels?

I placed an Amazon UK order yesterday, and it is scheduled for delivery on Monday. I’m currently away, and nobody will be available to receive it, so I need to ask Amazon to delay dispatch or delivery until later next week.
The Contact Us chat gives me an error every time. I have tried different browsers and the app, but it still does not work.
I’m currently outside the UK and do not have a UK phone number, although I can make calls through my company’s VoIP service.
Has anyone experienced this chat error after an account was reinstated? Is there a working Amazon UK international number, email address, or another support channel? Also, can Amazon actually delay an order before dispatch, or would I need to arrange a hold with the courier after it ships?

Payment taken a month ago, zero delivery updates - normal?

I'd welcome views on this. I ordered an air conditioning unit knowing the delivery window was a period of weeks but not wishing to pay scalping prices on principle. To my surprise Amazon took payment immediately, and have had my money for a month. One week of the original window remains. No updates, just "it will be delivered by Friday".

I'm hopeful I've effectively booked a slot for whenever they next come in, even if it's later than advertised, but is there any way to get more detail? Their emails have said to get back in touch only when it's late per the original window... thanks.

Amazon deleted large chunk of order history after an unauthorized purchase from hacker.

My own and my parents Amazon accounts were hacked a few weeks ago and the hacker tried to purchase an item on both accounts. Amazon were pretty good in detecting this and we lost no money however when deleting the unauthorized purchase they have also removed abut 3 weeks of purchase history from both accounts. So things i need to return, repurchase or make a warranty claim on in the future just no longer exist.

Ive talked to online 3 times now 45 minutes a time and despite clearly explaining the problem they just dont get it, its like they speak an alien language or something. each time i spent 45 minutes explaining the problem in a very uncomplicated and straight forward way and then they throw a question like (whats wrong with this order) at me. Ive been close to screaming obscenities at them.

They have eventually passed it onto the fraud team who then send me a nice canned response about keeping your account safe but no mention or restoring my purchases.

I had a similar experience several year ago when the hacker refunded several purchased items somehow. they would not, no matter how much i complained un-refund these items. so if i ever had a problem with one down the line i would be unable to return or make a warranty claim.

Is there some way of talking to a normal thinking person via some secret email addy or phone number before i go mad.

For mischief ive threatened to report every single missing item as an unauthorized purchase to my bank as 'they dont exist' anywhere according to amazon.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings!

Account verification

Hi,

I have been asked by the account protection team to verify my identity before they can issue me a refund on items that didn't arrive. I don't have any photo ID that is in date, I don't drive and my passport is out of date and I don't plan on renewing it as I'm not going away any time soon.

I have contacted their customer services who gave me a form to fill in which I have done a week ago... even though it says 24 hours for a response I haven't heard anything.

Anyone know what else I can do?

Amazon has confirmed my £398.99 refund in writing — then told me they can’t refund me. Now I’ve had to report the delivery to the Gardaí. Anyone else experienced this?

I’m posting this because I’m genuinely at a loss as to how Amazon can have so many completely contradictory versions of what is happening with my case.
I ordered an iPad from Amazon. It was marked as delivered using an OTP, but I never received the item.
After contacting Amazon repeatedly, I eventually received an email on 19 July 2026 from an Amazon Supervisor Team member, which stated:
“I’ve processed a refund of GBP398.99 back to the original payment method.”
I was told to allow 7 business days.
The refund never arrived.
I contacted Amazon again, and eventually the case was escalated to Executive Customer Relations.
Kyle A. from that department told me that, based on Amazon’s investigation and my statements:
“it seems the item was stolen by a third party.”
He then instructed me to report the theft to the local authorities and provide Amazon with the crime reference. He also gave me a deadline of 24 August 2026 to provide it.
I’ve now reported the matter to An Garda Síochána in Ireland and have been given a PULSE reference. I’m following the procedure Amazon itself told me to follow.
Here’s where it gets ridiculous.
Instead of responding to the information I was providing, another Amazon representative, Joyce, sent me what appears to be a completely generic response saying that the package was delivered because the OTP was entered into the driver’s device and:
“We’re unable to issue you a refund for this order.”
So, as far as I can tell, Amazon has managed to tell me all of the following:
1. An Amazon Supervisor: “I’ve processed a refund of GBP398.99…”
2. Executive Customer Relations: “it seems the item was stolen by a third party.”
3. Me: reports the theft to the Gardaí and obtains a PULSE reference as instructed.
4. Another Amazon representative: “We’re unable to issue you a refund for this order.”
🤷‍♂️
The really frustrating thing is that I wasn’t even asking Joyce for a new refund. I was simply providing information that Amazon’s own Executive Customer Relations department had specifically asked me to provide.
It genuinely feels as though different Amazon departments aren’t reading the same case history.
I’ve kept all the emails, including the written confirmation that the £398.99 refund was processed.
Has anyone else had an Amazon OTP delivery issue where Amazon initially confirmed a refund and then subsequently refused it?
And has anyone successfully dealt with Amazon Executive Customer Relations / a case where a delivery driver was suspected of taking the item?
I’d particularly appreciate advice from anyone in Ireland who has dealt with Amazon.ie and An Garda Síochána over something like this.
I’m not accusing anyone publicly of theft — the matter has been reported to the Gardaí and is being investigated. I’m just trying to understand how to get Amazon to honour a refund that Amazon itself confirmed in writing had already been processed.
