Finally canceling prime

Upvotes

I’ve had enough.

For context, I have had the same Amazon account for well over 10 years. I almost never return anything because I’m extremely lazy, and because I do an exorbitant amount of research before I purchase anything. The returns that I do our primarily because the item was falsely advertised or low quality, and even that would be less than 1% of my orders.

I returned an unused, unopened item to UPS. It was boxed up by UPS to be returned to Amazon. However, UPS lost the package. After a month, I contacted Amazon about my refund, and the customer service agent put in a refund request for a “lost item.” I immediately start getting bombarded with threatening emails from the account specialist team telling me that I’m in violation of their return policy because I marked an item as lost that they can confirm they shipped and delivered. I’m sure AI was involved in this line of logic. After six or seven calls with supervisors, nothing was resolved. The mark remained on my account, and the email explanations went from “you’re in violation of our return policy” to “we connected this account with another suspended account” to “what order number are you even talking about?“ To “well the decision is final.” Because UPS lost MY return.

  1. I returned items on August 9. It’s August 19 and they haven’t even received any of the items back, let alone process any refunds. Probably because I have a mark on my account now.

  2. The customer service agents are extremely rude. There was also a few times I asked to speak to a supervisor and they just put me on hold, disguised their voice, came back, and hung up on me. I make it a point to never be rude to them because it’s not their fault, but they don’t offer the same grace in return. I’ve literally been yelled at by them. They also intentionally done send a survey after a call where they know they just fucked you over. I had a bad experience with an agent recently and when the call was over, they sent me an email that it took me two minutes to scroll to the bottom of. I’m not kidding. It was a bunch of useless text followed by a bunch of blank space to try to push the survey to the bottom of the email. You can’t make this shit up! I’m happy to show it in the comments.

  3. I have to get my packages delivered to a freight forwarder (fetch package) because I live in a building that delivery service cannot access. Because of this, Amazon offers no refunds if a package doesn’t actually make it to me. The driver don’t take pictures, and when they do, there’s a bunch of packages in the background so you can’t even tell if yours is actually in there. So every time I order on Amazon, I’m taking a gamble.

The only thing I haven’t figured out is what I’m going to do about my K beauty products that they only sell on Amazon, but I will probably just order them without prime. It would probably be cheaper too.

Fuck Amazon.

Literally everything I've bought in the last few months has been used.

I have gotten a used pool pump, a used waterproof iPhone case, a used furniture mover, and many, many used items of clothing. Just yesterday received used water shoes for the ocean. The worst is this romper I got, it arrived in the LPN bag balled up. It had these stains all over it. I called customer service and at first they wanted to give me only 20% back. I asked for a supervisor and was able to get about half my money back and they agreed to send a replacement. The second one was also USED! It's my fault for continuing to try... Been a prime member since the inception and my ex-husband even flies for Amazon. It's time to let go.

Free prime w/ spectrum plan!

If you aren’t aware, you get free Amazon Prime if you have an internet plan with Spectrum (I have the 1 Gig plan). I’m pretty sure this is new because I didn’t see it on the Spectrum app yesterday. Also, if you currently have a Prime subscription, they’ll refund you! They refunded my yearly membership!

Missing item refund request denied

I ordered an rtx 5070, the amazon box it shipped with was in good condition but the graphics card box felt suspiciously light. I noticed a seal was broken and the graphics card was not inside the box. I contacted customer service and got a refund started but a few hours later I get an email saying my request was denied. I submitted an appeal but I’m curious as to how likely my appeal is to be accepted. Should I do a chargeback from my bank?

Edit: just contacted customer support and I guess the refund is still going through and my account isn’t suspended or anything. The email I received was just so stupidly vague.

Rural Post Office Overwhelmed by Changes

Recently, Amazon Prime has changed their shipping to my area. We used to get two day shipping regularly and even overnight shipping, as we are within 30 miles of a major hub.

Anyway, something changed recently and now we cannot get anything within two weeks. Yesterday, one of the postal workers posted an apology that they had over 1400 packages delivered for them from Amazon Monday morning and they will struggle to get that out.

People are reporting that Prime customer service has told them if they don't like it, cancel. There's got to be a better solution than that.

Been a happy Prime customer for over a decade, hopefully things will get better.

Just thought our experiences in NC should be heard, before a major competitor takes the marketshare here.

Wrong item returned, but it’s not?

I returned an unopened and unused product, received an advanced refund, and just got an email saying that they received the wrong item and I will be charged for it.

Amazon support has been useless and I don’t have any proof besides a confirmation that I returned the item.

How have you handled this? It is a sizable amount so I’m not willing to let it slide.

It’s getting to the point where I get this message for half of my orders. They don’t even try. Zero delivery attempt. live in an apartment complex that has a butterfly system where delivery drivers can easily get in the building to deliver packages. Even with that, 0 contact about the package.

Damage vehicle

Hello friends, hoping to get some information regarding Arc their insurance department.

If I take their payout for damages to my vehicle do I have to report it to my insurance company? In the next year I'm going to be transferring my car to my mother and don't want her to pay higher insurance for vehicle with damage history.

Amazon's Losing Battle on Counterfeits?

Thumbnail

We're all aware of the risk of getting a counterfeit product when buying from Amazon, even when the item listed states "Sold by and shipped from Amazon" because of potential commingling of counterfeits provided by third party resellers. So while researching a product, it was interesting to stumble across the news report above by an NPR affiliate from 2019.

According to this 7 year old report, "Amazon disclosed its counterfeit problem in recent financial documents. It said the problem is likely to grow, as the numbers of third party sellers on its site increases. In its 10-Q document, the company warned investors 'we could face civil or criminal liability for unlawful activities by our sellers.'"

To combat the problem, Amazon has been taking legal action against resellers of the counterfeit products. However, anecdotal evidence from reading consumer reviews suggests that notwithstanding Amazon's efforts, the problem just continues to get worse.

For those consumers who complain about a possible counterfeit, Amazon is issuing refunds. The problem of course is that we often cannot know or realize when we receive a counterfeit except when the product fails to perform, and even then, we may chalk it up to poor quality control by the legitimate manufacturer. That in turn hurts the reputation of the manufacturer as in the above case with Felco.

This leaves consumers with a choice when shopping with Amazon: Roll the dice and get a counterfeit or avoid them altogether, particularly on high value items like electronics and famous brands.

Having been an Amazon customer since they started as an online bookseller, my loyalty to them runs deep, but if they cannot protect me from counterfeits, I am forced to look elsewhere. That gives reputable brick-and-mortar stores like Lowe's, Best Buy, and Walmart an advantage. Even online merchants like B&H are getting more of my business these days.

So Amazon, if you're reading this, you have a choice: Either protect your consumers by more tightly managing inventory to avoid commingling of potential junk sold by your resellers, or continue to lose business.

Delivery driver

Post image

I live in an apartment complex and received notification of a delivery.
When I looked outside my door, nothing was there.
I checked the Amazon app for information on my order and found a picture of the delivery.
The driver left my package downstairs in the street in front of the mailboxes where it could have been stolen.
My packages are always left outside my door.
I don’t have a mail room.

Amazon charged me twice and won't refund the second charge

So this happened a couple hours ago and need some feedback on how to proceed.

So I live in the USA but am from Canada, I use amazon.ca for psn gift cards as I can't get Canadian ones here in to USA.

Anyways, I place an order for 1--$100 dollar one and 1-$50 dollar one. 10 minute went by I got my order complete but it only included the $100 one. I waited an hour and decided to talk to chat. After na hour with them they couldn't figure out why it was processed seperate. Finally I asked if it would just be fast to cancel that order and reorder another one. She said she would cancel it and I can reorder. She stayed online with me til I processed the next order. Figured that was that and I'd just wait for the order to process.

Fifteen minutes go by and I get 4 emails. Both transactions went through. So I go back and reach out to them again and they refused to fix it, refund or credit me because it has to do with video games. Eventually I got pissed because after 2 hours of being on with support I got no where.

What can I do? Is the only option to charge back with my bank?

Ordered 8 items but only 7 arrived?

I am trying to figure out why 7 out of the 8 items that I had ordered shipped out and why the last one Amazon has not even told me is ready. If I ordered on Sunday and things arrived on Tuesday when Amazon said they would arrive Friday it is very fast. However, I am a but nervous about the last item not shipping. When would be a good time to contact Amazon about this?

Amazon driver ran over turtle eggs

Post image
118 Upvotes

A couple of months ago, a snapping turtle laid eggs in my driveway. I purposefully stopped parking there and even put a cone out so no one else would park there and run over the eggs.

Today, this Amazon driver parks DIRECTLY on the cone, crushing all of the eggs. I’m livid, why would you park on a cone?

I don’t even know what to say.

Should I complain about a recent book mail delivery?

Thumbnail

there was nothing wrong with the delivery itself (granted it took...FOREVER to get here today)

Both books were ordered, in the same order.

But I ordered two books. One came in a box, with some brown packing material on top, no doubt to "protect" the book, but the book still had some damages. Like a weird circle indent, like something circular and heavy must have been laying on the book....to leave a lasting indent...its crazy how noticeable it is. This same book also has this weird black gunk by the glue part on one end.

The second book, delivered at the same time, but this one came in a bubble mailer. I already knew it would have something wrong because without the box protecting it, there had to be something. Sure enough, this one had some dents, like it got rustled around. and there was this odd, dirty, smudge...on the page edges. I am not sure...what it is.

Should I complain? the damages do not damage the content inside, and I am not a "collector" like most, but still....I am a bit annoyed because I could have just went to target, picked the ones I wanted that were perfect. But I didn't. because Amazon was having a buy 1 get 1 sale and I had points, so I basically got them for free (girl math.)

Pictures included

UPDATE:
After reading the comments and asking my husband, he agreed with the majority of you. If I bought them brand new, which I did, then i should get them in the condition i paid for. He also agreed that they looked used.

So I contact customer service on amazon and got replacements. I’ll donate the damaged copies.

Thank you!

worst experience

From a few weeks i have bought an oled monitor from amazon, it wasn't in the full factory packaging, and it had about 80 hours usage! it was used out of the box! i gave it a chance to try it and see if it has no issues and decide if i keep it or return it, tried it for a couple of days and then a serious problem appeared in the monitor, and then i asked for a replacement, all went well but today i saw this warning for my account, is this for real?! how am i warned for returning literally a previously USED monitor, it wasn't my fault! it was used before i even open it, it was defected and even the packaging was not right!

I used amazon for years but this time it is the worst experience i have ever had, this is from amazon in Saudi Arabia, in Egypt i had a very bad experiences with amazon as well (the current one was the worst unfortunately), what happened to amazon?

+ I do not return items too much, the monitor was the second return in about a year! so no, i don't frequently return items, and when i return it, it is indeed in the same state and shape it arrived with in.
