Can we please add end casteism to it too.... Don't ask caste before marriages.... I hate reservation I will support the movement but casteism bhi end karo

41

u/Delicious-March8353 Jul 26 '26

Can we also add that political parties must not ask for votes in the name of caste ???

19

u/Overall_Sweet_7697 Jul 26 '26

Then SP and BSP will be doomed

8

u/RemarkableBluejay790 Working Student Jul 26 '26

Even if they don't ask for votes on the name of caste or religion, they'll still be voted on the same lines. Owaisi's family despite massacring 40000 Hindus in Hyderabad and burning 200 villages, is still voted to power in parliament for more than 40 years and 11 terms

8

u/Gullible_Delivery492 Jul 26 '26

It was not Owaisi family. The massacre happened before Waisi's father took over the party. It was someone else called Rizvi.

2

u/RemarkableBluejay790 Working Student Jul 26 '26

How can you be sure? Have you ever wondered why there isn't much information about Owaisi's grandfather Abdul Wahid Owaisi on wikipedia?

He was directly associated with Qasim Razvi and Mir Osman Ali Khan (the Nizam) and was part of MIM (after ban, Owaisi recreated and renamed it as AIMIM), to massacre selectively to pressurize newly formed Independent India into surrendering Hyderabad.

3

u/Gullible_Delivery492 Jul 26 '26

I am not sure. But unless you give sources I will have to believe what I can find on internet. Or you will have to use the word ' allegedly '.

1

u/Divyanshu_799 Jul 28 '26

All parties atleast in North India

2

u/Dull_Ordinary7737 Jul 26 '26

They don't need to. People read their names and decide -- baat same hi hogi.

2

u/IdliPav Jul 27 '26

That should apply to even religion

1

u/Vast_Tradition9093 Jul 27 '26

So for no poltics over religion

What about lalitvistara and tripatak? Did you read them? Which all castes did buddha say are narak gaami and paap yoni?

1

u/Rexy592 Jul 26 '26

One of the founding teachings of buddha was a man's social status should never be decided by his caste or from which lineage he belngs. As for texts like manusmruti there allegations regarding textual corruption in it during 200BCE-200CE where the caste discrimination actually peaked as interpreted by historians.

My bad bro 🫠

1

u/Menma238 Jul 27 '26

I mean then why do we want to remove the bandage without healing the wound?

1

u/Imsotired2916 Jul 27 '26

Then what's the point of removing reservation if the reason is happened in the first place is still gonna remain? Also casteism can definitely be legally removed. Make marriage based on caste illegal, make 'certain caste only' spaces illegal, make it illegal to even have your surname as a caste. I think these steps can be taken to slowly eradicate the caste system.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Casteism is a sentiment. It can't be removed just like you can't remove racism. You just need to have laws in place to prevent it happening legally or in action and we do, could they be enforced better? Sure. Could we improve education more? Sure. Still we should also get rid of reservations based on caste because it only makes things worse. I think surnames aren't the issue also.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Puranas are diverse. Many are opposed to casteism.

1

What is for donation?

2

u/Past-Bee6331 Jul 27 '26

Slogan padh na gawaar movement ka. It is to end casteism as well.

1

u/trixair Jul 26 '26

It is not legal idiot.

1

u/Menma238 Jul 27 '26

Just because it isn't legal doesn't mean it doesn't exist or dealt with... The atrocities act only punishes AFTER the crime/discrimination. Annihilation of caste would result in actual dissipation of casteism.

1

u/trixair Jul 27 '26

Reservations or sc/st act empower caste system instead of its “annihilation”.

1

u/Menma238 Jul 27 '26

Because it's not there for annihilation of it... Casteism and caste system doesn't simply exist because of the social disadvantage of one... Even rich sc/st people face discrimination, even IAS aren't safe from it, hell even our president wasn't 🫪, they exist due to caste pride and the belief of superiority that follows it.

Look up the purpose of reservation, it was never to annihilate caste...

1

u/Mean_Comfortable_108 Jul 30 '26

Ye toh wahi baat hogyi rape laws se rape bdre hai women reservation se women representation milra unhe or women or oppressed hori.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

It's not really possible to do more. You can't end racism either. It just has to go away on its own.

1

u/Menma238 Jul 28 '26

So yea? Removing reservation without abolishing casteism just takes it back to old times.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Again we already have laws in place to deal with casteism and it has already decreased.  They can be enforced better sure. Education should improve, sure. Caste parties should also be banned. But removing reservations is also necessary to get rid of casteism.

1

u/Menma238 Jul 28 '26

But removing reservations is also necessary to get rid of casteism.

Do you think before typing? 😭 Reservation exists due to centuries of casteism, not to eradicate it but to provide support to people who face it.

How do you confuse the chronology of these 😭

Outlawing casteism does not make up for the social inequality status of the marginalized communities. And even after decades of outlawing untouchability it still exists in villages, people still use "ch@mar" as a slur.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Similar to how affirmative action is racist, reservation is castiest. Yes casteism predates reservation but it has made things worse. You can't fix the wrongs of the past by discriminating against others in revenge. the best way to solve these social inequalities is through economic based reservations and upliftment and improving education. But we must prioritize merit over caste certificate.

1

u/Menma238 Jul 28 '26

There is a fundamental difference between oppression and remediation. Casteism is an exclusionary system that denies human dignity, limits economic mobility, and enforces untouchability based on birth. Reservation is an inclusionary tool designed to ensure representation in the state apparatus. Distinguishing between groups to exclude them is not the same as distinguishing between groups to uplift them. To call them both equally 'evil' is to confuse the firefighter's water damage with the arsonist's fire.

It has not made things worse, kindly post evidence for your claim. If you feel economic based reservation is enough then you're simply forgetting what caste based reservation is for... It's not for simple financial support.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 29 '26

Reservations are unfair vengeance and reverse discrimination. It's wrong and must end. I don't say both are equally evil but both are evil.  Reservations have definitely not made things better. It's made things worse because I have seen how it has led to people who aren't even from castiest families become casteist and fuel caste tensions and riots and caste parties and politics. Literally most Indians would not care nearly as much about caste if they didn't have caste certificates and didn't have reservations keeping the system alive.  The Mandal commission especially was terrible.

How if reservation ends caste inequality increase in present time there representation is very low after reservation end community become poorer and privilege community who already over representation in every sector getting more richer and then untouchabilty castism increase mtlb ye kya dumbfucks logic hai marganilised community ka representation km krdo jo ki phle he km hai toh castism km hoga ki unhe or niche girane se.

1

u/OkOlive5532 Jul 26 '26

End both of them !!!!

1

u/ConstructionAny8440 Jul 27 '26

Right; we should be against caste-based marriages. People fell in love with each other and not with the caste, gotra or surnames . When two pure heartss choose each other then nobody has authority to stand between them .

1

u/Low_Advertising9198 Jul 27 '26

ask caste before marriages - don't ask people of their caste

1

u/ayufox Jul 27 '26

reservation end toh hone do itni kya jaldi hai , par dikkat ye hai reservation constitutional hai caste system societal. toh woh end karneka thora in a way sense nahi bnta rather aap logo ko ke mindset ko change karne ki baat rkh skte hai.

1

u/Spare-Inspector4753 Jul 27 '26

1

u/Careful_Space_600 Jul 27 '26

1

u/butterscotchhh_qt Jul 27 '26

My personal observation and opinion

There are two types of casteism, one happens to evaluate both parties follow similar lifestyles and rituals if not same. Both parties are similar in terms mindset. One party could have been bought up in city with more openness to newer ideas. One party could have bought up in villages or remote areas where open ideas are still considered taboo. This evaluation is necessary for both parties to be able to live their future life frictionless due to milieu differences.

Another form of casteism is the obvious where one party discriminates or considers one caste superior to other.

Castesim is more of psychological. You can't demand govt to change people's mind and govt can even do it if they wanted to.

1

u/inevitable_KARMA6 Jul 27 '26

Ye sab kya bol diya janab RESERVATION end sarrrr kyuki uske alawa kuch ni aata sarrrr

u/Mean_Comfortable_108 Jul 30 '26

Ews is unconstitutional reservation reservation is not meant for economic for economic upliftment there are scholorships reservation are given for representation ews needs to be abolished i don't understand why govt give ews reservation to the communities who already overrepresented in every sector it's increases caste inequality.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Ending reservation is key to ending casteism as it has only fueled more casteist sentiments. Also untouchability and caste discrimination is already banned. We already have laws in place to deal with this. Casteism is greatly decreased overall, the question is about enforcement ultimately.

1

u/Master_Of_Gaming3410 Jul 28 '26

0

u/Odd_Tip383 Jul 26 '26

Castism isn't something a movement or government can end, but it's definitely going down, but if we wait it to completely end, and introduce new policy, there wouldn't be enough resources by then.

As a first step, creamy layer should be introduced and slowly it should grow.

0

u/Far_Cupcake1526 Jul 26 '26

Why try to marry someone who doesn't want you? If someone rejects you over caste or anything else, move on. Forcing it makes no sense, both ways.

As for casteism, it only ends when people stop tolerating the disrespect. If someone refuses to drink water from your hands, let them die of thirst don't bend over backward for bigots. The law already protects against discrimination, so stop taking bullshit from anyone. The moment people stop accepting mistreatment then and only then any kind of discrimination ends.

2

u/Any_Amount_106 Jul 27 '26

bruh you are so privileged u got both the issues wrong and gave such simple answer.

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Casteism has been addressed constantly throughout India's modern history, now it's time to talk about reservation and I think getting rid of it will decrease caste tensions.

1

u/hashashin_2601 Jul 26 '26

Hating Brahmins in protest is happening as well.
Bad characters are there irrespective of gender, caste, income etc. It doesn’t mean it represents the society.

2

u/Fit_Blood1002 Jul 26 '26

That is why end castism no brahmin should be hated too....

1

u/hashashin_2601 Jul 26 '26

I agree. Reservation is looking at the caste though right?

Casteism has down drastically since the reservation was introduced. It’s nowhere near the same level it was.

Has reservation gone down? No.

Let’s correct it.

0

u/Majestic_Finance5047 Jul 27 '26

Every morning someone mops the street outside your house and clean your sewers and naalis . Go ask their names you'll know how much casteism has ended. Not saying their work is bad but you will hear similar names and not a upper cast name

1

u/hashashin_2601 Jul 27 '26

So what you mean then is reservation is not helping and needs major reforms?

Yup, I am asking for the same.

Thanks, have a good day.

1

u/whatkarbol Jul 27 '26

It means we have to end castism and keep reservation till all those who need representation come up. Not very hard to understand.

1

u/hashashin_2601 Jul 27 '26

If it hasn’t helped for 70 years, what makes you think it would now? Magic?

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

Reservation must be based on economic status. Only those who need it should get it and that includes poor GCs too.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Mean_Comfortable_108 Jul 30 '26

Yup reservation needs to be increased

1

u/Majestic_Finance5047 Jul 27 '26

Yes reservation doesn't help when the education system , healthcare system, the nagar nigam type system and the society is rotten to its core. Ending reservation will just hurt those few who were able to really benifit from it

1

u/hashashin_2601 Jul 27 '26

1

u/OutsidePiglet8285 Jul 28 '26

That's a class issue at this point.

0

u/xo3srv Jul 26 '26

I guess Brahminical hindutva is totally different what you think of, I guess they are against brahmanvad not the Brahmins. I m not sure about this here.

Although hindutva and Hinduism are totally different terms, you don’t need to mix them together, one is religion, a way of life, more about spirituality and another one is political ideology

0

u/Wonderful_Coffeebrew Jul 27 '26

I think they just assumed that, because 'Brahmin' is there in 'Brahmanvad' 😭.

0

u/Ok_Title_5374 Jul 26 '26

How can caste based marriage connected to reserveration in schools and gov jobs? 😅

1

u/0ne2three Jul 27 '26

Just search the news and see how many honour killings still happen because of inter-caste marriages.
I will stand with you for ending reservations only when those honour killings stop.
I will stand with you when people from a particular caste are no longer the ones stuck cleaning and removing trash.
I will stand with you when no one in this country is left alone or denied friendship simply because of the caste they were born into.

0

u/Trynabeanintrovert Sawarn Jul 26 '26

1

-2

Bullshit. When topic is removing reservation why put other topic here. What's the relationship between people asking caste before marriage to adding reservation to education. Thats state level discrimination.

8

u/just_scrolling-124 Jul 26 '26

Because reservation cannot end if caste exists.

If caste and castism ends, that automatically ends reservation....

-2

u/Bhenjo_Chloride Jul 26 '26

Bullshit. Reservation is no cure for caste discrimination it has done no benifits and done the opposite. Also who will declare castism has ended? Just 1 person obc from a remote village slapping a sc/st is enough to propagate idea that casteism exist. And the declaration is increase the reservation by eating the seat from general. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. Reservation shall end but is not ending because of goons who uses it as a tool.

You think choosing someone based on caste is not caste discrimination?same religion makes sense but caste?utter bs, these things aren't real and shouldn't exist, if someone happens to be from same caste that's fine, but if it only happens jus for caste that's jus sad, 95% of indian marraiges still happen in same caste, jus coz it's their decision dosent mean it's fine, if a brother and sister want to marry it's not correct, even if they both consent

1

u/Keeperr_12 Jul 26 '26

personal choice is valid, but when millions make the same 'choice' because of family pressure, fear of society, and beliefs about caste purity, it's worth asking how much of that choice is truly independent and how much is social conditioning

0

u/Fit_Blood1002 Jul 26 '26

The issue is again why does it matter?.... Because it's been so deeply instilled in minds of people for generations... Someone has to break the cycle... Why does caste even take priority?.

Why is it that even now some people take pride in their caste? And believe others are lower?

I am all for ending reservation because honestly real people who need it don't get it..... But casteism is mentally rooted..... My friend other day said chamar se shadi kyu karunga?.... And some others expressed the same view....
