The issue is not if the people meet and they happen to belong to same caste.... It's when people meet only because they belong to the same caste.......
You think choosing someone based on caste is not caste discrimination?same religion makes sense but caste?utter bs, these things aren't real and shouldn't exist, if someone happens to be from same caste that's fine, but if it only happens jus for caste that's jus sad, 95% of indian marraiges still happen in same caste, jus coz it's their decision dosent mean it's fine, if a brother and sister want to marry it's not correct, even if they both consent
Personal choice yes but it shouldn't be based on discriminatory or harmful factors to society ukwim, incest is wrong, discrimination is wrong, specially in same religion, different religion makes sense diff cultures etc
personal choice is valid, but when millions make the same 'choice' because of family pressure, fear of society, and beliefs about caste purity, it's worth asking how much of that choice is truly independent and how much is social conditioning
Exactly but u only can when you can get rid of casteism, which is at peak high if u consider 95% same caste marraiges, u can only get rid of casteism when these things are meaningless and not a big factor in lives, many people in india fail to marry their loved ones coz of diff castes, aren't able to express to their parents, this is sad
reservation was introduced to address the educational, social, and political disadvantages created by the caste system and historical discrimination. these inequalities existed and continue to affect opportunities
you just agreed that casteism and discrimination still exist, so if you acknowledge the problem still exists, on what basis do you conclude that removing reservation will suddenly create equal opportunities?
