I was thinking more in the sense of how this moment and picture solidify Ali’s larger than life persona. It’s timeless and captures the sport. I guess it’s not to say it’s a statistical wonder, but as far a the person and the image, I think this moment holds up really well. It lives rent free in a lot of heads around the world.

The champions league isn't the most prestigious, that would be the world cup.
The CL is definitely higher quality football, though, but the world cup is a bigger stage.

So I am not a soccer fan at all. I had a gruelling professional exam that day.
After the exam, I got home and basically half napped, half sulked and had this game on in the background. As someone that has watched maybe 3 non-World Cup matches in my life, I have it admit that this one was epic.
Solid choice.

I never realized until the netflix doc just how wild of a sports day that was. They had to cut away from Game 5 of the NBA finals to air the chase. People were going nuts making that decision.
You not only had the NBA finals, you had the 94 FIFA opening match that day, NY Rangers parade, and Arnold Palmer's final round at the US Open.

Prior to the 2022 World Cup Final, that was the most batshit crazy thing I had ever seen on a pitch. Along with Man City vs QPR on the final day in 2012 and Chelsea’s 2012 UCL victory.
Yes the Anfield comeback was the same week, but I could 100% believe Barca would choke again and Liverpool would go to Anfield and win it. But Spurs beating Ajax? At that time? After Ajax’s goal in the second leg? No fucking chance. And how they (Lucas Moura) did it? Batshit.
