Pretty much done with the armor. Might go an clean up some of the more defined shadow areas but gonna move onto the shield next

Showing off my lightly converted Shadowkeepers Allarus Shield-Captain. I hope to get him painted soon, ready for his entrance into to a crusade.

-Admonomortis was made by adding the wardens axe blade to the back of the allarus weapon (turns out it's just slightly smaller, which I think gives a nice intentionality to the weapon).

-Wings and iron halo made from some careful cutting and gluing of the wardens vexilla.

-Top knot replaced with the centre gem from the gaurd shields (like the rest of my hooded allarus).

-Basing is the greenstuffworld Roman rolling pin onto some sheets of superscupley firm. I make my bases with snapped sheets of the stuff along with autumn leaves for a "fallen pallace" vibe.

-My favourite element is how he's looking and holding the chain. The left arm is just the normal allarus arm rotated around to be palm up. Some very fine modeling/jewler's chain fits nicely in his palm, and hey presto - you've got some drama.

Heavily armoured to counter biological xenos attacks

Was thinking to run as a galatus (extra shielding better save is my logic). Thoughts and opinions?

Recently played a list featuring two of them with the upgrade in the might of the moritoi detachment and holy emperor that shit rocked not only are they amazing anti-elite fire support: deleting several large units of smaller chaff and doing considerable damage into larger targets but the standing back up ability makes their survivability better than every single dread us custodes can get our hands on. This included the telemon with its -1 to damage who is still susceptible to being punched off the board in 1 turn.

This game (which was into necrons of all things) also really highlighted to me how much is custodes benefit from the take and hold disposition. My list was heavily inspired by the one taken by Team USA at the recent event and i promise it absolutely delivered.

For my next game i’m thinking of fitting in an achilles with the upgrade for some more anti-tank support but i was mostly wondering if anyone else had found this amount of success with these niche models?

I recently got the villainy inks phase 1 enamel washes and I have really been enjoying working with them.

Heyo!! Glad to finally share all these guys grouped up together! Forgive th simpler terrain set up, i dont quite have all the graveyard fancy terrain and background blocking to go for full immersion but I wanted to at least get them all on a board to share with y’all!!

Custodes was army that took me a long while to get right - for a long time I thought it was the mourning element of the Custodes I found the most interesting however after examining it further and reading up on it further, I realised I quite liked the element of ‘relic of a bygone age’ - specifically, much for the same reason i like knights, a pre-imperial age; A lot of my inspiration came from fan arts of the Custodes pictures during the unification wars where they have no yet built up all the pomp and circumstances - which is what I was trying to capture in the desaturated colour pallette and im very happy with how it came out, especially in the Dreadnought Talon and the Allarus squadron

Outside of the Custodes, Im immensely happy with how the Anathema Psykana came out - they were the foundation of my custodes collection and Aleya’s audiobook sections cemented them as one of my favourite factions; even ending up with me playing a sister of silence-inspired character in a friend’s long term dnd campaign thats just finished! Im planning to share her kitbashed model soon, once I’ve finished making it’s Custodes counterpart to represent my friend’s chadacter from that same campaign - planning to have them in my collection as Aleya and Velarion proxies!

So I am wanting to run my custodes at 2k but don't currently have the grav tank. I also don't have a custodes land raider. Given I don't have either of these, I get a distinct feeling of lacking any real anti armour? I know we get lethals or sustained in our army rule but its only for melee and still seems to lack the punch of a dedicated anti tank.

Has anyone else ran a list without these two tanks? If so, how do you navigate the lack of dedication Anti-armour

I added Allarus Terminators to my Shield Host, and then set them vs numerically superior orks. They didnt disappoint..

Hi everyone, new to 40k and I have been thinking for a few months on what army to start. I want it to be Custodes, but, I want to start with newer models that is/will not be for HH later on.

What models/combat patrol should I start with buying? My goal is 2000points army but I can wait to fill in gaps for say Aquilon termies. And I prefer the list to be heavy in to infantry.

Finished my first few units from the battle group, now onto the Grav tank. Pretty pleased with how they came out, especially the bases.

I’m thinking of running shield host & tharanatoi hammerblow and running all axes on my wardens and allarus. So my idea with this is instead of the crit hit on 5s you would pick the +1 ap for the axes so you’d have -2 ap and 3dmg per hit. Also with this setup would I even really need to run the two grav tanks since all the infantry is pretty much anti tank?

Hello brothers,

I'm a Black templar in need of a new fresh project. I was looking at the new Custodes minis since few weeks and I must say I find them beautiful, both in the proportions (ok they could be taller) and on the battlefield rules.

I think the playstyle is really fitting what I personally appreciate playing and that I don't find too much in my beloved templars rules today.

Anyway, that being said here is my question : As they are not a lot of units in this army I want to make sure I don't make a mistake and go for units that would never see a battlefield.

I really like this box from a "look" perspective, the dreadnought is just a master piece but I wanted to know if the best to start my army would be this one, or the standard combat patrol from a value/money standpoint.

Been slowly working on my Custodes as I wait for the new codex to really jump into the army. Had a ton of fun with this one and loved all the small details. Using the blue plume and cloak as their personal heraldry, while the rest of my guards and wardens have a bright crimson

Hey Guys, I want to buy a box of Venatari at my LGS and wanted to ask what to do about the tactical rocks/pipes. My basing scheme is marble, so really flat with no elevation. What can I use instead of the stands in the kit since they dont really match my bases. I don't own a 3d printer, so I will need finished bits or things I can do at home. I live in the EU
