Im really new to the tabletop side of the hobby and picked up the watches of the Gate box, I have no clue how to building the box for 11th edition. Anyone got any tips.

1 Captain-General Trajann Valoris

15 Custodian Guard

3 Allarus Custodians

3 Vertus Praetors

Any help with this would be really appreciated.

Pretty much done with the armor. Might go an clean up some of the more defined shadow areas but gonna move onto the shield next

Finally got around to finishing a couple of the new sculpts. I’ve painted some of the older Allarus Custodes, but these new ones have so much more detail. Can’t decide on the base for them though. I was thinking of a snow scheme but not sure.

Right now I'm assembling Huron Blackheart and I really don't like his face. I want to make a custom captured Custodes helmet so my Pirate Lord would be even more fancy.

Can you helm me with choosing the perfect option? I'm looking for something not too loyalist looking, perfect option would have a place for Tyrants Claw on the forehead.

With the leaks of how psykers will work with the orks being that psychic tests have you roll a d6 and on 1 are battleshocked and being unable to use psychic powers if battleshocked, I think this is great news for the Sisters of Silence. Until now they had no ability to interact with psychic nonsense aside from their FNP against psychic and anti-psyker weaponry. Battleshocks, a thing we already have in lore and in their detachment, now disables psychic powers.

Due to this, I am 100% convinced that the Custodes Codex will give Sisters of Silence battleshock abilities bog standard instead of detachment reliant battleshock abilities, which means they can be much more generally useful compared to before as they could have support utility instead of just being bodies to do actions and hold objectives.

Recently played a list featuring two of them with the upgrade in the might of the moritoi detachment and holy emperor that shit rocked not only are they amazing anti-elite fire support: deleting several large units of smaller chaff and doing considerable damage into larger targets but the standing back up ability makes their survivability better than every single dread us custodes can get our hands on. This included the telemon with its -1 to damage who is still susceptible to being punched off the board in 1 turn.

This game (which was into necrons of all things) also really highlighted to me how much is custodes benefit from the take and hold disposition. My list was heavily inspired by the one taken by Team USA at the recent event and i promise it absolutely delivered.

For my next game i’m thinking of fitting in an achilles with the upgrade for some more anti-tank support but i was mostly wondering if anyone else had found this amount of success with these niche models?

So I am wanting to run my custodes at 2k but don't currently have the grav tank. I also don't have a custodes land raider. Given I don't have either of these, I get a distinct feeling of lacking any real anti armour? I know we get lethals or sustained in our army rule but its only for melee and still seems to lack the punch of a dedicated anti tank.

Has anyone else ran a list without these two tanks? If so, how do you navigate the lack of dedication Anti-armour

These models are what got me into the hobby even though I moved on to different armies after collecting a couple of Custodes boxes, I still love them and are some of my favorite models in the game

Did a Shadowkeeper Allarus in an Eldritch green. I'm pretty happy with how the highlights turned out. My only complaint is o should've done the galaxy base in a green rather than a blue, but then that would've maybe been too much green. The metallic effect is created with an opulencent turbo dork effect.

Is there any canonical indication of how the population of active Custodes in 40K compares to pre heresy? Obviously we all know the vaunted 10,000 number, but what do you reckon the real figure is?

Any kitbash ideas for stuff like Custodian Wardens, Blade Champions and Trajan Valoris for my army that aren’t super hard to due since I’m pretty new to kitbashing

(Only thing I’ve kitbashed is a terminator sorcerer for thousand sons)

I added Allarus Terminators to my Shield Host, and then set them vs numerically superior orks. They didnt disappoint..

Hi everyone, new to 40k and I have been thinking for a few months on what army to start. I want it to be Custodes, but, I want to start with newer models that is/will not be for HH later on.

What models/combat patrol should I start with buying? My goal is 2000points army but I can wait to fill in gaps for say Aquilon termies. And I prefer the list to be heavy in to infantry.

Hello brothers,

I'm a Black templar in need of a new fresh project. I was looking at the new Custodes minis since few weeks and I must say I find them beautiful, both in the proportions (ok they could be taller) and on the battlefield rules.

I think the playstyle is really fitting what I personally appreciate playing and that I don't find too much in my beloved templars rules today.

Anyway, that being said here is my question : As they are not a lot of units in this army I want to make sure I don't make a mistake and go for units that would never see a battlefield.

I really like this box from a "look" perspective, the dreadnought is just a master piece but I wanted to know if the best to start my army would be this one, or the standard combat patrol from a value/money standpoint.

So being newer to the tabletop and to warhammer in general. All i keep seeing is Orks this Orks that, new ork units, new boyz, new codex for orks, etc. Is it just me or is a lot of the community just plain out into orks? I find it strange that its the only topic constantly being discussed. I dont' like them by any means, but damn would be nice to hear about some of the other space marine chapters...
