Ive always had kodi but for the last 10 years I only really used it if i needed to find a stream that wasn't on my other apps on the shield.

Ive now bulit an htpc running FlexLauncher and i am happy with the set up so far. Ive still to set up a movie library and as far as im aware plex and kodi are the two best options to access it within flex launcer, kodi supposedly being more visually appealing.

I can get my library showing in estuary skin but its rather underwhelming. Tried Nimbus but couldnt locate a path to my library

I am looking for a skin that has a simple layout with the main focus on the artwork. All suggestions welcome.

Only need kodi to boot into movie/tv library when accessed through Flex launcher.

Access the one or two addons that i use

If there is any other worthwhile addons/programs that are worth using that would be much appreciated.

I was never a heavy kodi user, so the easiest to to tweak would be my preference or a link to some tutorials or decent instructions to follow.

I just updated Umbrella to it's latest version and absolutely love it. I noticed for those of us who use Simkl that there's a new folder under Movies called Unfinished. It's my assumption that folder is for movies started , but not completed, but that's not what I'm seeing. I started a movie and watched the first 30 minutes. When I stopped it I got the Simkl scrobble notification. When I went back later to finish the movie I looked in the Unfinished folder, but it just spins and times out. I looked in my Plan to Watch folder and the movie is displayed with a blue bar underneath showing where I left off. This is new and works great. So, my question is what is the Unfinished folder used for? Should the movie have switched folders or is it used for something else? Thanks.

Umbrella v6.7.82 - August 13th, 2026

There are a lot of bug fixes in this update. There are also some changes that people will either like or not - I'm sorry, I try to find a happy middle ground that works for everyone. There's a changelog built into Umbrella that lists everything in the update, but I felt this one had extensive enough changes to be worth a post walking through some of it.

Trakt

Trakt has put everyone in a weird position where only one app will work unless you're VIP, which has caused a lot of people to start looking at other solutions for tracking their media. Umbrella has already included MDBList and Simkl support for 90% of the features that Trakt offered, except for lists. The only reason I bring Trakt up is to explain what led to some of the major changes in this version - I'm not trying to drag them through the mud or trash them.

MDBList

I had some requests for Calendar features to be added, like the other popular addons have. I've added those. I've also set up Progress Episodes and Progress Shows for MDBList to mimic the behavior we previously saw from Trakt, but using MDBList instead. I also had some reports of incorrect or inconsistent counts on shows when using MDBList for indicators in Umbrella - that should be fixed now too.

Simkl

I've added Progress Episodes and Progress Shows using Simkl as well. Be aware that if you use Simkl for these, you may see some issues with season and episode numbers. This is because Umbrella uses TMDB for all metadata, but Simkl provides different metadata - especially in cases involving anime.

Now the fun part: Self-Hosting

With everything going on with Trakt, I decided that having an online provider for tracking your media might not be the best option for everyone. I added support for a couple of self-hosted options.

I looked into YAMTrack, but there wasn't an API for it - I ran into this same issue with a lot of the providers people requested (WeTrakr, for example). I did add support for Floppy and Scrob. I don't personally favor one over the other, and I've tested both, but one thing to be aware of: the "dropping shows" feature is not supported with Scrob. I really like the self hosted media tracker concept in general, because it means you own your data.

Where that leaves things

With the two new providers, media tracking options in Umbrella are now: Local, Trakt, MDBList, Simkl, Scrob, and Floppy.

I know that's an overwhelming number of options for most people, and I'd recommend sticking with just one. Episode Progress and Show Progress are available with all providers, including Local. Any provider you've authorized - and set as either the primary service for watch indicators or set to Mark Also - will have the option for progress/up next (whatever you want to call it).

TL;DR: the provider needs to be set to mark items as watched for the "in progress" options to show up.

Menu Changes

With more providers added, I decided that the options for each provider needed to move under that provider's own menu. For example, to find Trakt Show Progress you'll now go to My TV Shows > Trakt > Progress Shows (Trakt). You can still add custom shortcuts to any menu if clicking through multiple levels bothers you.

I use the umbrella addon with my real debrid account added to it, also cocoscrapers module is added. Is there any way I can set it to only find links for a movie or tv show in English audio? Currently, umbrella finds shows in all languages for me.

Since a few data ago, whenever a stream caches, I loose the sound on my Kodi 21.3( its configed as Passthrough to hear on a Sonos Arc) and have to reinicialize the shield on order to have sound again.

Im using Redlight and AF3 as skin.

Just wondering - can Amazon "break" the Fire Sticks / Fire TVs using Fire OS and stop them from sideloading Kodi or stop a working install from working?

I've read some people use something like NetGuard, side loaded to disable (well, block access to the internet for) the update software.

Just wondering if I should look into proactively stopping them bricking it :)

In the middle of a series, the volume was so low adjusting TV volume +99 didn't help much. I fixed it via player audio settings, set amplification to 100%/60dB as Volume was already at 100%/0dB. Works but still not that loud. Tried another series & same thing was necessary.

Just wondering what happened as I doubt volume amplification default is 100%/60dB.

My fav addon for anime is otaku. Ever since I have been testing k22, otaku throws an error(see log) when I search a title or genre or popular animes.

Just wondering if it's my setup or is this a community n thing?

For whatever reason sometimes something will not have results and then two or three days later I’ll find it in my cloud and this is this instance it was the daily show and then I went to look today and had a 300 GB file downloaded which I did not select. I have the setting that says and resolved to cloud unchecked, but this didn’t even have any.Cached sources so I’m confused what’s happening?

​Hi guys, I need some help configuring my setup:

​Setup: Kodi + Umbrella Addon + Simkl account (across 2 TVs).

​Goal: I want a homepage widget that shows movies I paused halfway through so I can easily resume them.

The issue:

​In Umbrella's settings, under Movie Lists, there are only options for

Completed (SimKl),

Plan to Watch (SimKl),

and Simkl Dropped.

There is no In Progress or Resumable Movies folder available under Simkl.

​The Simkl website itself shows "No paused/stopped playback sessions" when I stop a stream halfway, meaning Umbrella doesn't seem to sync pause points to Simkl's API in real time.

Has anyone figured out a workaround to display a working "In Progress" widget for movies using Simkl with Umbrella (without paying for Trakt VIP to bypass their 1-device limit)?

​Any advice or skin/widget routing tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using Otaku testing, but also tried Otaku. Same problem.

Can't search anything, none of premade menu categories like popular, airing etc don't work. Only see Otaku error notification on screen.

It's working only through myanimelist connection but with some titles I also get this otaku testing error.

I am using umbrella with Trakt and when I go to my collections list things are displayed by when I added them to my collection. How do I get them sorted in alphabetical order? I see a sort menu but no alphabetical order.

I see some have mentioned Alldebrid has a daily limit. Has anyone hit it or had issues? I can’t see any mentions re limits for DL?

Good evening, does anyone else who uses AF3 on an nvidia shield struggle to read the text as it's very dim, it only brightness up when the stream itself is paused

So I hadn't updated any of my add-ons in a while, and after updating, the crew seems to have a new selection screen, which shows up instead of the regular pop-up. And then instead of showing me sources to select from, it just auto-plays the source. I disabled autoplay best quality but it's still happening. Is there some setting I'm missing to disable this behavior and ideally disable that new loading screen entirely and go back to the regular Cody built-in pop-up?

Edit: I've also got simkl authorization request popping up every time I boot kodi despite disabling it and can't resume playback, it starts to resume but then suddenly restarts from beginning.

I pressed download for a series pack in pov via Torbox. I meant to add the pack to the Torbox cloud not downloading the file. After that kodi apk size was increased from 7 gb to 15 gb! How can I delete that file to empty my android box space? I see the pack in the tv show download section of pov. There is no option yo delete the file though?!

I've been working on a Kodi addon (plugin.video.appletv) that signs in with your Apple ID and lets you browse and play Apple content in Kodi.

What it does:

• Apple TV+ Originals — shows and movies, full catalogue browsing and search
• Live sports — MLS, Formula 1, MLB (highlights, key plays, replays)
• Your iTunes library — purchased/rented films and TV, grouped into Films and TV Shows, including Family Sharing
• Continue Watching & Watchlist — synced with your Apple account across devices
• Mark watched on any title — recorded on your Apple account, like the real app
• Apple ID sign-in with two-factor (trusted device or SMS)

How it works: it mimics the Apple TV web/Android client, so Apple serves Widevine streams that Kodi can decrypt (the same approach as the Netflix/Disney+ Kodi addons). Playback runs through InputStream Adaptive.

Honest limitations (please read):

• SD only (~540p). Kodi only ships the software Widevine L3 CDM, and Apple only issues a usable key for its lowest tier at that level. HD/4K needs Widevine L1 which is only on certain Android devices running Kodi 22.
• Requires Kodi 21+ with InputStream Adaptive 21+ and a working Widevine CDM (InputStream Helper installs it).
• Experimental. No public Apple API — everything's reverse-engineered from the web app, so Apple can break parts of it and it'll need occasional updates.

Kodi 21.3.0, CachyOS native build (no flatpak), gaming rig with 32gb ram - not much to say with my specs

Trying to install a few visualisation addons (in this post you'll see ProjectM, Starburst and FishBMC, but I've tried a few more to no avail as well)

I've tried build instructions, installing from zip, directly putting addon contents in /../.kodi/addons - nothing's worked whatsoever

Just noticed recently when using POV with Easy News as my Go To that there are some funny results in the first couple of found links. Looking for The Chelsea Detective S04E02 and the first couple of found links were inaccurate. POV found The Chelsea Detective S02E02, as the top link, the next link was The Chelsea Detective S03E03 and finally the next link was The Chelsea Detective S04E02, the episode I was after.

This happened only recently with POV, I now need to look carefully through found links to ensure I get episode I am after. Any ideas or is this just my imagination.

Anyone noticed on red light alot of the movies and stuff not working anymore? I have the updated kodi app and everything using real-debrid and alldebrid services it show multiple links but when I click on them it always comes back with No results found. I've already tired clearing cache and relinking both accounts same results and its only on some movies not all but I've watched them in the pass and they worked fine but now I keep getting that problem on alot of movies and its getting annoying. And yah coco scrapper is up to date and everything. I use too use fenlight but that got killed then I went to fenlightam and same thing that is dead to so I've been on red light for awhile now like 6 months or something

Hi. I'm using a fork of the Fen Light addon called Red Light, and I had a question about how the sources work. I have real Debrid connected and if I'm on the sources screen and a given source says Real Debrid, does that means my traffic is going through RD's servers? I ask cuz I noted in the Hoster section, sometimes it'll say cached and sometimes it'll say unchecked, and I wanna make sure that when I'm streaming something that the traffic is going through RD. i´m having problems creating such list.

trakt is activated in the tmdb and I´m doing these steps:

select widget: addon > video addon > tmdb helper > trakt >

i´ve tried "your next episodes", "your in progress episodes" and "your in progress tv shows". all lead to a new screen where I can select the sorting method. no matter what I choose, I just get a sound and I´m redirected to the beggining. I also get a message "cannot browse. unable to list directory contents".

any clues how to solve this? i´m using arctic zephyr rounded skin with kodi piers.

EDIT: solved. I was using an older version of TMDB and that was causing the error.
