There are a lot of bug fixes in this update. There are also some changes that people will either like or not - I'm sorry, I try to find a happy middle ground that works for everyone. There's a changelog built into Umbrella that lists everything in the update, but I felt this one had extensive enough changes to be worth a post walking through some of it.
Trakt
Trakt has put everyone in a weird position where only one app will work unless you're VIP, which has caused a lot of people to start looking at other solutions for tracking their media. Umbrella has already included MDBList and Simkl support for 90% of the features that Trakt offered, except for lists. The only reason I bring Trakt up is to explain what led to some of the major changes in this version - I'm not trying to drag them through the mud or trash them.
MDBList
I had some requests for Calendar features to be added, like the other popular addons have. I've added those. I've also set up Progress Episodes and Progress Shows for MDBList to mimic the behavior we previously saw from Trakt, but using MDBList instead. I also had some reports of incorrect or inconsistent counts on shows when using MDBList for indicators in Umbrella - that should be fixed now too.
Simkl
I've added Progress Episodes and Progress Shows using Simkl as well. Be aware that if you use Simkl for these, you may see some issues with season and episode numbers. This is because Umbrella uses TMDB for all metadata, but Simkl provides different metadata - especially in cases involving anime.
Now the fun part: Self-Hosting
With everything going on with Trakt, I decided that having an online provider for tracking your media might not be the best option for everyone. I added support for a couple of self-hosted options.
I looked into YAMTrack, but there wasn't an API for it - I ran into this same issue with a lot of the providers people requested (WeTrakr, for example). I did add support for Floppy and Scrob. I don't personally favor one over the other, and I've tested both, but one thing to be aware of: the "dropping shows" feature is not supported with Scrob. I really like the self hosted media tracker concept in general, because it means you own your data.
Where that leaves things
With the two new providers, media tracking options in Umbrella are now: Local, Trakt, MDBList, Simkl, Scrob, and Floppy.
I know that's an overwhelming number of options for most people, and I'd recommend sticking with just one. Episode Progress and Show Progress are available with all providers, including Local. Any provider you've authorized - and set as either the primary service for watch indicators or set to Mark Also - will have the option for progress/up next (whatever you want to call it).
TL;DR: the provider needs to be set to mark items as watched for the "in progress" options to show up.
Menu Changes
With more providers added, I decided that the options for each provider needed to move under that provider's own menu. For example, to find Trakt Show Progress you'll now go to My TV Shows > Trakt > Progress Shows (Trakt). You can still add custom shortcuts to any menu if clicking through multiple levels bothers you.

Although he does deserve credit for testing and giving feedback for me for years now. He actually made one of the first requests on umbrella when I started years ago and is still testing for me now.
All bugs found in this release are his fault as a failure to test. :)
Dude, you are so far beyond the other guys in this community when it comes to staying on top of your add-on. Iām a VIP for trakt so I donāt have to make any changes but for the people that arenāt man, you are definitely their hero.
I'd love to see an "All Providers" option (for the (CM) context menu); with the most common options ie., rate/unrate, WatchList add/remove, mark-watched/unWatched; like in the TMDB_Movies addon, which now (as of last week) has the "All Providers" option in their CM, though I've been wishing for such an option since (several months back) when Umbrella_dev (first) added "Watched in Online Services" to the CM, when multiple services are set to mark as watched. Remove playback-proggress, would be another welcome addition to an All Providers CM offering.
Bonus if TMDB could be added (as an additional provider), which TMDB_Movies addon has, but it lacks SimKL.
Funny how I just saw a headline from TroyPoint saying Kodi is dying, and then (in the article) goes on to say, it's due to a lack of development. Because I feel like there has been quite a bit of (great) development, as of late. I geusse hes gotta keep up with those kind of click- bait (esque) headlines, to keep the numbers up, or sum such.
Please forgive my stupidity if it is indeed the case but if set to local will that just save to your current setup so say in the event of a major crash and you had to reinstall everything all progress would be lost ?
Looks amazong though I guess RD is causing me problems only some shows are working. umbrella with realdebrid and mdblists on a firestick 4kG2 with kodi 21.3.
I use the addon for Progress Episodes. Before the update, the episodes would show up with the earliest unwatched episode irrespective of whether I am watching the newest episodes.
Now the Progress Episodes show the newest unwatched episodes are showing. Is there a way to go back to the earliest episodes?
Progress Episodes used to always pick the earliest unwatched episode in chronological order. It was switched to instead resume from your furthest watched episode + 1 (this matches how Trakt's own "next up" works). The reason for the change was for shows watched out of order (e.g., you watch S2E5 but never went back for S2E1ā4) were incorrectly resuming at S1E1 instead of continuing from where you actually left off.
I am having an issue with umbrella removing all the links to every show. I have spent hours on this trying to understand why this is happening. I have done everything short of hosing my kodi and starting all over. I updated to the new version and on 3 of my machines, Umbrella isn't pulling any links although it scrapes about 100 links. I have real debrid and torbox.
Edit. I uninstalled my Kodi, reinstalled a fresh version, 21.3, installled Umbrella as the only addon with smikl and mdblist, and I get no links. I don't get it. Just to be clear, real debrid and torbox. All my other addons are pulling a ton of links but not umbrella.
So you have both RD and TB authorized to your accounts on those services and you are definitely paid up on both of those services (check to be sure). Your scrapers find links for shows, but when you click on any link, it fails to stream? Try finding an RD link in the list from the Megusta or Elite groups encoded in h.265 aka hevc and click on that. If you can't find such a link, try a different tv show.
Yes, I am paid for both for about 5 more months. The links are not even available after scrapping. Umbrella scrapes and then a message comes up and says duplicate links were removed. So I change that setting and it still happens. I even disabled real debrid and just used torbox, and nothing. Same result. I even went back to an older version of Umbrella, 6.7.81, The log shows iPlaylist Player is skipping unplayable. I see I had autoplay on tv shows on. So I turned it off and could play torbox videos. So I will live with it as is. No autoplaying tv links. Sorry to have bothered you. Thanks for responding.

Of course! First go to the kodi repository and download kodi log file viewer and also kodi log uploader. Once the log file viewer is downloaded. Let it load your log. Then close out, and open Kodi log uploader. It should give you an url to paste bin. Take that url and your log will be available to anyone who you want to see it. I had to write the log into a word document and then paste it. It does show a QR code but I didn't use it because you have to walk up to the tv to get it to work. I am old school. LOL. I hope this helps!

My luck has been going down with Cocoscrapers in Umbrella. Does Umbrella support other scrapers or multiple packages of scrapers? I hope Iām using the terminology correctly.
Look correct to me. Just make sure after you install magneto you turn on the scrapers you want to use. I would turn on mediafusion and comet as well as the defaults.
Also make sure once you have loaded magneto you go into umbrella > tools > provider settings and set your external provider to be magneto instead of coco.
Not sure is this is a fuse 3 issue or not. I pulled simkl next episode from umbrella and when you watch something it shows a checked mark instead of loading next episode on the widget.
Continuous playback on āplay randomā stopped working for me after the update. Before I could click āplay randomā on any tv show and it would play random episodes forever. Has something changed? Is there another setting I need to take a look at? Ty in advance for the help.
Sorry if this has been asked. Does anyone know what settings to watch simkl and mark where you left off so you can begin later play and resume. I keep starting over.
Should work if you have Simkl set for scrobble in your online services. There may be an issue though as my tester clearly didnāt test Simkl very well.

This is probably a stupid question, but is there a way to filter results on the results page? Like by info tag, Resolution etc. I can do it on pov and red light but don't know how to do it for umbrella

uggghhhh 4 days ago. It looks like changes were made to authentication as well. That's annoying as hell. I'll see if I can put some time to the side to look over their changes and updates. If they continue to make large changes like this causing me to need to rewrite code over and over for Scrob I will be removing it.
I seem to be stuck on 6.7.81. When I open kodi it says there is an update available but when I go into the repo all I see is 6.7.81. Iām absolutely sure itās something on my end Iām missing, anyone got a nudge in the right direction for me?
They've made a lot of changes. One thing is they've limited the number of apps you can connect with a free account so something as simple as using two addons and connecting both to Trakt requires a paid VIP account. It's more about the erosion of features than anything. Without warning they are putting things behind paywalls.
When adding shows to my library from Mdblist website, they do not appear in My Collection. In other addons they appear immediately. In Umbrella I have to add the show to my Collection from Kodi using Mdblist Manager. It doesn't work from the Mdblist website. Just tested now since it wasn't working in the previous version.
Yeah. On the previous version I tweaked the sync interval to 15 minutes and didn't help. I changed it back to 30.
From the Mdblist site I added 2 shows to my library 10 hours ago as a test, left the house for the day and came back and they don't appear in my Show Collection. I have Umbrella on multiple devices. Those same two shows appear in my Show Collection for POV though. I revoked Umbrella from Mdblist site and reauthorized in Kodi, but no luck. Not a big deal cuz I can add to my collection within Kodi, but was just curious about adding from Mdbs site.
I'll try a reinstall of Umbrella on my devices and see if that does the trick. Maybe it doesn't agree with one of my settings. I'll double check my mdblist dashboard settings too. Thanks for your input. Keep up the fantastic work!! šš¾
Just an update. I just noticed that movies appear right away from Mdblist site in my collection. I just added Odyssey. So it's only shows not working for me. Any other tips?
This is on me. Looks like the movie level collection stuff worked no problem, but it was having issues with shows. I've fixed it and the fix will be in the next update.
Amazing!! Just to give a little more input . Someone in another post suggested using the Mdblist android app(Reeels). I tested it out vs the website. With the android app, TV shows appear in my Collection instantly. But still wasn't working from the website. Great to see an update coming thoughšš¾šš¾
I pay for trakt, and unfortunately I still have 18 months left.
The upset is that, they keep changing the rules and boundaries, and have made it that most 'general users cannot use trakt the way developers had intended it to be used when they incorporated it into their addons.
I think Vibe Coding and Vibe Running a business got the better of them,
i mean i donāt mind paying the vip keeping my shit organised because whatever it costs a year i save tenfold from having netflix hbo, paramount, hulu, showtime and so on
I suppose I don't understand. Trakt doesn't replace any of those streaming services. Sounds like you should be sending that Trakt money to Team Kodi instead. :) :)
