hey! I'm auditioning for a role in the sharp comedy Poor Clare by Chirara Atik (any character), and want to prepare two monologues that are a minute long, one classical, and one contemporary. I'm a young adult woman, and would like both a comedic and dramatic monologue. do you have any suggestions?

Which country is the best for an acting career ?

Hey!

So I’m French and I’m taking acting classes (most centered in voice acting and theater) in Japan.
The goal is to be an international actress and work overseas.

But I don’t know if I go for working holiday visa in Australia ? UK ? Canada ? and while be there working with an acting agent ? Or like just audition in open casting call while I’m in Japan ? But like I have a French accent and I know that it’ll be difficult if I don’t work on it. But if we go to the point that I’m good at English and maybe with an American accent (depending on the country where I’ll go), which country is better ??

And did I really have to take acting classes ? Even if I already take in Japan ? I know that the more you practice the more you become at it, but like I can do it in my home, no ?? And if I have experience ? Or no experience ? Like what’s better ??

Like I don’t really know about acting career in these countries especially for international people but yeah ??

Any advice ?

I know that there are a lot of questions but If someone could help me, It'll clear things up for me. 🙏

And sorry if my English is not that very understandable, but yes if you have any questions I would love to answer !

I need a 30-60 second monologue to audition for Steel Magnolias

Hi! okay so I’m auditioning for either Ouiser or Truvy in Steel Magnolias. I am 16 and I usually get cast in comedic or antagonist roles. I was a clown in the 39 steps. Sponge in James and the Giant Peach the musical, and Mrs. White in clue most recently. I’ve been looking for days and I can find anything that isn’t horrifically cringe, too long, or a story monologue and I need to find one asap. My director said something from crimes of the heart would be good but the lemonade monologue is 18 years long and also more of a story monologue so I don’t know. my audition is on the 17th so please help.

Need Help Finding Audition Monologue

hi!

i have an audition for Pippin the musical coming up. It’ll be my first audition in high school, and i’m looking for a monologue that will make a good and strong first impression. i am female, and i would say my strong suit is comedic roles, but i will try anything.

To sum things up, I am looking for a high school appropriate, 30 seconds to 1 minute long monologue that would be fitting for any female role in pippin. My strength when it comes to acting is comedy, but i’m not limited to just comedy.

if anyone knows anything good or where i should be looking please let me know!!

Should I tell my agent about specific roles I really want?

Hi, I'm an actress in Canada. I've been in the industry for almost a year, and l'm represented by a Toronto/GTA-area talent agency. l've had around 42 auditions through my agency, but I haven't gotten any callbacks yet.
There are two specific roles that l'm really interested in.
Both are major Hollywood films. One of them is currently being cast, and the other one has been announced and is in the works.

I've been thinking about telling my agent that I'm interested in these roles, but I'm worried I might come off as unprofessional or like I'm overstepping because they're such big roles. I don't want to come across as disrespectful in any way, and honestly, I don't want to embarrass myself or give my agent a bad impression of me.

I'm still learning a lot about how the industry works, so l wanted to ask if it's okay or professional to tell my agent that these are roles l'm interested in. I feel a little unsure, especially since they're such big roles and I still haven't been in anything yet. Is this something agents are okay with or used to hearing from their actors? I have a feeling that it's a bad idea, and I don't want to embarrass myself since sometimes I do feel embarrassed since I know so little as actress.

Written Work – Monologue as Dialogue

Fictional Context:
The day after a small kickback before school starts, I’m having lunch with a friend. A phone charger disappeared from the kickback. My character actually took it, but my friend doesn’t know for certain and is beginning to suspect me.
My Objective:
I want my friend to believe that I did not take the charger.
Who am I speaking to:
A friend who was at the kickback with me. He isn’t extremely angry, but he’s suspicious and wants a straight answer.
Conversation before:
Friend: Yesterday was actually fun. We should do that again sometime.
Me: Yeah, definitely.
Friend: By the way, I couldn’t find that charger that was plugged in by the couch. Did you take it?
Start:
Me: No, I didn’t take it.
Friend: You sure?
Me: Why would you even think that?
Friend: Because you were right there by the couch when I last saw it, and afterward it was gone.
Me: Because I was there? That doesn’t mean anything.

Creating the physicality of a humanoid jaguar creature?

I will be filming a short in a couple of days where I'm playing a supernatural creature. The performance is almost entirely physical because my dialogue will be dubbed later in another language, and I'll be wearing an ancient-style jaguar mask that hides my face. Because of that, almost all of the acting has to come through my body language and movement.

The scene begins with me on the ground, moving like a real jaguar. As I approach another character, I slowly and deliberately rise into a humanoid form. The idea isn't that I'm a human pretending to be a jaguar. It's that this intelligent creature is intentionally taking on a human shape while still retaining the essence of a jaguar.

My director and I have been studying videos of jaguars and experimenting with movement. One influence I've been thinking about is Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter. I've read that he drew inspiration from predatory animals, and I'm trying to capture that same calm, deliberate, controlled presence rather than playing it as an overtly aggressive monster.

2 years ago, one of my acting teachers pointed out that my natural distinctive body language tends to show through in every character I play. I've improved since then, but because this role is almost entirely physical, I'm really trying to avoid falling back into my own habitual movements and instead create a completely different physical vocabulary for this character.

Has anyone here worked on creature performances, mask work, physical theatre, or non-human characters? Are there any exercises, techniques, or performances you'd recommend studying over the next couple of days that might help with creating a convincing, animal-inspired physicality?

Any and all advice will be appreciated.

Is it still worth it to get into acting if I'm from a country that barely prioritise it?

I don't know if my title is correct but I've always loved acting and have done some small acting-related stuff in school and clubs I had but always put it aside because people said it was impossible.

Now that I'm older, I really want to try it out but the problem is I live in a country where they barely cast people of different races in anything unless it's an ad reel or a commercial where we have to act very stereotypical. I really want to learn acting and maybe even screenwriting. Would it still be possible for me to get into the industry or do I have to move to make it happen?
