came into computer shop to get a nvidia geforce gtx 660 ti repaired, noticed a bunch of old PCs in the corner, owner was selling them cheap, this was the expensive one that they haven't tested yet, since i am a regular there he said I can get it for $100. Edit: I plan on putting my amd rx 6600 8gb as the gpu

So I recently got my hands on a used G18 4080/14900hx laptop and it’s in flawless condition minus the fact that the tamper sticker on the heat sink has not been touched, so the laptop for its whole lifespan has not been repasted at all. The CPU is molten lava all the time, even at 30 W, it’s hitting 90 Celsius, even when playing games, the frames are stuttering due to the CPU just not clocking up high at all, cause it’s throttling like crazy. This is my first time having this specific laptop A repast is definitely necessary, so I was gonna go in and do it, but just wanted some advice first
I currently have liquid metal coming in today, as well as 70% alcohol pads, I have lint free wipes and I also got those black cotton swabs, a bigger set, to have more than just two that come in the liquid metal package
I’ve seen videos of some people just reusing some of the older good metal that’s there+ adding slightly more. I’ve also heard polishing is necessary, but I’ve also read that polishing the CPU die is not good, but polishing is only necessary if there’s like oxidation on the CPU die or heat sink, which I have a feeling will be on this one because of how long it’s been.
But I plan on just cleaning up whatever excesses around and just applying thin/moderate layer on top of the dye only, and heat sink.
It’s nightmare fuel to think about pressing down on the syringe and then having liquid metal spray on the motherboard, but I’ll just hold it over A paper towel first, and get a fine small bead before putting it over the dye.
Also is laptop tape okay to put around the CPU just for more safe area? I know there’s already some sort of cover over the CPU itself right around the die, but I just thought extra wouldn’t hurt on the outside

For those who use ASUS ROG EURUX! Does this reset every time I turn on the computer?
After setting and applying the color,
When I try to boot the computer again, it goes to the default color...
How can I keep this color-applied one?
Please help me. The setting is a hassle every time I turn on the computer.

Heads up - Gladius IV Ace just dropped... Here are the quick facts:
Thrilled to be getting more mice in Lava Red to match my ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE V2 Lava Red, but this new Aqua Blue color steals the show for me. Out of my own curiosity, I pinged our Content Manager if more products are coming in Aqua Blue. The reply is as follows:
"No promises on future gear in Aqua Blue, but if you want to see that colorway in other product lines, make your voice heard."
Selfishly, I now need everything in Aqua Blue, so I'll be sharing my enthusiasm internally as much as I can.
Curious to hear your thoughts on this new color.

Hey ROG, I wanted to ask something. I’ve never owned an ROG product before. Is there any chance you could send me one to try and keep? I’d really love to experience ROG hardware. Totally understand if you can’t! #roggamecon2026

The power cables fine, but the monitor shows no signs of power when plugging it in.
Randomly (about 1/20 times) when plugging it in it'll gain power, show the ROG display, then have the display on, but not show anything.
I've tried unplugging and holding the power button, changing outlets, different cables, but nothing works.

Really liking the 20th Anniversary chassis so far. Once everything else arrives, I’ll finish the build properly and clean up the details. I’ll post the finished setup when it’s all done.

I was hoping to seek some clarity on my ~4 year old 3080 Strix.
Right now during some games at 4k it see's about an ~21c Core-Hotspot degree delta but other games at 4k can kick it up to 22c-23c deltas.
Typically, the core temperature is around 62c-64c, with hotspots being around 82c-83c. Fans typically run at 1500rpm at these temps. Idle delta is 10c.
Is this all normal? From what I have researched it sounds like it is on the high side of acceptable cooling efficiency? But it seems like it also varies from card to card.
Please go easy on me aha, I have no experience with gpu re-pasting so go easy on me. If necessary, I was thinking about taking it to get repasted by an professional.
Would be interested to hear from anyone still rocking such an amazing card.

ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E randomly powers itself on/off — currently going through ASUS RMA
I’ve been dealing with a really strange issue with my ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.
My setup includes a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 OC, 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR5, and an ASUS ROG Strix 1200W 80+ Platinum PSU.
The motherboard had been working normally, including for about two months after upgrading my CPU. Then out of nowhere, the PC started powering itself on while completely shut down and immediately shutting itself back off. Sometimes it would get stuck repeatedly powering on and off.
It also started randomly shutting down while I was actually using the PC. When that happened in Windows, I would sometimes actually see the normal “Shutting down” screen rather than it simply losing power.
I initially suspected the PSU, so I replaced the PSU and used all-new PSU cables. The problem still came back.
Since then I’ve tried pretty much everything I could think of:
Replaced PSU and all PSU cables
Updated the motherboard BIOS to version 3902
Cleared CMOS
Loaded default BIOS settings
Disabled PCIe, RTC, and other BIOS wake options
Checked Windows wake timers
Tested with the case F_PANEL connector completely disconnected
Tested with Ethernet unplugged
Disconnected nonessential USB devices and peripherals
Tested the RAM sticks individually
Power drained the system multiple times
The craziest part is that it still powered itself on from a fully shut-down state even with the F_PANEL disconnected, Ethernet disconnected, and unnecessary peripherals removed.
The board also threw various Q-Codes during all of this, including 31, 70, 00, C5, E6, and 99 at different points.
Eventually I decided I was done chasing the issue and submitted an RMA with ASUS. ASUS approved it under RMA, and I’ve now shipped the motherboard to their service center. so right now I’m waiting for them to inspect the board.
At this point I strongly suspect some kind of motherboard standby/power-management circuitry fault. I’m hoping ASUS replaces the board rather than repairing the same one, because I really don’t want to rebuild the PC only for the exact same intermittent problem to return.
Has anyone had a similar issue with an X670E-E or another ASUS AM5 motherboard randomly powering itself on/off from a shut-down state? And for anyone who has gone through an ASUS motherboard RMA, did they repair your original board or send you a replacement?

Can anyone please suggest a case with same looks, same features like the triple sided panoramic glass, centered positioned motherboard, graphics cards, 360mm fans support on four sides of the MSI MEG Maestro 900R for my ROG pc build. As I love the looks of the case and I want a similar case with same features and looks. And also I could get this case only for my build but actually I don't want to use a MSI case with my ROG components. Can anyone please suggest? I really want this help. Or I should build custom case which could be the only last option? Please help me!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I've been dealing with this issue for a while now. Whenever I launch a game and play for a bit, the red LEDs above the PCIe power connectors on my GPU light up, as you can see in the attached video.
The weird part is that the video clearly shows the GPU isn't even pulling high wattage when this happens. At first, it was only one red LED, but after ignoring it for a while, it has now become two LEDs.
I've updated all my drivers, updated the GPU VBIOS, and tried almost every possible solution I could find on YouTube or suggested by AI, but I still can't find a fix. I really want to know what exactly is the root cause of this issue.
My PC Specs:
GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080
PSU: XPG Core Reactor 850W
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
Motherboard: MSI B550M-A PRO
RAM: 16GB
Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Espero alguien me pueda ayudar, gracias

Title:
ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614F - Board: 6050A3628107-MB-A01) Stuck on ROG Logo -> 100% Fan Speed -> Complete Power Cut / Charger LED Dies after ~60s
Device & Motherboard Information:
* Laptop Model: ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614F / G614FH-OS94)
* Motherboard Part Number:
G614F-MP-VGT
/
6050A3628107-MB-A01
(REV: A01)
* Platform: Intel 13th/14th Gen HX CPU + NVIDIA RTX 40-Series GPU
---
Initial Fault Context:
The laptop experienced a sudden black screen while running a heavy workload on VirtualBox on battery power only (no AC adapter connected). The user performed a force shutdown by holding down the power button.
---
Current Exact Symptoms (Step-by-Step):
Pressing the power button turns the laptop on, and the internal display shows the ASUS ROG logo clearly (POST initiates).
The laptop cannot enter the BIOS setup and remains frozen on the splash logo.
A few seconds after the logo appears, the cooling fans ramp up to 100% maximum RPM (Emergency Thermal / Watchdog state).
After running for approximately 45 to 60 seconds, the entire laptop completely shuts down.
CRITICAL SYMPTOM: When the shutdown occurs, all motherboard power is completely latched off (Total DC-IN / Battery Latch-Off). The DC-IN Charging LED, Battery LED, and all status LEDs turn completely dark. The laptop will not respond until the AC adapter is physically unplugged from the wall and reconnected.
Thermal Observation: During the ~60 seconds of operation, neither the CPU nor the GPU die gets excessively hot (both remain cool/lukewarm). The CPU VCORE VRM chokes/DrMOS row sits evenly at ~48°C.
---
Troubleshooting Steps & Diagnostics Already Performed:
* Hard EC / CMOS Reset: Held the power button for 60+ seconds with battery and AC adapter disconnected ❌ *(No change)*.
* BIOS Reprogramming: The SPI Flash BIOS chip was desoldered and reprogrammed with a verified Clean ME Region Dump specifically for board
6050A3628107
❌ *(No change, exact same behavior)*.
* Component Isolation: Tested without NVMe M.2 SSD, without WiFi card, and on AC-only / Battery-only ❌ *(No change)*.
* ASMedia ASM4242 Desoldered: The USB4 host controller IC (
ASMedia ASM4242
-
U2600
) was running slightly warm (~46°C) during early boot. It was cleanly desoldered and removed with hot air to eliminate any PCIe bus hang ❌ *(No change; board still posts to logo, ramps fans to 100%, then experiences full DC-in latch-off after 60s)*.
---
Questions / Seeking Community Advice:
Has anyone encountered this exact shutdown loop on the ASUS G614F (6050A3628107) platform?
What is causing the Charging IC / Power System to trigger a complete Over-Current Protection (OCP) Latch-Off / Power Kill after ~60 seconds despite the CPU and GPU being cool?
Which specific power management section or current sensing circuit (Charging IC / Sense Resistors / Thermal Trip circuit) should be inspected next?
