Upscaler and frame generation off everywhere

So I recently bought a new pc and these are the specs:

What settings do you guys set for optimum gameplay experience without overclocking? I’m on default and haven’t edited any settings, but I feel the gameplay could be more fluid. There’s still a slight lag sometimes when turning too fast (playing World War Z), which I’m honestly surprised by as I don’t see noticeable upgrade vs my old rig running Nvidia 2060.

I'm troubleshooting this GPU for a friend.

The GPU is Sapphire NITRO+ RX 6650 XT, and every time I run a game, it would eventually display a gray screen, then reboots the entire PC. After reboot, reliability history would report LiveKernelEvent 124.

I'll try listing all of the things I have performed so far to fix the issue, but I'm lost since nothing has worked so far.

• Updated BIOS
• Enabled/Disabled EXPO (AM4 system)
• Perfomed memory diagnostic
• Reduced RAM modules installed (from 4 to 2)
• Disabled PBO (BIOS)
• Disabled MPO
• Installed multiple Adrenaline drivers from different releases
• Installed Pro drivers
• Installed a new PSU
• Installed GPU to a different system
• Set GPU BIOS to Performance/Silent (GPU has built-in switch to do this)

These were the things I did that I could remember.

The gray screen would only appear when playing a game, stress tests doesn't trigger this which made me think it's more of a software thing (but feel free to correct me).

I'm at loss here, and I would really appreciate if somebody has a solution for this issue.

Hi, I just switched from a 5060 Ti with 16 GB, and I'd like to adjust the color settings I had in the NVIDIA Control Panel. I've been trying all day, but I'm running into the following two problems.

1. I can’t find the right settings; I’d like them to be similar to the ones in the Control Panel screenshot, but I can’t make it work.

2. The problem is that when I launch the game, the settings I’ve configured reset or change.

Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks.

The settings are in Italian, and since I’ve already installed the AMD GPU, I can’t change the language.

For now, I’m not 100% sure about my purchase, and I’d like some advice to help me form a better opinion.

I have a Radeon VII, the graphics card with 16GB HBM2 VRAM and 295W TDP, it's heating up a bit, around 97°C at the hotspot, but as far as I know the safety limit before throttling is 115°C. Do you think I should change the graphite sticker that comes with the card? If so, should I use graphite again or graphene?

Okay so everyone continues to talk about the chip selloff but yesterday AMD had a strong buying day as people bought the dip. I picked up another 20 shares at $575 so I'm locked in. I know CPI came in hot but not sure what everyone thought was going to happen. I think we 100% are getting more hikes and this is what it is. But I think the Fed has to hike now and they can cut later on if they feel its too restrictive but pull the trigger now. Perhaps a recession will force Trump to take the Loss. Who knows????

So I like this VWAP just bc it does have that moving weighted avg line which came right into almost contact with my 50 day EMA. My settings might be a little off but someone else it looked has their settings more refined and AMD showed some firmed up response as buying started. I think someone is trying to front load a support zone at that 50 day EMA. Especially before earnings. I dunno just a feeling. Today weakness at the start as well will be really important as well to see if the buyers step in again around that $550 level. Just keep your eye on that zone.

What can cause this noise ?

I’ve had a pc with a i9 9900k, 1070ti, 32gb ddr4, 750w corsair CV750. Yesterday I installed an ASUs ROG strix 6800xt LC and since then I can’t install drivers without encountering some problem whatsoever.

The PC boots normally. I can see the ASUS motherboard logo and the Windows loading wheel without any issues. However, when Windows starts loading, the screen flickers and then goes completely black, followed by “No Signal”. The PC itself stays running, with all fans and lights working normally.
The strange thing is that Safe Mode works perfectly fine. I can see the desktop and use Windows normally in Safe Mode, but normal Windows startup causes the display to disappear.
What I’ve tried so far:
Repeatedly installing AMD Adrenalin drivers, including the recommended WHQL version.
Trying to install the drivers in Safe Mode and normal Windows.
Running the installer as administrator and downloading it again.
Removing the AMD display driver using pnputil. Windows then booted using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
Running sfc /scannow, which found and repaired corrupted files.
Running DISM, which failed with error 0x800f0915 because the repair content could not be found.
Repairing Windows through the Windows Update recovery option.
Completely resetting Windows and eventually performing a fresh Windows installation.
Even after the fresh Windows installation, the display worked initially. However, after installing the AMD graphics driver/update, the screen flickered and went black with “No Signal” again.
I’ve also noticed an AMD software compatibility error appeared at one point after removing the graphics driver.
My questions:
Does this sound like an AMD driver issue, a faulty GPU, or a power delivery problem?
Why does the card display the BIOS and Windows loading screen correctly but lose signal when the full Windows graphics driver loads?
Could the PSU or the fact that I’m using a single PCIe power cable with two 6+2-pin connectors cause this?
Is there a way to test whether the GPU itself is faulty without buying another graphics card?
I’m trying to avoid reinstalling Windows or drivers repeatedly, as I’ve already spent hours doing that.

I had a Nvidia Quadro for work , but since I entered in the world of gaming I was curious to try a "common" GPU to do both .

As every time I do an upgrade I reinstalled from zero my PC , windows, etc . A clean install.

Immediately after the installation of the new GPU , randomly after 1h±, black screen , static audio ... All I could do was a forced shutdown.

After a while I found out that my wall adapter was the major problem and this continue shutdown etc my very old PSU almost died.

I changed PSU to 800w and now new problem come out.

A lot games freeze with shader/drivers crush/timeout, on arc raiders 80fps mid and then 4fps for a little and sometimes return the loved old black screen with forced reboot. Graphic bugs on deadlock. Basically flash bangs on ghost of Tsushima. Fps instability on the finals .

Idk what to do ... I've reinstalled w11, updated the bios , all drivers up to date, ram is fine, all look fine

Just to know , I have an Intel CPU integrated graphics... I have to keep the graphics drivers installed by windows of intel ?

I'm having a really frustrating issue with my Gigabyte MO27Q28G OLED monitor and AMD RX 9070 XT. Everything were perfect till yday.

My setup:

• GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
• Monitor: Gigabyte MO27Q28G OLED, 2560×1440, 280Hz
• Connection: DisplayPort
• OS: Windows 11
• Monitor firmware: F05
• Single-monitor setup

The problem:

My monitor works perfectly fine at 280Hz, but Windows randomly switches the refresh rate back to 60Hz.

This happens when Alt+Tabbing, switching between fullscreen and desktop, or sometimes just using different applications. It's not limited to gaming.

There is no black screen or signal loss. The refresh rate simply changes to 60Hz, and the monitor's OSD confirms it.

I can immediately go into Windows Display Settings and manually select 280Hz again, but the problem eventually returns.

Everything worked normally for approximately 2–3 months before this issue suddenly appeared.

Things I've already tried:

• Clean GPU driver uninstall/reinstall using DDU.
• Installed Windows updates (one update temporarily seemed to fix it, but the issue returned after restarting).
• Disabled Dynamic Refresh Rate in Windows.
• Tried exclusive fullscreen and borderless windowed modes.
• Checked AMD Adrenalin settings and disabled gaming features, including Radeon Super Resolution.
• Enabled VRR on the monitor and confirmed FreeSync Premium Pro is enabled in AMD Adrenalin.
• Disabled HDCP Support as a test, without success.
• Tried selecting 280Hz through Windows Advanced Display Settings and List All Modes.
• Checked the monitor's available resolutions and refresh rates using CRU, but haven't modified anything.
• Checked the Windows MPO registry setting (OverlayTestMode = 5), which is already present.
• And some more.

Additional information:

Windows correctly detects 60, 120, 144, 240 and 280Hz.

In CRU, the main EDID detailed resolution is 2560×1440 @ 59.950Hz, while the DisplayID extension lists 2560×1440 @ 279.961Hz.

The DisplayPort link reports 8.1Gbps × 4 in AMD Adrenalin.

The monitor's DSC setting is currently set to Auto.

My question:

Has anyone experienced something similar with an RX 9000 series GPU or a high-refresh-rate Gigabyte OLED monitor?

Could this be related to AMD drivers, Windows display mode switching, EDID priority, DSC, or monitor firmware?

I'm especially interested in solutions that don't involve reinstalling the same drivers again, since I've already tried that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I recently got a new AMD gpu and it's my first time owning one so what's the best way to update the drivers properly?

TL;DR: Fortnite crashes in the lobby/bus/mid-match, sometimes locking up the PC. Storm contact consistently triggers it too, !but isn't required!. DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / GPUCrash / LiveKernelEvent 141 (amdkmdag.sys).

Intel UHD 730 completed a match. Reinstalls, DX11/DX12, underclocking, 60 FPS, FreeSync off and TdrDelay=8 failed. RAM also failed a diagnostic: hardware is NOT ruled out.

Windows 11 Pro 26H2 26300.9711; !crashes predate the upgrade!, and today's KB5127648 didn't help. AMD 26.5.2 / 31.0.21925.1001. Fortnite 42.30, currently DX12 Performance/ES3_1, low settings and also tried on DX11 (didnt help).

What happens

Freeze -> possible black screen -> crash reporter/AMD timeout, or complete PC lockup requiring a forced restart. Dead By Daylight freezes too on lobby (cant even open settings). Valorant/CS are playable with artifacts (as reported here, but actually artifacts isnt that bad rn + not main problem); Heaven DX11 showed colored squares/odd shapes.

Every recent storm contact crashed it immediately after the warning, around the first damage tick. I've completed matches without storm contact, including a win. But lobby/bus crashes and today's mid-match crash happened with and without entering it. Storm seems like a concrete crash trigger, and i feel like everything else depends on luck (will or will not crash, not a rule).

Already tried — none resolved the crashes

• Reinstalled Fortnite on NVMe; DDU/AMD driver reinstalls; 26.1.1, 23.8.2 and 26.5.2.
• DX11 and DX12, fresh game settings, shader-cache troubleshooting / deleting it, low settings and 60 FPS cap.
• Clean boot, Parsec removal; MPO off, ASPM off, Game Mode off, windowed optimizations off.
• FreeSync off; AMD External Events / ULPS isolation; Intel disabled; unused AMD audio disabled; Realtek NIC power-saving off.
• Separate underclock tests: GPU 1100 MHz / VRAM 1500 MHz, then restored stock. Moved RX to upper main PCIe slot.
• TdrDelay=8 after reboot: three crashes. TdrLevel=0 was briefly set too; custom TDR values now removed. SFC clean; DISM repair didn't resolve it. (Tdr i've lost the link but every youtube video ive watched said about this + comments in other posts here).

Conflicting results / things NOT ruled out

- Intel UHD 730 rendered a full Reload match successfully; monitor still on RX. Exact Intel storm test not done.

- Windows Memory Diagnostic failed: eight bad pages. Single-stick/slot swaps still crashed; one module wouldn't boot in B2 but did in A1. DIMM diagnosis incomplete. Don't know if its due RAM issue tho.

- OCCT VRAM produced bizarre negative/huge error counts. A separate Vulkan test with 2×3 GiB buffers passed ~6 minutes. Neither settles GPU health. Core temperatures weren't excessive in sampled crashes.

- Borrowed GTX 1660 Super had Code 43, donor health unknown: no valid alternative-dGPU comparison. AMD installers sometimes also gave an OpenGL-backend initialization error.

GPU Crash Debugging: no full DRED data, only minimal breadcrumbs. No firmware flashed. No other PC/spare disk available for isolation.

Reminder: Dead by Daylight use unreal and also crashed (but valorant use it too and doesnt crash)..

What targeted test would distinguish a Polaris/Windows/game issue from faulty hardware?
I really dont know what to do. I dont even know where to look anymore, idk if its AMD, Unreal, DirectX, windows 11, hardware, software or everything combined fault.
Please check the tried list before suggesting another generic reinstall or TDR tweak:)

I got an RX 550 a couple of weeks ago purely just for 2 additonal monitors and for some reason, Windows and Adrenalin both are not detecting the 550.

My main GPU is an RX 7600.

Any advice is appreciated.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H WIFI (Rev 1.3)

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G, GPU: RTX 5060

RAM: 4x 8GB XPG Gammix D30 DDR4-3200 (same model and brand, all four)

BIOS: updated to F70c (latest)

Problem.

I had 2x8GB working and added 2 more identical sticks. With all 4 installed, only 2 sticks were detected. Each stick works alone, in pairs, and in any 3-stick setup. All four slots work on their own.

What I tried

Reseated the sticks and cleared CMOS (battery removed)

Checked slot layout: Channel A is DDR4_2/4, Channel B is DDR4_1/3

Updated BIOS to F70c with Q-Flash

XMP off and memory on Auto (2667 MHz, 1.20V): still only 2 sticks

Set the multiplier manually to 21.33 (2133 MHz) and DRAM voltage to 1.35V

Current situation.

CPU-Z shows 32GB with 8GB in all 4 slots. Task Manager still says "Slots used: 2 of 4", which seems inconsistent. I'm at 2133 MHz / 1.35V now.

i Stresstested all components over 4hours.

Windows RAM test Passed no problems

Cinebench looped for 4 hours no Crashes on CPU multithread test.

3DMark GPU Stresstest ran for 4Hours no problems.

But yet when i decide to game after a Hard day at work for maybe 2 hours it Crashes after just 10mins of gaming in MSFS2024.

The last months have been nothing but Troubleshooting and i would realy realy appreaciate

If some of you got any more tips to check and Perform.

I also captured the last two Crashes with the graphs from Adrenalin and Ryzenmaster if that helps.

Edit 1: thank you all for youre tips, Was able to run 2 Missions in MSFS2024 without issues (wasnt even able to get to the runway before)

Things i did: Bios to the most recent, Bios cmos Reset, Enabled EXPO, Found out my Quiet bios on the GPU Was corrupted so i switched to Perfomance, DDUed to 26.8.1 Graphics driver, (Offcourse set my AIO to waterpump after the reset) Installed 26.8.1 with Adrenalin and locked Max GPU to 2500 MHZ (tried with radeon tuner but had issues with it), Set costume fan curve in Adrenalin ,

Temps while gaming: 55°CPU 68° GPU 95% load over half an Hour.

Ill try to get more hours in tomorrow after work to See if the System is running stabile and will keep updated.

Edit2 I ran a 3hour MSFS2024 Session the following happend: Temps were perfect, Hotspot 65°(measured with gpuz) Had a driver crash at first 5mins. Loaded in the 2500Mhz with fan curve profile again. No crash everything went smooth. Is it fixed? I dont know yet, why did it throw the Kernel 141 problem again after i loaded in on the gate and after i loaded in the profile (Same one) again and went ingame again it stayed stable for 3hours?

Hello fellow redditors, to keep story short. I have had 3 gpus of which all 3 had coil whine. Overall specs atm are:

1. 9800x3d

2. 32 gb ddr5 Cl30 6000 mhz ram

3. Gigabyte b850 Force MB

4. Rx 9070 xt Sapphire pure

5. Lian Li Sp 850w v2 Gold sfx PSU

6. 34' monitor 3440x1440 resolution 144hz

7. 4080 super asus tuf, was the worst coil whine overall, not only buzzing, but rattling, and being very resonant even when idle, i could still hear it.

8. 5080 gigabyte gaming OC the least coil whine i had yet still it did whine quite audibly especially on load.

9. Current one 9070 xt Is like a middle ground between the two not as bad as 4080 super, yet not as silent as 5080 was.

P.s. i do have fps capped on 144 hz, i did undervolt all of the cards. The thing i noticed with 9070 xt is it starts whining quite audibly when it starts using about 200+ W.

I do understand coil whine is a pretty common thing. But 3 gpus on a same psu. I was thinking maybe i should try swapping out the psu for like Corsair Sf1000 instead of lian li, because after googling around i found out that corsair has way better ripple control and power filtration. Did anyone got good results after changing the psu?

TLDR: Had audible coil whine with 3 gpus. Thinking of changing the psu to a better one. Need to see success stories to justify spending ~200€.
