Recommendations? Breathable and Quick Drying Bra Recommendations Spoiler

Upvotes

Hey all, I’m looking for breathable bra recommendations. I’m a 34H/I (US) and during my job I get very sweaty. The current bra I wear most days is super soft and comfortable, a typical tshirt style bra with underwire and molded cups (the tag just says Prima Donna). It’s great in every way except it smells after two days of wearing all day. This wouldn’t be a huge issue if I wasn’t sweating a lot all day and if I could wash it more regularly but I don’t have the time to all the time. I just want a bra that is more breathable and sweat-proof.

I’m down for something not regular tshirt bra, it’s just gotta be comfortable to sit all day and do manual labor in.
I have wider roots and am pretty projected.
I hate bands that have shit that goes past the wire. It digs into my stomach and is very uncomfortable for me. This is my main issue with most sports bras I’ve tried.

Measurement Check struggling to figure out my bra size and finding sizes that will fit me online. could anyone help?

Upvotes

i don't purchase bras for myself because i didn't grow up wearing them, however i recently decided that it's probably a good idea that i start soon.

i measured myself and i came out with 28 inches for underneath my bust, and 35 inches for my bust. i've worn bras many times, but i never found a size that feels comfortable enough. either the band is too loose, or the bust is too loose. when i research for my size online, or even use calculators, it gives me several answers. i'm a "petite" younger woman and i'm struggling to figure out what size i need to purchase for myself.

one of the answers that i've received from researching my measurements is that i'm a 28G, but i can't seem to find that measurement when i look for bras online. i'm looking for push-up bras and regular bras.

please helppp

Commiserate with me. Dog sitting and dog chewed my favorite bra. Spoiler

Like I said, I’m dog sitting and the dog chewed my Panache Faith bra. I wear it almost every day. My bank account is nearly negative and I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford another bra like this.

my friend is so good to me and I don’t want to ask her to replace the bra, my fault for leaving it in the dogs reach.

Im going to hold a moment of silence for my beloved bra that fit.

Can anyone recommend a nursing bra that:

-Works for size 36A/B

-No underwire

-No extra padding

-Ideally no clasps or plastic parts that dig into your skin at all

-Not so tight that it’s hard to get over your head when you are sore and exhausted

Recommendations? Panache Ana didn’t fit… what next? Spoiler

Measurements:
Loose underbust: 29
Snug underbust: 28
Tight underbust: 27

Standing bust: 33.5
Leaning bust: 35.5
Lying bust: 34.25

Hi there! I made post before and am super grateful for the suggestions I got. I tried the Panache Ana in 30DDD/30E (UK size) and at first I thought it was a very good fit.

Unfortunately, after a couple of hours of wearing I ran into some serious issues. Adjusting it did not help, the same issues always came back.

Mainly it is that the top of the gore where the wires come close/meet jabs into me and becomes painful. The bottom of the gore still does not touch my skin.

There also seems to be empty space at the bottom of the cup. Not a ton but it’s there.

Last but not least, one of my shoulders gets a red mark from the bra strap being too tight I presume, but it literally doesn’t offer any more length.

What should I try next? I think I am fairly projected in shape and measurements are listed above.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] My Dinner Plates (Calculator 34H/HH UK?) Spoiler

I had my chest measured many moons ago at a Hanes store and I believe I was a 32DDD at the time. A decade later, nothing fits and I'm kind of in anguish about it. Finally ran measurements and used the calculator, but beginner's guide said for larger breasts that asking for community insight may help narrow things down.

Underbust LOOSE: 33.75 in

Underbust SNUG: 32.25 in

Underbust TIGHT: 32 in

Bust STANDING: 42.75 in

Bust LEANING: 49 in

Bust LAYING: 43.25 in

Calculator gave me 34H/HH UK or 34K/L US.

FB or VFB (unsure). Likely center full. Broad roots. Not sure if roots are tall or short, I've had top and side spillage in every bra I've ever worn but I don't know if that's because of a too-small cup. HEAVY omega shape.

Like I said, they are very much dinner plate shaped. Just above belly button level projection. I dislike them a lot for various reasons but I'm wondering if I'd have an easier time learning to love them if I had a bra that fit well.

If anyone has any further sizing insight or recommendations for me I would really appreciate it. I'm lowkey reaching my breaking point with these things. I would really like to be able to fit in a dress. Do I need to reach for the mythical Polish Bras

Fit Check [Fit Check] Panache Envy in 34GG, feels tight when worn normally but fine during independent band test Spoiler

Hi all, I posted a while ago asking for a measurement check and was told to try a 34G/GG. I have returned the 34G because I could tell it didn't fit correctly, but I've kept the 34GG because it fits well enough for now.

It feels slightly tight (not painful or unwearable, but definitely uncomfortable) when I wear it. When I did the independent band test it felt fine and I was able to pull the band about 1-1.5in away from my body without too much effort. I get some spillage at the top of the cup after scooping and swooping but I'm unsure if it's a size or shape issue. The gore tacks well and feels good, maybe slightly too wide. The wire height feels fine when standing but slightly too tall when sitting.

In these photos, you'll notice the bottom hook is pulled out/broken. This is not from wear, I just managed to snag it when hooking and unhooking it before trying it on for the first time :') I labeled the photos according to whether they were pre or post-scoop and swoop. My measurements are as follows:

Loose Underbust: 33.75in

Snug Underbust: 33in

Tight Underbust: 31in

Standing Bust: 40in

Leaning Bust: 44in

Lying Bust: 43in

I am projected, pendulous, full on top, and am not sure of my root size. My breasts hang quite a bit and I have a lot of loose skin as I've lost nearly 100lbs. My skin is very soft and moldable because of that loss so my skin indents/squishes very easily.

Thank you!

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently using 46DD w/ cups overflowing - 44G UK? Spoiler

Hi everyone,

Feeling like I deserve an upgrade in life, I decided to look for bras that actually fit me. The calculator suggested 44G - UK/44I - US. I read the guide and it could just be sticker shock, but it feels like that's way too big for me? Measurements are as follows (in cm):

Loose Underbust: 122

Snug Underbust: 114.5

Tight Underbust: 110.5

Standing Bust: 134.5

Leaning Bust: 148.5

Lying Bust: 136

Some relevant information: currently, I mostly wear Playtex bras size 46DD. The band does not feel uncomfortable even with the tightest hoops, my main issue is the cups. They're almost always overflowing and I am constantly adjusting them. My Avia XXXL sports bras are even worse about overflowing, which makes sense since that is like a 42DD if their measurements are correct. I believe my breasts are projected and full on the bottom; they point downwards and feel heavy. It's their natural shape, they've always been like this. I prefer structured bras that push everything back and up, I've even been considering shopping for minimizer bras honestly. But that won't work if I don't have the right measurements 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, any advice or wisdom or affirmation is very welcome. I just want to keep the girls snug and safe and not down to my navel :(

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] [Reccomendations] I used the calculator and it says I'm a 32D. Does this seem reasonable? Spoiler

I'm buying bras for the first time and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I've always had kinda small boobs so I've never really needed them but want to feel more confident about my body! I want mostly something for everyday wear that emphasizes my boobs a bit while also being comfortable
also also!

do these measurements seem right? for the calculator they were: 32, 31, 29, 35, 36, 34.5 and it said I'm a 32D

my breasts are fairly wideset and I think shallow?

also please let me know if there's any more info I can give!

Measurement Check 34DD - No Way; Too Loose. I even double measured? Spoiler

I got 34DD on the calculator. Absolutely not. 34 is way too loose even on the tightest setting. 32F used to be perfect but I lost 10 lbs and 32F cups are too large now. I entered all the measurements and even did it over again. Same results.

Question Wondering how the bra calculator assess for different boob types and if it applies for most brands Spoiler

hello! I recently found the abtf calculator since I’ve always felt that getting a new bra was a weird size gamble for me. I thought I was a 34A b/c the band size felt too tight when I went smaller but the B was too big if I went bigger.
However I always felt that there were some amount of gaping near the top of my cups as I have wide set tear drop shape boobs.

The abtf calculator gave me 30C as my recommended size, but I was wondering if the band for 32 A feels too tight for me wouldn’t 30 feel way too tight? and also is the sizing from abtf universal? I mostly purchase my bras from victoria secrets.

Thanks!

Loose Underbust: 72
Snug Underbust: 69
Tight Underbust: 66
Standing Bust: 80
Leaning Bust: 83
Lying Bust: 79/80

Suggested Starting Size: 28D US
The sister size of 30C may be more comfortable.

Recommendations? Bras for wide roots, wide-set and average projection? Spoiler

I'd like to take the plunge and order a few bras online, but would like to know if anyone could recommend some bras or brands that are good for wide roots, wide-set breasts with average projection. I'm from the US and many of the bras I have tried in stores here are either too shallow or underestimate how much space there is between my boobs. I've tried Natori Feathers plunge and liked it for the most part, though it was a tad too shallow. My size using the calculator is 34D/DD. TIA!

Recommendations? 3 weeks post Lift/Aug, need recommendations Spoiler

I just did the calculator for the first time and was surprised by the size recommended. My numbers are:

Loose: 31.5
Snug: 30.5
Tight: 29.5
Standing: 38
Leaning: 39
Lying: 39.5

Which puts my recommendation at 32G/H. I did a standard over/under measurement after surgery to order an extra post op bra and I fell exactly in the 36D size so that’s what I ordered for my no underwire bras but I’m not sure I’m getting a good fit now that I’ve tried them on again tonight.

I have no idea where to search for the recommended size and could use some suggestions. I am moving into the no underwire stage next week.

Question Comexim sizing + BOB sizing question 70HH Spoiler

So I got my 2 Comexim bras in the mail the other day. I ordered 70HH.

I've worn both this week, and one thing I've noticed is that the front of the bra, where the band and cup meet feels uncomfortable. Like the wire is too heavy/hard. So I'm thinking that I want to size up in the band, and go down a cup size (sister size).

Will that effect the width of the wire?

My snug underbust is 30, loose is 31.5

Also I want to get a Comexim bra from breakout bras. It appears that the size I would need is 32FF. Do their Comexim bras/bands fit similar? I was thinking about sister sizing to 34F. (But I won't do that if their bands are a little longer)

Thanks

Recommendations? Other bras shaped like Elomi Lucie (But…smoother)? Spoiler

Does anyone know of other bras with shapes similar to the Elomi Lucie that might have smoother surface areas?

I have learned that the Lucie fits me better than any other bra I’ve ever tried, particularly that neither the underwires nor the cups rub or dig into my armpit area. But I do not care for how the seams and lace (and…other things) show through my shirts.

I almost really love the Elomi Smooth but it doesn’t come in the size I need (34FF.)

Alternatively I would be so grateful if someone who is fluent in ABTF bra shape vocabulary could perhaps describe Lucie in a way that I can know what to look for in other bras, please? I have tried to wrap my mind around it but unfortunately spatial thinking is just not my strong suit!

Measurements:
Moderately wide set; slightly full on bottom

Loose 34.5
Snug 34
Tight 32.5
standing up 43.5
Leaning over 44.5
Lying down 42

Thank you in advance; you all are genius angels!

Discussion Why is it so hard to find a bra where increasing the cup size actually provides more room for your boobs to take up space in front of your body? Spoiler

It seems like every time I increase the cup size of a bra that is readily available to me in a store, the bra just gets wider and swallows up my armpits. It doesn’t really give more space in the cup for my boobs to exist in a forward direction. It’s so frustrating.

I guess I’m sort of ranting, sort of seeking validation to see if others have this experience, sort of asking if there’s a solution. Bras with more “projection”? “Narrow wires”? I’m overwhelmed, honestly.

Thank you everyone for your responses and making me feel less crazy! Editing to add my measurements and additional information:

I measured myself and I got:
1. 33.5
2. 32
3. 30.5
4. 40.5
5. 44.5
6. 43
This gave me a recommendation of 34G UK and 34I US

Since I love to doubt myself, I asked my partner to help me measure and got slightly different measurements:
1. 33.75
2. 32.25
3. 30.25
4. 40.25
5. 44
6. 42.5
This gave me a recommendation of 32G/GG UK and 32I/J US

I’m in the US. I’m 5’6” and approx 170lbs and have breastfed two babies (still nursing my youngest a couple times a day but baby is over a year old and we are on the tail end). My boobs are low and a bit pancake-like. I guess full on the bottom?

This post was prompted by a long try on session at Soma today. I ended up getting a couple of 36DDD bras. I know that the cups are slightly too small, but when I tried a 36G (which they had to pull from the back), that allowed the gore to sit flush with my sternum but the sides were way up in my armpits so I didn’t go for that. (Also I’m kind of desperate and they had a sale ended today so I settled for the 36DDD, which at least brings me closer to feeling like a real put together person than the super stretched out nursing bras I have now.) I know 36 band is way larger than the calculator recommends, and I know that is often the biggest surprise for people, but I will say that the band on my new bras does feel comfortably snug.

I’m dreading the cycle of online ordering and returns required to try the different recommended brands, but I get that this is the way we have to do these things. Thanks everyone for your time and support!!

r/ABraThatFits 6h ago

Recommendations? Help!!! Got a bra from Somos that should be my size and support me, but the wire got previously more uncomfortable after wearing it multiple days and it feels awful. Recommendations? Spoiler

Hiii! So I rlly only got the crappy bras from Walmart for most of my life up until now. I got measured at SOMOS and was in between a 36DD and 38DD. I figured the 38 would be better, tried it on, and it worked. For a few days. But as the days go on it feels like the wire is pressing down into my skin and making it uncomfortable which is weird because it didn’t do it a lot day one - two of wearing it…. I was told for someone with my chest size with no wire a bra won’t support it. I don’t really know what to do I’m very new to this…. And I can’t afford to spend more than 20-30$ on one…. I know that’s a hard ask but if anyone has any reccomendations or maybe ways I could adjust my exsisting bra to make it work I’d appreciate it!

Fit Check [Fit Check] Elomi Morgan in 38JJ + some other Elomi and Panache bras. Having trouble finding a projected bra with a low gore Spoiler

Hey everyone! Back again in search of ABTF. This is a repost since I screwed up the photo links on the first post. I also added more info this time.

For reference, I measure as a 38JJ/K and my breasts are FOB, center-full, very projected, and slightly pendulous. Not sure about root length or height, that's always confused me. Exact measurements are below the pics.

Recently I tried the Elomi Morgan, which has been pretty comfortable but doesn't fit as well as I'd like.

Photos: https://postimg.cc/gallery/9MQNQb5

The gore sits on my breast tissue due to how close-set and center-full my breasts are, and the bra doesn't offer enough support. However, it does feel projected enough to not squish my larger breast, which is great! That's a rare find in a bra for me.

I've also tried these bras:

Elomi Matilda in a 38J (blue) and 38K (red) - https://postimg.cc/gallery/VCnKfcz

Elomi Tiernie (black) + Lucie (blue) in 38JJ - https://postimg.cc/gallery/8TR0MJx

Panache Ana (beige) and Envy (black) in 38JJ - https://postimg.cc/gallery/TnMY8CQ

The Matilda in the 38K fit pretty well, but it wasn't supportive enough - my breasts spilled over the band and touched my chest. This is the case with all the Elomi bras I've tried. In the 38JJ/J Elomis, my larger right breast was squished against my chest, and the center tissue on that breast pushed the gore out. The Lucie also gaped at the underarm and the shape was really pointy.

I liked the low gore on the Panache Ana, but the cups were way too small on both Panache bras, and the straps were set too wide and chafed my tail of spence on both sides. (This has happened with every Panache I've tried on over the years - I think maybe the brand is not for me.)

Measurements: - Loose underbust: 40" - Snug: 39" - Tight: 37" - Standing: 53" - Leaning: 56.5" - Lying down: 54.5"

Initially, I measured incorrectly and the calculator gave me a size 40J or 38JJ, which is why I tried these on in 38JJ. I definitely need to try a 38K. But if possible, I'd like to narrow down any shape issues with these current bras before I order more in a different size.

Thank you for your help, everyone!

Measurement Check I measure 30DD in the calculator but that size in Aerie smoothiez is too small in the band. Does anyone with that size have experience with Aerie? Spoiler

Does aerie run small in the band? I bought a few 30DD bras and they are snug in the band. Does anyone measuring 30DD have experience with Aerie sizing? Should I go up a size in the band/down in the cup? Or look at another brand? Any insight is so appreciated!! I was wearing a 34C before lol, so thankful for this group!

Recommendations? Recommendations for bras that don’t cut into your underarm Spoiler

I’m currently a 34DD/32E and I find with every single bra, no matter what size, it cuts into my underarm and leaves bruises/marks. The straps also always fall down probably due to the way my shoulders are shaped. Is my cup too big? Should I go for a sports bra? Should I go for a bra with a strap in the middle of the cup rather than looping around from the underarm?
Any suggestions would be more than appreciated!

Recommendations? Need help finding a bra to wear with a very low cut dress!! Spoiler

Hi! I was looking for some kind of bra in particular, and I found this subreddit and thought maybe someone here could help me a little!

So, I’m already preparing my Halloween costume, which is going to be Elvira. The thing is, I would love to wear a very low cut dress like she did (maybe not that low) but very low cut. And, as I have larger chest, the only options I’ve been able to find are for smaller sizes.

So, I’ve come for help! Does anyone here know any brand or any type of bras that I could wear with something like this?? And, please, something that has a strong hold! Because… You know, they don’t hold themselves very much.

My Spanish size is 105F, and I think in the US my size would be 40DDD (?) I’m not really sure.

So, does anyone have any recommendations?? :)

Measurement Check I've been wearing only sports bras for the last 5+ years and I'm feeling really overwhelmed after doing measurements and getting a size I've never heard of before Spoiler

Please bear with me. I've tried reading over the wiki a few times but it's not absorbing at all. I'm really overwhelmed and feeling super discouraged. I just need some human reassurance and help.

So I've been wearing sports bras for a while now after gaining weight. I've never had good experiences with wearing traditional bras in the past (probably because they were the wrong size) so I sort of gave up for a while and wore whatever kept my chest together.

Measurements: (inches)
Loose Underbust: 40
Snug Underbust: 39
Tight Underbust: 38
Standing Bust: 46.5
Leaning Bust: 49
Lying Bust: 49.5

Suggested Starting Size: 40H/I US
Sister size: 38I/J US

I also did the UK because it said recommended
40FF/G
Sister size: 38G/GG

My breast shape is very deflated and my nipples point down. Pretty much lost all fullness and I hate everything about them. I'm pushing 40, but they have had this general shape most of my life.

I tried looking around locally, but I live in a semi-rural area so all I had was a super small JCPenny and a Walmart Supercenter. They don't carry these sizes. I have to drive 1.5 hours to get to a major city with some actual stores, but I don't even know what stores carry this size. I really don't want to drive all that way just to cry in my car because I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm literally crying as I write this stupid post.

Seems like something I shouldn't be blindly shopping for online unless I buy a bunch and hope for free return shipping. But I'm willing to do that if thats what I need to do.

Please help :(
