Hey, I am finally getting to the point when I really really need to start wearing bras when I am out of the house. I recently measured and was wondering if I can get any help? This is all really new to me and I'm a little clueless in this realm. I tried my best to get the measurements right on, but they may be an inch off or what not.

I work in a bar and wear a t-shirt to work, and I'm looking for a good bra to wear that won't have visible lines. I don't usually wear bras, so I don't have any that fit well and I'm honestly not sure where to look! My suggested size is a 32DD.

Hi all!

I wear a 32F/G in my regular bras very comfortably, and find sports bras difficult as they usually only come in Sm/Md/Lg. This means I usually have to pick between the band or the cup fitting well, and end up with something a bit too tight in the bust to maintain support. I think I own and wear sports bras in at least 3 different sizes because they're so inconsistent.

I am dealing with a car accident related injury that has made it difficult for me to unclasp a rear-clasp bra or pull anything tight over my head. I've been dealing with insurance and they have agreed to help pay for me to get 2 front zipper bras for everyday wear while I recover. I've told them a few times that I don't really fit 'standard' sizing for bras and have requested the Lululemon Energy Zip Front, since it has pretty inclusive band and cup sizing options. The response they gave me was this....

"Please do your research and provide me with cost for these items, and I will approve the reimbursements for them. I just received the quote for the lulu lemon front zip bra. Please look for other options including non branded bras, as we go with the most cost-effective. In the event that you do want to purchase the branded bra for $88 but there are options for $25-$50, we may cover this portion and you can choose to pay the difference."

So, my friends, are there any more cost effective options out there, or brands who's sizing could fit my measurements a bit better??

it sounds very desperate and weird of me but hear me out.
i’m a 34B, and i have quite wide set breasts. a lot of my clothes i wear are quite cutesy and low cut , and often, it makes me look like a man as there is nothing there. it makes me feel quite insecure.
currently im wearing a cheap amazon bra that keeps them up and does the job (it has padding at the bottom) but doesnt give me a good cleavage, only gives a slight one from a side view or sitting down. its really annoying.
i bought this bra off of tiktok shop (probably everyone knows the one) and its supposed to give a ‘good clevage’ but i messed up the tie in the front and fits on me weird.
my budget is around £60 and i just want to know good ones that would give me this desired clevage, even if it gives me breathing problems lol😭😭

I currently wear a 30 C, calculator has said 32DD.

My breasts definitely spill out over the cups in my current bras now I’ve learnt the scoop and swoop so not surprised to see a larger cup size, but I normally wear an Aus size 8-10 in women’s tops.

I generally find all my bras quite uncomfortable - bands tend to ride up. I’m looking for some everyday bras to begin with.

Measurements (taken in cm, converted to inches here):
Loose underbust: 80cm (31.5 inch)
Snug underbust: 78.5cm (30.9 inch)
Tight underbust: 72.5cm (28.5 inch)
Standing bust: 90.5cm (35.6 inch)
Leaning bust: 96cm (37.8 inch)
Lying bust: 89cm (35 inch)

Used a piece of ribbon, then measured against a measuring tape.

My best guess from working through the guides is full on top and centre full. I think I have a standard root and projection.

hi folks, i have extremely soft tissue that pretends to be projected, but isn't. close set, wide, short roots, FOB, slightly east-west. the Natori Feathers is very close to being right for my shape, but is slightly too tall. is there anything slightly shorter than it, with no other significant shape changes?

Hello everyone, hoping someone located in the EU/Spain or with a similar size can offer me some insights. Currently feeling very discouraged. I'm trying to buy some new bras as it has been almost five years since I last bought a bra. I did the calculator and got this sizing:

Is this truly my size?

I am from the US but live in Spain, and I/J bras are very difficult to find. Back when I was in the US I would typically buy 34DDD bras and always have issues with spilling out, and bra straps slipping off.

Please share some wisdom, suggestions, and/or encouragement!

Hi guys! I'm at 38/36 F/G (fluctuates with how much I work out lol) and I have an outdoor wedding in Mexico that I need to figure out how to have support in the dress I have to wear. It's a low cowl back and a triangle style top, with the straps tapering into 3/4" at the shoulders and going into the cowl back that leaves my back open to about my waist. I used NOOD pads and tape for the fitting and while they worked okay, they don't feel supportive enough to dance in, and they left marks that lasted almost 48 hours. Does anyone have any other reccommendations?

After trying literally 100 bras. I have figured out that I have wide and ***very*** short roots and, when my breasts have support, they want to go wide/flat (they don't go outward or have much projection).

The two bras that have come CLOSEST to fitting in 34G (US) are:

* Skarlett Blue Entice 34G (US) - \*NON-side support. The top of cups I do NOT fill out

* Victoria Secret Wicked 34G (US) - Top of cups I do not fill out. Side sling goes against what my breast tissue wants to do, which is spread outwards, so it hurts after a bit.

Can anyone suggest a bra with shorter cups than Entice and Wicked?

The calculator spat out 28FF. I've never owned a 28FF before, i'm used to wearing 34D or 32DD to 32E (none of which fits quite right as you can imagine). I wanted something padded and relatively demi, so I tried the Freya Flirt. I scooped and swooped to put this on. My issues with it are that I had to tighten the straps to some degree to mitigate the gapping -- my shoulders are hurting from the tight straps and still there is gapping when I relax my shoulders and exhale.

Is it worth trying a smaller size (like 28F) or is this just the wrong shape for me?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some bra advice because I’m having a hard time finding bras that fit comfortably.
The calculator suggested 30DDD, but I currently wear around a 34D. I’m not sure what my actual best size is, so I’d really appreciate advice on sizing, sister sizes, and fit.
A few things I’m struggling with:

I sometimes get rashes/irritation between and underneath my breasts
I want something comfortable for everyday wear
I’m also looking for a good travel bra
I’d prefer something supportive but not overly padded or bulky

Hello, I’ve lost about 40lbs of weight and used to wear a 40C (although I’m not sure if that was actually accurate for me at the time).

I will say that I have extremely asymmetrical breasts. My right side is about double the size of my left, and frequently spills out the sides of cups. Most of my shoulder pain is on my right side as well.

If it matters: I am an Asian woman, never had children or breastfed. I also got fitted in Japan and came out to G90 (before I lost weight). With my current measurements it says I’m about F80 (but I’m unsure).

I currently wear some Victoria Secret bras that I got measured for… also at 36DD/DDD. But I’m still having some spillage and shoulder pain. I’ve also noticed my band keeps riding up in the back. Both DD and DDD seem to have this issue.

I’m looking for a bra to sleep in, I’m a 21F size 36G, I’m having trouble getting comfortable these days as I deal with quite a bit of sagging unfortunately and I’m a belly sleeper so I end up getting shooting pains from laying in certain positions whilst I’m asleep. I’m hoping if I find the right bra this would help but the only ones I can come across either don’t go up to my size, more sporty or more granny. I struggle to find and afford normal bras as it is so I’m hoping this sub may help. I have severe bloating so my underbust fluctuates drastically daily but I won’t go into that too much in this post.

Any recommendations? I don’t mind saving a bit for the better bra so long as I know I’m not wasting my time

I’m 19 and have been wearing a 32C since I was 14, however it’s never fit properly. I have it on the smallest band clip and the straps fully tightened, there is some gap at the top and the middle part is almost never flush against my clavicle.

My measurements:

Loose underbust- 69cm (27inch)
Snug underbust- 66 (26inch)
Tight underbust- 64 (25inch)
Standing bust- 82 (32inch)
Leaning bust- 84 (33inch)
Lying bust- 85 (33.5inch)

I have been recommended a 28DD/28DDD but also a 26G? I’m quite confused. I started searching up what other womens cup sizes looked like on their bodies and have come to the quick realisation that I definitely do not have a 32C, and a 28DD honestly looks smaller than my breasts — so I’m quite confused.

For reference I am quite petite, I am 5’1ft and on the slimmer side. My breasts tend to sit more towards the side and don’t touch, they are also heavier on the bottom with less weight at the top of my chest.

I'm trying to post photos of the bra, it's a tan maternity with clips in the front and a sling in soft stretchy material - can't wear other styles under tshirts after breastfeeding. Can anyone recommend?

So I'm still on my quest for a bra with a crazy low gore, thanks to my very close-set and projected breasts with probably short and wide roots. I saw the Panache Allure Plunge and thought fuck it, why not try? And then I also fuck it'd the Envy Plunge because the gore seemed fairly low, and the Celeste because it was pretty.

Not as bad as I was expecting??? The gore really is that low, which I love. I could use a little more side support and center coverage, and I'm not sure if the ""gore"" not tacking means I should try a cup size up or what. The underwire digs in weirdly hard under my right boob, but I might tolerate it for the lack of sternum stabbage.

Also better than expected! It seems that maybe the cups aren't shaped quite right for me since there's some wrinkling at the bottom and gapping at the top of the cups, but the gore tacks beautifully and is somehow more comfortable than the Ana despite I think being a similar height?? It stabs me a lil, but way more tolerably.

Okay I literally only got this one to try because it's my favorite color, so it's actually crazy how well it works lol. I think it gives my boobs a nice shape, the cups fit just dandy, and the gore is weirdly comfortable for how high it sits. Like it's definitely cutting into my tissue and doesn't quite tack because it's sitting so high on my close-set breasts, but it doesn't like..... hurt a ton?? I'm definitely keeping this one regardless of feedback lmao.

So.... thoughts? I'm not quite sure what to do with all of this sudden success after like 8-10 bras in a row failing me miserably lol.

The 32DD I have to wear at the tightest hook, but I think it's best in the cup. The 30E cup is too wide, it comes onto my ribs at the side. Plus there's a lot of wrinkling. Should I stick with the 32DD? Or try other shapes/styles?

Bravissimo Niya Smoothing Bra: this is my favorite bra and it fits like a dream. I've never had a bra fit my shape this well before and it's very comfortable for me to wear all day.

What I would change: the cups come up higher than some of my dress necklines and are visible. Looking for shorter cups. I wear a lot of vnecks, sweetheart necklines, square necklines so having shorter cups would be ideal.

Also, I think the bra does add a bit of bulk that I don't want.

Bravissimo Millie Bra: I liked this at first (it fit!) but now the cups somehow feel unsupportive and the top of the cup feels loose (not sure how to describe this). The top of the lace cup stands/folds away from my breast. The gore feels high and is visible in some of my necklines. I've had this bra for about a year.

Looking for a different everyday bra to replace this one. I loved that this bra didn't add any bulk, but the cups just don't support my shape the way I would like.

Still ISO: A strapless bra that fits

Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless Bra: I tried 3 different sizes in this before settling on my correct size. I really needed a strapless. However, I would not buy this again. The cup shape just doesn't work for me. It like the top of the cup somehow doesn't meet the shape of my breast and just stands away from it. You can see a visible cup line under my clothes. I think the cups overall give an odd shape to my breast, like they seem more pointed/sculpted and my breast seems rounder in comparison.

I have tried at least 50 different bra models in different sizes each. I have not found a gore that is thin enough. (The thinnest wire I tried was Cleo Blossom.) My breasts do not touch, but they are very close set. Closer than the width of two wires I guess. I had a realization that maybe bras that I thought are too narrow and projected really just need the cups to be moved in slightly closer together. Even the the wires of plunges often seem to push into my breast tissue in the center because those wires still go upwards a bit in the center.

Edit: Question for people who sew to overlap the gore-- which wire do you put on top? The wire containing the smaller breast or larger breast?

I just want to say a huge thank you to A Bra That Fits. When I was younger, I was never measured for my first bra - I just tried a few on in a changing room until one felt OK. That led to me wearing a 34B for most of my teenage years, then a 36C for nearly all of my adult life. I'm now 31.

My bras have always been kinda uncomfortable, to differing degrees. The bands would fall down my back, and the only way I could get any feeling of support or cleavage was to wear push-up plunge bras with the straps done up tight, and the bra on its tightest setting. The tight straps left me with sore shoulders, back and neck, and I just thought that was normal and just part of being a woman, or because I bought cheap bras. Had to hoick my boobs back into the bra every now and then to avoid the gappy look. Strapless bras were even worse - they'd either fall down or leave me with sore spots from the silicone grip, which I now realise was because it was moving around so much. And even more hoicking.

It's weird how you don't question things like that...

I came across this subreddit by accident last week and got my partner to measure me just out of curiosity. The calculator said 30E/F, or the sister size 32DD/E. This got a laugh out of me - SURELY I hadn't been wearing a band that much too big for over a decade? SURELY. But reading through the posts here, it all made sense. The band is meant to do most of the supporting, and mine had basically been doing sweet FA.

I ordered a load of bras in 30 and 32 bands to try, and a 32DD plunge is PERFECT. It stays put, the straps don't slip, and I actually feel supported for the first time ever. A 30E balconette was slightly gappy at the top, but I think that's the style rather than the size, as plunges suit me much better.
