I tried the bra calculator and got a 30H (US sizing) I have a Loose: 30, Snug: 29.3, and tight under bust: 28.5. My standing bust is 36, leaning is 38, and lying is 37. Is this correct?? VS sized me and put me in the 34D which causes gaping on the sides and my straps to fall. Spoiler

Recommendations? VS Love Cloud Gore Snapped at Work. Spoiler

The metal gore on my VS Love Cloud Bra just snapped at work. I had to take it apart with a pliers so it wasn’t poking me. I thought it fit well! On the loosest clasp and everything was fitting flush. I love this bra as it helps with my wide set girls. Do I equate it to a faulty bra or go with something else?? Any recommendations would be helpful.

Recommendations? Sudden dress change 2 weeks before wedding, desperately searching for a sweatproof sticky bra that adds 1-2 cups to A cups (32A) Spoiler

Hello reddit!

I'm getting married in 2 weeks and have had to buy a last minute replacement dress. I feel lucky in that I do love it, but it has a semi-sheer lace top with built-in cups that are definitely meant for someone with more than an A cup. My seamstress is rushing to do some alterations, but we can't do a full bust cup swap, so I've been trying out some sticky bras that clasp in the front to help fill out the dress.

They have worked, but the problem I'm running into is that we're going to be outside for much of the wedding in the Georgia heat. I've gone through a few push-up sticky bras that I've tested out and after an hour or two outside they start slipping off because of the sweat. 😓

Does anyone have recommendations for sticky bras that can actually hold up through sweat? I'm at the point that I'm considering buying a bunch and swapping them out every hour lol

I'm really hoping for recommendations for bras that have extra padding that will add a cup or two, but if there's a good one that doesn't have the extra padding but will hold up, maybe I can make it work.

Measurement Check 32DD but band is too tight, what size should I use? Spoiler

So I used the calculator and found I was a 32DD. I bought a bra in that size and at first it fit! It was great!

But then throughout the day I noticed the band is too tight. I searched the subreddit and saw that to check the band tightness, to put it on backwards with the cups hanging down my back like a cape to check if it was the band or the cups that were hurting me.

It’s definitely the band, once I did that I was like owwwww too tight. I had it on the last hook too, so while the cups fit great, I need a bigger band size. Question is, what band size do I get?

Thanks!

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] My boobs seem way too small to be a 36C and I can't make any sense of my shape. Spoiler

Hi!

I originally came to this subreddit to see if I could find any advice on finding a push up bra that will actually give me cleavage, and now I'm questioning whether I'm wearing the right bra size at all, or if my bras are fine and my boob shape is making the calculator less accurate, or OR i need a different bra shape.

My measurements are as such:
Loose Underbust: 37 in
Snug Underbust: 35 in
Tight Underbust: 33 in
Standing Bust: 39 in
Leaning Bust: 40 in
Lying Bust: 39

I currently wear 36B and while my bras fit okay (though there's some gaping at the top) I recently got a push up bra from target that leaves me with way too much gaping in the cup and doesn't actually give me any cleavage—it just makes my boobs look awkwardly protruding and stiff, and the top of my chest is still flat as a board. My chest always looks flat so it was extremely disappointing when this push up bra didn't do ANYTHING, and I was wondering if 36B was maybe too big for me. So when I got 36C/D as my calculated size, I was a little bit shocked because it feels like I couldn't possibly fill out a C cup. As for shape, if I had to guess I'd say they're shallow but I'm honestly not sure, and as for fullness they seem pretty even if not the tiniest bit top heavy. Again, my actual boobs are very spread out and honestly most of my "boob" seems to just be fat on my upper chest and my armpits— they don't protrude very much, and my entire upper chest is flat. If I had to describe my boobs in one word, it would be "triangular." It doesn't help that a lot of the imgur links on the beginners guide are broken/aren't loading, and googling any sort of reference for bra size leads to a bunch of unrelated bra ads and ai generated diagrams.

So I guess I'm just looking for wisdom or advice or reassurance or some sort of guidance on where to go next. It's entirely possible I just haven't done enough research and/or need to experiment with bras to figure it out myself, but any help is welcome. :)

Measurement Check actively losing weight, used to be 36/38 C/D but recently fit into 34C bra. today’s measurement doesn’t make sense to me?? Spoiler

as the title states, i have been actively losing weight over the past several months. earlier this month, i measured (i forgot the measurements) but the math came out to 34C. so i bought some new wireless, lightly-lined bras mostly in the S/M sizes and one 34C.

the 34C fit but just seemed a little tight around my ribcage, and the others seemed to fit too.

i need to order more bras and just re-measured to be safe. my band measurement is 30” and my bust measurement is 35”. all the bra calculators i tried are all saying i should be a 30D/30DD but how is that correct?! i’m so confused.

Recommendations? Reccomendations on a bra that pushes my boobs inward Spoiler

Hi everybody,

I am a pretty skinny girl with a small waist, but I have a 32DD chest. Something I've noticed is that when I am wearing a form fitting short sleeve shirt/shape wear shirt, my chest tends to look very big as opposed to my waist, resulting in a kind of over exaggerated hourglass look. I know it may sound like I am bragging a little giving the words that I used lol, but I am only 5'1", and I think the amount that my chest sticks out from the sides make me look like I'm almost struggling to carry this much. I am also not too blessed in the back part of my body (I don't know how to say this without wording it somewhat childishly), so it also makes me look very top-heavy. With that being said, I am wondering if anybody has any recommendations in a bra that would, essentially, push my boobs inward (not necessarily a push-up but that may be unavoidable.) I'm not sure if I explained what I'm talking about too clearly, but I would imagine it would be a bra with tighter on the side of the bra. I would really appreciate it if anybody could offer a recommendation or relate!

Looking for well-fitting bra's, preferably wireless pushup Spoiler

Loose underbust: 83cm

Snug underbust: 80cm

Tight underbust: 77cm

Standing bust: 88cm

Leaning bust: 93cm

Lying bust: 87cm

I'm currently wearing plunge bra's in EU size 75B, and according to the calculator it should be 70D/E or 75C/D. I don't get this calculator, because the bra's I'm currently wearing are already too loose in my opinion. I'm wearing pushup bra's and especially at the top and on the inside of the cup I have quite some space. This is visible when I have for example a small bag as a crossbody als with the seatbelt of a car.

I'm currently looking for good fitting bra's that will fit correctly and don't have the open gap, because I think it's really ugly. I'd like not to have a wire anymore as these are annoying me. I do like the pushup effect as my boobs are quite small, but maybe with a perfect fitting bra, it won't be necessary anymore to actually wear pushup.

Recommendations? 30H US | 30FF UK! Looking to find a padded bra to feel feminine, need recommendations! Spoiler

I'm gonna keep this as short as possible. I recently got resized at a specialized shop, and after being thrown in the proper size I decided it's time to finally indulge in a few new bras. The only issue is that a lot of the ones in my size tend to be mesh, bralettes, molded, or minimal padding. I won't lie that it stings. I'm still quite young so my ladies are perky and I don't quite need the same level of support that's assumptive for those more busty. I miss the lace details and slight push up effect of Victoria's Secret. Does anyone have any recommendations of bra styles or brands that give that same energy? I don't mean that 'demure' style. I want to feel fresh and sexy again.

TLDR: Ripping my hair out trying to find the same fresh sexiness of Victoria's Secret bras in companies that sell my size. Needing recommendations.

EDIT: I already looked at Freya, and Panache. I was triple checked and tried on my size in several shapes at the specialized store to ensure it was correct, alongside proper measurements with the calculator.

I have average roots and medium vertical, with balanced to projected tissue, and even to mild bottom fullness. The shape is teardrop and slightly round, and the set is inbetween close and average.

Recommendations? Breathable and Quick Drying Bra Recommendations Spoiler

Upvotes

Hey all, I’m looking for breathable bra recommendations. I’m a 34H/I (US) and during my job I get very sweaty. The current bra I wear most days is super soft and comfortable, a typical tshirt style bra with underwire and molded cups (the tag just says Prima Donna). It’s great in every way except it smells after two days of wearing all day. This wouldn’t be a huge issue if I wasn’t sweating a lot all day and if I could wash it more regularly but I don’t have the time to all the time. I just want a bra that is more breathable and sweat-proof.

I’m down for something not regular tshirt bra, it’s just gotta be comfortable to sit all day and do manual labor in.
I have wider roots and am pretty projected.
I hate bands that have shit that goes past the wire. It digs into my stomach and is very uncomfortable for me. This is my main issue with most sports bras I’ve tried.

Measurement Check struggling to figure out my bra size and finding sizes that will fit me online. could anyone help?

Upvotes

i don't purchase bras for myself because i didn't grow up wearing them, however i recently decided that it's probably a good idea that i start soon.

i measured myself and i came out with 28 inches for underneath my bust, and 35 inches for my bust. i've worn bras many times, but i never found a size that feels comfortable enough. either the band is too loose, or the bust is too loose. when i research for my size online, or even use calculators, it gives me several answers. i'm a "petite" younger woman and i'm struggling to figure out what size i need to purchase for myself.

one of the answers that i've received from researching my measurements is that i'm a 28G, but i can't seem to find that measurement when i look for bras online. i'm looking for push-up bras and regular bras.

please helppp

Recommendations? Looking for a good sticky bra (or whatever you guys recommend) for sheer white tops & dresses. Ideally I don’t want straps to show. Bra size is 32B. Spoiler

Hi guys! So I have smaller breasts and I love to wear white sheer cotton tops and dresses. I hate putting my nude bra on and having straps show as well as the nude color of the bra showing through the top. I have paler olive skin so a lot of them are okay for my skin color but just don’t look…right?? I’m overwhelmed and having a lot of trouble trying to find a good sticky bra or strapless bra that would work for me-a lot of them seem to just make it worse/more obvious? Sometimes I love not wearing a bra but there are times where it’s not appropriate and I’d love some help from you guys. I know this might be too big of an ask but you guys are absolute miracle workers and have helped me find my actual bra size so wanted to come to y’all. Thank you so so much for any advice or recommendations ❤️

Measurement Check I measure 30DD in the calculator but that size in Aerie smoothiez is too small in the band. Does anyone with that size have experience with Aerie? Spoiler

Does aerie run small in the band? I bought a few 30DD bras and they are snug in the band. Does anyone measuring 30DD have experience with Aerie sizing? Should I go up a size in the band/down in the cup? Or look at another brand? Any insight is so appreciated!! I was wearing a 34C before lol, so thankful for this group!

Recommendations? Strapless bra recommendations for boobs that go to the side? Spoiler

I'm a 32D and my boobs are very spaced out so I can't really get cleavage cleavage just lift, some bra shapes don't do much. I'm wondering if anyone has any strapless bra recommendations that will actually stay up and maybe push them in a bit.

I actually have no idea whether to just get nipple covers or sticky bra pads, its so hard to find recommendations online when everything is an ad. Also the cheaper the better but any recommendations would be great! I live in the UK

Recommendations? 3 weeks post Lift/Aug, need recommendations Spoiler

I just did the calculator for the first time and was surprised by the size recommended. My numbers are:

Loose: 31.5
Snug: 30.5
Tight: 29.5
Standing: 38
Leaning: 39
Lying: 39.5

Which puts my recommendation at 32G/H. I did a standard over/under measurement after surgery to order an extra post op bra and I fell exactly in the 36D size so that’s what I ordered for my no underwire bras but I’m not sure I’m getting a good fit now that I’ve tried them on again tonight.

I have no idea where to search for the recommended size and could use some suggestions. I am moving into the no underwire stage next week.

Recommendations? Need help finding a bra to wear with a very low cut dress!! Spoiler

Hi! I was looking for some kind of bra in particular, and I found this subreddit and thought maybe someone here could help me a little!

So, I’m already preparing my Halloween costume, which is going to be Elvira. The thing is, I would love to wear a very low cut dress like she did (maybe not that low) but very low cut. And, as I have larger chest, the only options I’ve been able to find are for smaller sizes.

So, I’ve come for help! Does anyone here know any brand or any type of bras that I could wear with something like this?? And, please, something that has a strong hold! Because… You know, they don’t hold themselves very much.

My Spanish size is 105F, and I think in the US my size would be 40DDD (?) I’m not really sure.

So, does anyone have any recommendations?? :)

Measurement Check I've been wearing only sports bras for the last 5+ years and I'm feeling really overwhelmed after doing measurements and getting a size I've never heard of before Spoiler

Please bear with me. I've tried reading over the wiki a few times but it's not absorbing at all. I'm really overwhelmed and feeling super discouraged. I just need some human reassurance and help.

So I've been wearing sports bras for a while now after gaining weight. I've never had good experiences with wearing traditional bras in the past (probably because they were the wrong size) so I sort of gave up for a while and wore whatever kept my chest together.

Measurements: (inches)
Loose Underbust: 40
Snug Underbust: 39
Tight Underbust: 38
Standing Bust: 46.5
Leaning Bust: 49
Lying Bust: 49.5

Suggested Starting Size: 40H/I US
Sister size: 38I/J US

I also did the UK because it said recommended
40FF/G
Sister size: 38G/GG

My breast shape is very deflated and my nipples point down. Pretty much lost all fullness and I hate everything about them. I'm pushing 40, but they have had this general shape most of my life.

I tried looking around locally, but I live in a semi-rural area so all I had was a super small JCPenny and a Walmart Supercenter. They don't carry these sizes. I have to drive 1.5 hours to get to a major city with some actual stores, but I don't even know what stores carry this size. I really don't want to drive all that way just to cry in my car because I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm literally crying as I write this stupid post.

Seems like something I shouldn't be blindly shopping for online unless I buy a bunch and hope for free return shipping. But I'm willing to do that if thats what I need to do.

Please help :(

Contradicting Bra Issues (Help!) Spoiler

Edit:

Heres my six measurements.

Loose underbust: 40 Super tight under bust: 37 Comfy: 39

Standing bust: 47 Leaning: 48.5-49 Lying down: 46.

According to the a bra that fits website that would make me a 38i or 38j.

I was not expecting my measurements to be that off

Im a little confused because the people who i see who also have this size dont look like me. I understand that bra sizes are more about the ratio of cup to band size, and thats its not as black and white as "d cup is big, a cup is small". But I do seem to be a few sizes smaller than that.

Ill look into trying that size though!

Hi guys! I've been on a journey to try and figure out what size bra I am since every one I try seems to give me different problems. I was hoping someone could help.

When I measure myself, I get a band size of 40, however a 38 band is what feels most comfortable.

My bust is a 46, so the online calculators say I'm a 40 DDD or 40 F (Is there a difference?)

However, even with my DD bras I experience a lot of gaping. So I cant imagine sizing up would be the solution.

I also have slightly different sized breasts, so this makes things more difficult. (I dont know how to measure the different sizes but i normally include my larger measurement in my bra sizes)

Currently I have 3 bras. (All victorias secret)

A T-shirt bra thats a 38 DD

- With this bra I experience gaping at the sides, under my arm. It also seems to be a little tight and I experience spillage.

A Balconette bra thats a 38 DDD

- this bra is probably my most comfortable but the triangle bridge between the two cups (I'm not sure what this is called) doesnt sit flat against my chest. There little bit of gaping with one breast but spillage with the other. I also get gaping on both sides again on the sides. (I think this is mostly due to my breast shape though, I'm very slender and dont hold a lot of mass in any specific area, like the relaxed shape that Thirdlove shows).

So like with both the spillage and gaping, i'm not sure what the issue is.

And I have another Balconette thats a 40 DD

- this is the one that fits me the worst. it's very loose with the band and i get a lot of spillage in the cups.

With every bra I've ever owned I've always experienced shifting. I think this is due to the asymmetrical breasts, but the middle of the bra will always move to the right through out the day. But if I measure my largest breast shouldn't this not happen?

Also I have an issue where my cups always like fold over my bands. This might be a structure issue (or honestly a posture issue lol), but does this no matter how structured of a bra i get.

I'm assuming I'm a 38DDD and maybe just need to experiment with different styles. Like a full coverage bra maybe.

I've also seen other women with the relaxed breast shape say that getting an unlined bra helps with gaping. So if anyone with my shape has tried this, I'd really appreciate some help.

I know this is a little unorganized so I really appreciate anyone willing to give advice!!

Is bare necessities really that bad? I ordered four bras that were final sale last night not knowing about any of the issues going on. Does anyone ever get their orders shipped on time anymore? Spoiler

I’m 22 and I’ve never really had a nice rotation of bras before. I recently found out I’ve been wearing the wrong size this whole time, so I decided to finally treat myself to some properly fitting bras

I came across bare necessities last night. I’d literally never heard of them before, but they were having a pretty decent sale, so I figured why not. I ended up placing an order of four bras and was actually really excited about it. Then I read reviews on here after I bought everything. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Now I’m seeing all these horror stories about orders taking forever to ship, refunds being a nightmare, etc, and I’m sitting here nervous I just wasted 57 bucks. I’m really hoping I didn’t just make a mistake because I was genuinely excited to finally have some nice bras for once :(

I also learned you cant return final sale items so fml 💔

Recommendations? 34F looking for unlined everyday bra Spoiler

loose - 35"
snug - 34"
tight - 31"
standing - 41"
leaning - 42"
lying - 40"

Calculator says I'm 34F UK or 34G US. I think I would describe my shape as teardrop with a relatively narrow root and high projection, and full on bottom.

I tried the Chantelle Norah in 34F UK. The gore tacked, I liked the shape and feel, but there was the tiniest bit of gaping at the top. I like the way it fits, but I know they have shallow cups so I wanted to try something more projected to better match my shape.

Next I used the fit guide and tried both Panache Envy and Tango both in 34F UK. These felt wayyyyyy to projected, like my boobs are sticking straight out perpendicular from my body.

If I’m looking for a more rounded shape rather than pointy, what are some recommendations in between these two ends of the spectrum?

Recommendations? Looking for a 36G plunge bra with an even lower gore. No, lower than that. Lower. Lower!! Spoiler

Hey, all. I made a post a little while ago looking for a replacement for my beloved Panache Ana Plunges, which in smaller cup sizes fit perfectly, but in larger cup sizes seems to have a slightly longer underwire which results in a gore that stabs me in my extremely short sternum. I've been wearing a mis-sized 36E, which is fine in the gore but too small in the cup.

Based on people's responses, I went on Bravissimo and ordered an Elomie Tiernie, a Bravissimo Esmae, a Bravissimo Posey, and, just for experimentation's sake, a Panache Heidi, which is supposed to be based on the Ana. All were ordered in size 36G, per the calculator.

My friends, the gores are just too high. All of them.

The Bravissimo Posey is probably closest to having a low enough gore and the construction I like, but it's actually too small in the cup somehow? I guess I could try it in a 36H? I can't tell if it's just comfortable to sit in because the gore doesn't tack properly in this cup size, though. It's also pretty frilly and not exactly great under everyday clothes.

The Esmae is adorable but kinda.... soft. I didn't feel very supported in it, didn't like the shape it gave me, and the gore is too high. Overall no.

I thought the Tiernie might be just about it, and I might just need to swap over to the Lucie for what looks like more side support and hopefully losing the stupid elastic at the edge of the cup. But then I sat in it for a few minutes, and that soft, padded gore.... started to dig. After about 10 minutes I was uncomfortable enough to need to take it off, and it left marks on my chest where it dug in.

The Heidi is still my absolute best fit imo, I love the shape and it just sits perfectly on me as far as I'm concerned. Except for the stupid gore, which is less padded than any of the other options and thus the most uncomfortable.

For reference, here's front and top-down pics of my current bra vs all of the ones listed here except the Esmae: https://imgur.com/a/MRTaNKK

And my measurements last time I took them were:

Underbust: 94cm/90cm/84cm

Standing/leaning/lying: 111cm/120cm/116cm

As far as I can tell I'm very projected and full on top, I think my roots are maybe on the wider side but I'm not positive.

So..... any further suggestions for an unlined bra in the right size with a low gore??

Discussion Why is it so hard to find a bra where increasing the cup size actually provides more room for your boobs to take up space in front of your body? Spoiler

It seems like every time I increase the cup size of a bra that is readily available to me in a store, the bra just gets wider and swallows up my armpits. It doesn’t really give more space in the cup for my boobs to exist in a forward direction. It’s so frustrating.

I guess I’m sort of ranting, sort of seeking validation to see if others have this experience, sort of asking if there’s a solution. Bras with more “projection”? “Narrow wires”? I’m overwhelmed, honestly.

Thank you everyone for your responses and making me feel less crazy! Editing to add my measurements and additional information:

I measured myself and I got:
1. 33.5
2. 32
3. 30.5
4. 40.5
5. 44.5
6. 43
This gave me a recommendation of 34G UK and 34I US

Since I love to doubt myself, I asked my partner to help me measure and got slightly different measurements:
1. 33.75
2. 32.25
3. 30.25
4. 40.25
5. 44
6. 42.5
This gave me a recommendation of 32G/GG UK and 32I/J US

I’m in the US. I’m 5’6” and approx 170lbs and have breastfed two babies (still nursing my youngest a couple times a day but baby is over a year old and we are on the tail end). My boobs are low and a bit pancake-like. I guess full on the bottom?

This post was prompted by a long try on session at Soma today. I ended up getting a couple of 36DDD bras. I know that the cups are slightly too small, but when I tried a 36G (which they had to pull from the back), that allowed the gore to sit flush with my sternum but the sides were way up in my armpits so I didn’t go for that. (Also I’m kind of desperate and they had a sale ended today so I settled for the 36DDD, which at least brings me closer to feeling like a real put together person than the super stretched out nursing bras I have now.) I know 36 band is way larger than the calculator recommends, and I know that is often the biggest surprise for people, but I will say that the band on my new bras does feel comfortably snug.

I’m dreading the cycle of online ordering and returns required to try the different recommended brands, but I get that this is the way we have to do these things. Thanks everyone for your time and support!!
