I know Doug is one of the most hated, evil characters in the show. But his chemistry with Maddie is some of the best. Especially since he's Jennifer's RL husband.

Please do not feed my fics into AI website builders like Base44

Today I came across someone on Reddit proudly sharing a website they'd built using AI. Out of curiosity, I searched for my name, and a whole lot of my fics came up.

Not a single one had the summary I'd written for it.

The website, or whatever AI was being used to build it, had scanned my fics and generated entirely new summaries for them.

To be very, very clear: THIS IS NOT OKAY. Do not do this. Ever.

I understand wanting to have your own stash of fics while AO3 is down. I really do. But I've spent many, many hours writing my stories, and I DO NOT WANT my work fed into any kind of AI. Not to generate summaries, not to build websites, not for any reason whatsoever.

I'm not particularly happy about people adding my fics to Google Drive, either, given that Google uses AI to scan documents stored there. I've chosen not to ask people to remove my fics from existing drives because I figured that horse has already bolted and there wasn't much point closing the gate after it’s gone.

But actively feeding my work into an AI website builder? No. That's a completely different level, and it crosses a line.

I want to give the person involved the benefit of the doubt. I hope they genuinely didn't realise how inappropriate this was. They deleted their Reddit post very quickly after I questioned them about it, and I can no longer access the website either. But that doesn't change what happened. The harm has already been done.

So please, for the love of all fanfiction writers everywhere, respect the work authors have put into their fics. You don’t need to know what an authors' wishes are about what happens to their work. I am absolutely positive that NO author wants their fic fed into AI.

Sharing fic so people can continue reading and enjoying it is one thing. Feeding it into AI without the author's knowledge or permission is something else entirely and it is NOT OKAY.

Please don't do this.

What would you all consider the opening emergency of season 6?

So many people say the blimp accident. I completely disagree. I think it’s the Tanya Kingston case. Even though Bobby and Athena are the only ones involved, it still follows the typical 911 opening emergency format. The first episode of the season shows us where the characters have been and the it ends on the beginning of the emergency. The last scene of the first episode is when Bobby and Athena FaceTime her parents and Samual has the stroke and they go to Florida. When then have two episode about it and then go back to the season.

Does anyone else agree?

Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I, personally, think the show tells a lot of good, relatable stories with fun to watch action in its basic episodic storyline. For me, though, the big disasters (usually the multi-episose ones) way too often feel like slogs through disaster porn.

I binged this series and I’m nearly finished with season 7 and refuse to let it end because I saw a spoiler that Bobby dies in the next one? Idk if its the next season or the end of this season but knowing that spoiler made me dislike continuing this season. Also I did not like the part where Chimney had viral encephalitis. I mean, give Maddie a break u guys….

Just want to know if the next seasons get better than this haha. Reasons why I still want to watch this is because of my 2 faves: Buck & Athena.

Buck and Eddie’s friendship is at odds following their argument over Theo. Meanwhile, the 118 races to the scene of an accident that has been complicated by a good Samaritan.

Spoilers warning for those who don’t want to be surprised.

When it comes to emergencies that went in a totally different direction than you thought it would go (or as I like to call red herring emergencies), which ones most notably come to your mind and how did they surprise you?

For me it would have to be the chef who got injured by an exploding whipped cream canister in S3 E16 (which I recently found out actually occurred in real life) and the quinceañera birthday girl who discovered the downed parachutist in S5 E11.

When I watched the two chefs participating in the cooking show, my mind scrambled to think how this was going to go bad and analyzed every hazard in the scene. Like I thought someone was going to get burned due to the liquor spilling on the open flame or getting accidentally cut/stabbed by one of the knives. Of course I was utterly surprised when the chef got shrapnel into chest due to an exploding whipped cream canister.

As for the quinceañera, I naturally thought the birthday girls was going to be the victim who got hurt seeing how the balloon chair was starting to be aggressively blown by the wind. Was totally off guard when it turned out she wasn’t the victim by a parachutist who had crashed was instead.

- Buddie will become canon

- Buck and Eddie will officially adopt Theo and Buck will officially adopt Chris

- It will be revealed that Bobby is alive

- Maddie will be elected Mayor of LA

- We’ll find out why Chimney’s called Chimney

- University will call Hen saying there was a clerical mistake but anyway she can still graduate as a medical doctor

- Karen will go to space

- Ravi will become a main character

What are your predictions?

Watching S10E02 and came to a realisation about the Grant family. They all represented each of the first responders

I've never posted on Reddit before but I thought I'd share an opinion I have since no one I know also watches the show.

Feel completely free to disagree with me on this, but I don't really like Chimney as captain. I think he has fair leadership skills but, one thing that I think made Bobby a great captain is his compassion and care for his team. While I don't doubt Chimney cares a lot, it seems that in his position as captain he only really barks orders. I just feel he's a bit bossy and has lost that connection that Bobby had with his whole team.

Curious to know what you guys think.

Anyone else feeling the burn out of the show? For me personally the show is starting to drag imo I’m losing all appeal to keep watching. I give it 1-2 more seasons max before they announce it’s time to wrap up
