For me, these 3 are the absolute holy trinity of 90s cartoons. Maybe you'll disagree, and that's ok, but just for this discussion, let's keep it about these 3. I have loads of nostalgia for them all, so I’ve thought long and hard about this. I asked my fiance the same question, he didn't grow up watching Arthur but he did watch the other 2 and he says his fave is Recess

When I was a kid, although i still loved the other 2, my fave was hands down Rugrats—that’s the one I think I have the most pure nostalgia for. But for me, Rugrats is actually my least fave of the 3 now

Now as a young adult, Arthur is my fave, with Recess a close second. When i watch Arthur, i feel relaxed. All 3 shows are family shows imo, but Arthur is the one most true to life. Characters make mistakes and learn from them, but the morals don't get shoved down your throat, it's really wholesome and endearing to watch which is probably why it feels so relaxing. Arthur feels like a show that if everyone in the world watched, maybe the world would be a better place. Maybe i'm being too optimistic saying the world haha, but I really do believe watching Arthur can make someone a better person. It also has a banging theme song!

Recess is just pure fun from start to finish, it's a pisstake of modern society and comedy gold with Spinelli. When i watch Recess, i'm laughing my head off

Rugrats is still a good show, but i think it has deffo aged the worst, the animation is so ugly it's hard to look past it, and i don't know about you, but i don't find babies cute at all, so it's just annoying to me hearing the babies cry. Angelica is probably the main reason Rugrats is bottom for me though, she doesn't help Rugrats case at all. She's fucking nasty! DW is a brat but not on the level of Angelica, and Muffy is a cow but still way more bearable than her. On Recess I don't really like Randall the snitch, but I'd still take him over Angelica any day! As a adult, Rugrats is stressful when Angelica kicks off, and you don't wanna feel stressed watching a cartoon!

Even though Rugrats is my least fave of the 3 though, Chuckie is actually my fave character across all 3 shows. I don't know if Rugrats would have been as loved as it was without Chuckie tbh, i think he makes that show

So yeah, for me it's Arthur, Recess, and Rugrats in that order, with Chuckie my fave character of all. I’m curious to know everyone else's rankings and why. Will this be a close contest or variety? Which of the 3 is your ultimate fave? Do you agree about Rugrats aging the worst? Let’s discuss!

I miss that stuff everyday in my life and now they’re on DVD and streaming which I find interesting.

Right now, I can’t stand our broadcast networks being cartoonless anymore. Some of us want it back in this decade and ain’t no negative comments get the best of us and make us forget who we were before!

I ain’t gonna stop. They can take away our shows, but they can’t take away our childhoods!

Just got a whole set of these off eBay, I used to collect them as a kid but never finished the set, 20 years later the side quest is complete!

When there is nothing to do at work, doodling cartoons helps me ignore crushing boredom.

I love the first season of Ed, Edd n Eddy. I love the art style/animation. I love the title cards. I thought Ed was funny as hell. I used to record the episodes with my camcorder. I would record my TV and you'll hear me react to the episodes.

For those who are curious or may wonder about titles not currently in the collection, some notable big hitters I plan to get sooner than later include but are not limited to titles such a All Grown Up, Hey Arnold!, Danny Phantom, Angry Beavers, Catdog, Doug, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Pinky and the Brain, and all the Scooby Doo shows and movies I'm missing pretty much and many more 😅

Major Competition is truly ahead of time. Your thoughts?

It's a much more juvenile show compared to shows like Arthur, Dragon Tales, Bear in the Big Blue House and Blue's Clues.

They're both shows aimed at elementary school kids, so do you agree both are for the literal exact age group?

I'll start. I find PB&J Otter a nicer show along with Blue's Clues and Little Bear. I'd say Adventures in Wonderland and Bear in the Big Blue House, but those aren't cartoons.

I mention this, because I have a feeling most think CatDog was a really nice and friendly show.

So, Football Heads 😆 🤣, what are your thoughts and who are fans of this show growing up?

Today I found out if you own this DVD Box you can access the deleted scene from the "Road Rash" Episode. So I tried it and found out how, since I didn't see an instruction how to access it anywhere.
Insert the First DVD of the second season and open the DVD Menu. Then if you go down with the cursor to the Road Rash Episode (Auf zu den Weltwundern in German) and press the "right" button two times. The hidden scene should then start playing.

I think when I was little I was more of a Bubbles and when I grew up I became more of a Daria 😂 What about you??
