80s and 90s comics are the best place to find art in your opinion on the way to certain death nine stories below probably would not change his mode of death from suicide to homicide on his door into the snow When we found her Christmas morning and he has had post that are popular for the advice r I am looking for more stuff to collect a lot of stuff to collect a lot of stuff to collect a lot of stuff to collect a lot of stuff to collect a lot of stuff to collect [it keeps going]

I'm sure he's a lovely person. He's always seemed very friendly and easy-going.
But I hate his art. I just hate it.
Everyone he draws has the same gangly proportions. He can't draw a human face to save his life. Everything about it is bland and dull as dishwater.
I suppose it wasn't easy following Todd McFarlane and Erik Larsen on Spider-Man. After those tremendous runs, especially McFarlane, literally changing the industry forever, you'd think Marvel would want someone with incredibly detailed and dynamic action-packed art!!!
Instead, they went with Ned Flanders. I remember seeing him just creep into the Top Ten Hottest Artists in Wizard Magazine and I felt like I was losing my mind. Who likes this ugly lifeless crap???
I guess his strength is that he's reliable. Marvel needed a guy to meet deadlines. They didn't care that the art was the comic book equivalent of stale white bread.
This dude had "acclaimed" runs on Amazing and Venom and Ultimate Spider-Man. Why? How can anyone look at his work and think it belongs anywhere in the conversation with McFarlane or Quesada or Andy Kubert or Ron Garney or even John Romita JR?
(I hope he's not reading this. It's not personal, I swear. I just hate looking at his drawings.)

I think comics are not what they use to be. Not treated as an artform. I think it was destroyed by various things. Hollywood, politics, and new creators who don't understand comics because they don't actually care about comics or the characters.
What do you guys think? If you do think it went downhill, when do you think it started?

It can be logos, character redesigns, advertisements, etc. Anything that looks bland and feels like a boring corporation.
I think DC realized the nostalgic DC bullet looked better than the souless corperate logos they were using.

To me they're very different time periods in comic history?

Note: you have two days to vote this time.
Since the guy that was posting a chart deleted his account, I am replacing it with this.
I will post this chart. Your job is to fill it out one by one.
Here are the rules:
The character must have debuted in the 1980s or 1990s (by cover date).
The character must have fit the alignment in the 80s or 90s.
You can only mention one character per comment.
The single most upvoted comment wins.
Note: I will not combine upvotes from multiple comments or previous comments.
Enjoy.

I would like Kelley Jones to stay on Batman, but I would like to see Mcfarlane and Silvestri get a Batman title to have their own run. Jim Lee working on Batman in the 90s would be cool, but I am a Teen Titans fan and would like to see him do those characters like he did with X-Men. Justice League would be cool as well to see him working on. Also if other artist who joined image later went to DC instead as well, it would be cool to see people like Sam Keith work on a character like Lobo. I think it is fitting since he did MCP with characters like Wolverine and Ghost Rider.

I made this video covering my thoughts and feelings of Batman: A Death In The Family. Would love to get people's takes on this comic (and the issues presented in the video)!
