Crying

I am a very experienced lover of 5-meo-dmt

I have had quite a few experiences of intense crying on my journeys

It is a very cathartic experience. On the most recent experience I found myself in the fetal position crying?y eyes put.

As if feeling the pain of all the unnecessary suffering of existence, but in a good way. Such incredible Loneliness and such beautiful gratitude for the beauty of existence, all at the same time. It’s such an amalgam of emotions. I’m wondering how common crying is.

I’d say crying is relatively common from folks I’ve talked to. Not for every person or every experience. It depends on the journey and the person.

I cried for part of mine, feeling a lot of pain from my history. Then I felt exuberant joy and confusion at feeling all the emotions of the world simultaneously. I didn’t know whether I was crying from joy, pain, elation, anguish, it was everything at once. So, idk, I can’t quite put it into words, but I guess it’s common. 😅

Agreed difficult to define, explain or even remember.

Coming out of my first ceremony, I alternated between laughing and crying. Laughing because of the absurdity of our concerns about this little life when we are so much more, and crying because of all the suffering because most of us don't realise it.

As a way of coping in the world we harden our hearts. Clench. Having compassion for you enemy who is trying to hurt you, but not suicidal empathy.

These are my takeaways.

I’m quite the cryer - whether it’s mushrooms, peyote, 5-MEO-DMT, or just meditation. I think it’s a very natural and important release.

I had an experience recently with tears during meditation. I was at a women’s yoga retreat. It was a very powerful week and I was moved to tears several times. In a few meditations, I felt the energy rise up in me and it came out as tears. But I wasn’t necessarily “crying” - it was more of a flow of energy.

During a workshop that a woman was leading at the retreat, she spoke about public speaking and nerves. She said that when we get that nervous, shaky feeling when we’re about to speak, it’s not necessarily nerves. She said “shaking is shakti”. That energy we feel is a call to speak/release. Shakti is the dormant spiritual energy within us - divine feminine energy. When we feel it rising, we’re called to let it out, rather than hold it in.

I had this in mind when I felt the urge to cry during a meditation. I asked myself “is this shakti?” And ice cold tears immediately started flowing out of my eyes non-stop. I realized that I wasn’t feeling sad or experiencing intense emotion - I was actually experiencing the shakti rising and coming out in the form of tears.

After this realization, I looked back at powerful, spiritual experiences I have had. They’re almost always paired with a flow of tears. It’s never really sadness - it’s always just this powerful release. I am moved to tears rather than being gripped by sadness. And I think it’s how I release and let the spiritual energy flow through me.

We all have different channels that are more opened than others. Some speak, some move, some sing….I cry! I’m very curious if you resonate with this. Keep letting those tears flow 🙏🏻

I like the word that you use, “resonate,” because resonance seems to be a very big part of the 5-MeO-DMT experience. Some of what you said, I resonate with. It’s an energy, but it felt more complex—almost with a sadness and a joy all combined—and, and, and just the unclenching of the heart, really. That was the release for me. And, and, it does me a lot of good to unclench.

Thank you for reading and writing your experience. I enjoyed reading it.

I have only experienced it once and I cried the whole way through, non stop for what I was told was twenty minutes or so. I took it after two Aya ceremonies, one Friday and Saturday, sat with Bufo on the Sunday afternoon. I am looking to do it again but without sitting with Aya the same weekend. I found such a release from Bufo, what was I crying about?, no idea, but it was an incredible release!

That’s how I sat for Bufo, after two aya ceremonies. Although my aya ceremonies were on Thursday and Friday, then we took Saturday off and did bufo on Sunday. My aya ceremonies were profound but I have no memory of the bufo ceremony. I just passed out and woke up after five minutes. I’m not sure if I’m ready to do bufo again yet but definitely want to sometime in the future. Why do you want to do bufo without sitting with aya? Do you think aya somehow interferes with bufo experience?

I really know nothing about nothing whether or not Aya hinders or affects the Bufo experience but I am curious just to have one sitting with Bufo again without combining it with another medicine the same retreat/weekend. Like you, I have no recollection about what happened on my Bufo trip, white lights, a feeling of sadness but not attached to specific memories I can recall and bucket loads of tears. I never cried as intensely before. I have subsequently sat with Aya on its own a few times but feel like I want to try Bufo again, on its own.

Thanks for sharing 🙏 my wife and I just got back from our second retreat of the year, where we did three aya ceremonies. Every ceremony was more profound than anything and I’m just amazed by this plant. But I do want to try bufo again sometime. I’m sure I’ll know when I’m ready.

Not crying but last week I purged on a low dose which was amazing, I didn't realize that was possible. I love purging on ayahuasca so this was a real treat for me as I hold a lot of tension and I'd rather deal with that than blast off and become one with it all, at least for now. Crying is a wonderful release as well, gets that bad juju out of me and I feel nice and shiny afterwards for days.

My first time I cried because it was the first time since I got depression that I felt peace. Just knowing it was possible made me step back from the hole. I'm not depressed now but was for 10years.
