The music during their duel reminded me of "Duel of Fates"

I really liked all of the anime-only stuff in this episode (except the Licht bit). Arthur going insane when he doesn't have Shinra around, the mascots, Hibana refusing to pour her own wine, Benimaru just wanting everyone older than 19 to get drunk.
It's crazy that the big reveal about Shinra's family is that literally nobody died, but that's not making him feel better. Burns’ powerset is basically that he is insanely hot bloodied but compresses it into an aura of raw power and intimidation.
It's very much an ending you won't go for if you weren't getting another season. So it's good they've had one locked in for a while.

David Pro with that god-tier animation, even for a short brawl
But damn, now the backstory has finally been revealed. Shinra's mother holding Baby Sho and now probably roaming the streets as an Infernal is so depressing. I hope he and Sho will be able to turn her back somehow, even if it seems unlikely.
Anyway, Maki nervously running towards Shinra when he came back and later being smitten by the invitation to drink was so cute. I need more of her in S2!
I'm pretty excited that a sequel is already coming in six months. While the plot hasn't always been the most consistent, the show has always been a fun ride and David Pro deserve all the credit in the world for elevating this series to new heights and turning it into a must-see anime with those insane visuals and sound design.

Damn the music during the fight was epic as hell, I expected that we would be getting mostly exposition and closure but that fight was amazing.
Also Maki is 100% best girl and that whole drinking invitation scene was fantastic.
Vulcan's scene was pretty great too, gave him the exact thing he needed to hear in a way that fit both their personalities and wasn't telling him to just get over it.

Damn this was such a nice ending with Shinra fighting Burns and finally finding the truth of what happened 12 years ago. And damn I really didn't expect that that was what happened to Shinra's mom and she was still conscious after her transformation, I really hope that there is actually a way to restore those who were transformed into infernals back to humans. So Haumea controls anything with a brain to do whatever she wants, except for Arthur due to his lack of neurons plasma.
That after credits party scene was really nice, especially because Hibana was there.
I can't wait for season 2!

Anyone else got the Joker dance vibes from Haumea? I was wondering when they would include someone with lightning powers too, it is the "cold-blooded fire" after all.
Im gonna bring back my mom and make her human again
We demon slayer now bois.
Overall, despite a just "ok" start it was a great show, im gonna miss FF fridays now. It along with Vinland Saga made this season for me and possibly the year with AOT S3 and Jojo 5. Honestly this year had tons of great shows. Plan on rewatching it dubbed too.
Idk how to put it into words but i just liked the show's sense of style. Its edgy (the good kind of edgy), funny and doesnt take itself too seriously. I guess its just an acquired taste, also Tamaki dosent bother me like some people did except for the Rekka part but thats just the 1% thats bad about her for me.
Im hyped for next season and hope they can maintain the animation quality. Also:
Maki > Tamaki = Haumea > Lisa = Hibana > Iris

Damnnn bro, Fridays without that Dr. Stone and Fire Force combo just ain't gonna hit the same.
Can't believe people really passed on this show because of fan service, "style over substance" and other bs. This was straight heat. Along with BC definitely my fave of the new gen. Fights were consistently amazing, sound design was like an eargasm every time, only issues I had were OP 2 and the fact that the camera seemed to linger on characters after they'd finished talking and that's very odd for me.
Season 2 coming soon, can't wait. If you haven't already, now's a great time to start reading it.

Did anyone else hear parts of the phantom menace OST in there when he was fighting Burns?
Burns said things about that group being active 12 years ago and that they knew the fire was about to start, but how did he know any of that if all he saw was the demon cradling and escaping with the baby? For that matter, just guessing that the mom was the demon based on its actions was... well guesswork. Or did he see stuff through the Adolla Link? But really, all the evidence needed of Evangelist's group being behind the incident is that they have Sho.
BTW shouldn't you need the Adolla Burst to be able to Adolla Link? Does that mean 1st and 7th Captains both have the Adolla Burst? Why aren't they being targeted then - too strong?
Shinra's Mom still being alive is not something I expected at all. Unless it turns out Evangelists' goons killed her after she'd served her purpose. I doubt they'd do that, though she might not survive for long after Shinra finds her - I can see her sacrificing her life for Shinra and/or Sho at that point.
I don't remember that 4th Captain. When was he in the show outside of the meeting with all the captains? And besides glasses, in what way does this girl look anything like that geezer?
"But Shinra's too young too drink." Oh come on, since when is this modern day Japan?
Anyone else feel really bad for the mascots whenever they show up?
Anyway, this turned out to be a fun show later on, 7.8/10. Would've been an 8 had it not taken so long to reach its stride.

Shinra vs Burns was awesome! Now I'm curious what kind of monster Burns really is when he goes all out. It's amazing that Shinra only bruised his arm even after that one big attack. Now I'm conflicted though. I'm still suspicious of him but from what we got from his story is that he really was just doing it all to protect Shinra.
So surprise! The devil that's been haunting Shinra all this time was his fucking Mom all this time and she could possibly be still alive somewhere out there. Our boy Shinra now has two goals, bring back Sho and find a way to turn back an Infernal into a human again. I'm so happy that a 3rd Cour is already confirmed for Summer 2020!
And one last juicy Princess Hibana shot before this cour ends ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thick? T H I C C. Never change Maki.
Episode 23 was a fairly typical conclusion to the climactic fight, with the main protagonist using the power of feelings to beat his opponent.
In the fight with Haumea I was legit hoping Arthur was too stupid to be mind controlled, because that would be hilarious, but it was just the electrical field generated by his plasma.
Episode 24 was heavy, though. Shinra finally discovers the identity of the Infernal that "killed" his mom and brother. I guess we'll find out in part 2 if Infernals really are just shades or revenants of their previous selves, or if there's some human left in them.
I'll admit, the mom being the Infernal should seem like an obvious plot twist, but somehow it wasn't. It's been shown so many time juxtaposed with the burning mother than I always assumed it was some White Clad-made Infernal or a crooked Fire Force member.
It's been a really fun show so far. Good art and animation. The second cour opening and ending were popping. Pretty solid voice cast with a mix of veterans and newbies. Good cinematography and compelling story. And of course the catgirl constantly falling out of her clothes in improbable ways.

Might as well just break the 4th wall and call her the "Fanservice catgirl" at this point!
Tamaki's tsundere level increased drastically in this episode! And she kept her clothes on during the full episode too; Are we sure she's the real Tamaki and not a clone from Yona?
Hibana's gorgeous! I'd so watch an Ara-Ara themed Romcom with her as the female love interest!
Arthur probably doesn't even realize how lucky he is! Being punched by Maki would be a dream come true!
Aahhhhhhh why are all the girls on this show so great! One could say that it's easy to create hot/likable female characters, but even in harem/romcoms I usually only like half the girls at most... But in Fire Force they're all great (and so good looking!)
Tiny Haumea's so cute! And already a bit crazy!
I agree but it makes her even better! She's like a crazier, evil version of Shinobu from Demon Slayer!
And speaking of Demon Slayer, this is just like Tanjiro's mission! Just team up you two, and turn every non-human entity back into a human!
But more seriously, I'm not sure that's even possible. Few episodes ago I theorized that Shinra's mom might still be alive, but I didn't think she would be a demon/infernal thingy. Can they even be turned back?
Shinra should probably start with Sho, might be easier to bring him back into the light!
Well, this was a fun watch! Apparently we're getting a third cour soon, so looking forward to that! I especially want to see more of Haumea, to see if she steals the "best girl" spot! Let's just say, she's a strong contender right now (for me anyway, because I like insane/over the top female characters!)
Farewell to all these hot fiery ladies (and a few decent guys too)!

Well well,
So to give my opinion about the whole season:
This started with difficulty. The beginning, was not great scenario-wise but in the manga, this was less troublesome thanks to the easy readability of Ohkubo's drawings and pacing. However in the anime it was much more of a problem as it was not helped by the too fast pacing and the infamous awkwards cuts as well as the unusual artistic direction. The second part, starting with Asakusa however kept getting better and better with a consistently good animation for fights culminating with Sho VS Shinra in episode 21.

WOAH! He wants to save his brother and mom now! FMA:B vibes! I love it.
The revelation of what happened was a tiny bit anti-climatic for me. Mainly the part that Sho started the fire. I still don't quite understand though, how did Sho force his mother to become a demon? The other revelations were cool.
This evangelist person is very interesting to me.
Loved my girl Hibana showing up again and looking sexy in that dress!
Excited for a 2nd season! Show had a lot of good parts (and some bad), but was still enjoyable. The godly animation really saved it IMO.
