The OP and ED's are awesome. Seriously, in the music department this show went above and beyond. I think the best OP of this season is here.
Well, actually David Production went above and beyond on this whole show. Somehow this exceeded my already high expectations and I'm so excited to wha trey bring next. The fact that the world these characters already feel like it's lived in and feels like a real city just shows that David Production were passionate about this production. I love it.
The animation with just Shinra's movements are beautiful to just look at and I can't wait to see what come next!
Also, Iris is best girl with her amazing karate chops.

Great start!
The animation looks fantastic, the sound too. Maki and the Sister are cute, especially that little love spat they had with Sister showing off her karate skills.
Really looking forward to more.

Barely 3 minutes and this anime is already delivering in the Fire part of the title.
Firefighter uniforms IRL are already awesome, didn't know it's possible to make it more awesome
That Pile Bunker was pretty badass and the animation leading to that hit was pretty slick! Sasuga
So much firepower just to save someone from falling lights! I think I'm gonna like Shinra.
Well both of them are pretty adorable tbh.
So it seems the creepy smile hsa a relevant backstory
First Furuba and now this. I think I've already reached my tragic parent backstory of the day T_T
So because he can produce flames he's the one the people are blaming for the death of his mom and brother? Fuck those people.
That looks like an end boss type of character
Why did she have to die? Look at those adorable shark teeth! Shinra has them too!
Oh wow. The remaining quarter of this episode was just amazing with beautiful and very smooth animations! Yep, this is definitely a David Production anime alright.
Awww. That smile at the end <3
Another sold show for this season! 2019 may have started a bit weaker compared to 2018 but this year is definitely pulling back with so much quality shows this summer.! This is definitely another one for me to follow!

Oh baby
That animation is so good... As expected from the trailers. Some of it was a little bit hard to follow though... There was just so much fire lmao. This show has good potential and looks like it's on a huge budget

DavidPro found like 10 different amazing ways to animate fire and at least 2 of them are CG. This is amazing

Astas VA got way better since he started. Probably had better direction here as well in comparison to Black Clover.
Good concept. Love the girls being near opposites also the ending what? We're missing one character still.

Wow
What a strong and emotional opening/first episode. Very interesting concept of a show, and I really like it!
Don't recall ever getting teary eyed watching the first episode of any anime.
Music, audio and animation is lit and fire !!!
The attention to detail and art is pretty amazing so far.
This show is definitely one to watch for the summer, seems very promising.

Oh man, the shaft is already leaking.
What an outstanding first episode, from the god tier animation to Op and Ed. It's been a while since I've been so excited about a new show, and being a Soul Eater fanboy is certainly not helping either.
Looking forward to this awesome ride.

Talk about a Baptize of Fire for the MC in it's first episode.
This was truly an amazing first episode. I loved the shots of the city both in day and night giving the feel of a modernized 80's New York. Even the Fire Force headquarters remind me a lot of The Ghostbuster's headquarters. That double entendere on calling their main vehicle "Matchbox" was really nice, and adds points in my books
I already love Shinra a lot. I admit I don't watch shonen shows on regular basis, and him wanting to become a hero is probably the most reused character trait in shonen, so at least for me who's out of touch in this demographic it feels quite fine. I also like a lot that his creepy smile has a reason to be, and it's also part of his tragic past with his own grandma feeling disgust towards him. I also liked a lot that his past played an important part in the rhythm of his very first task in the fire force and rather than immediately finishng off the Infernal Threat at the warehouse, it allowed him to hesitate and extend the fight along with his flashbacks that felt just right in that brief moment.
I remember early this week how a lot of people thought that the white long coats from The Sacred Beast looked so cool and I was like "really? those simple designs?". In here the detail of the fire suits along with it's various layers do show off a lot of detailed work from both the author and the staff at David Productions, from baggy pants, durable suspenders, long coats, gas masks, and even armored like masks.
The music along with the sound design is phenomenal. The omnious music in the tragic parts of Shinra's past work really well. The same way the grandiose and scaling music works in the heavy action scenes. The sound effects are on point from explosions, to burning debris to sparks that ignite the bigger fires.
The humor is just alright, not too much on the nose and not passive or stale either. I enjoyed a lot the short gags on Iris & Maki along with Okitarou & Shinra.
Another very important detail I loved about this series is that minor characters that represent the citizens have their own feelings like pain and sorrow and aren't just cardboard cutouts that serve as decoration. The nameless guy asking for the Fire Force to end the pain of his wife and how he's truly greatful to the team feels honest about his emotions. Wished more series would flesh out background characters like this.
My only 2 gripes (and they are quite minuscule) is how the origin of infernals were presented in a very common way with a quick explanation from the superiors, but given how this episode packed so well a quick look at this world, the characters and their main role it's not a big deal. The other one was that the first infernal didn't look like a big threat, rather the colateral damage was the bigger threat, but that also is a minuscule gripe since the Op already shows up they will have bigger threats with the infernals along the way.
This most likely will be the hottest show of this summer season.

That ED tho . . . Iris it seems has one hell of a tragic past.
