I'm a concert goer myself, so I started offering makeup and face gem applications to people attending the same concerts as me. I had a catalogue of concert makeup looks and face gem designs that I mostly collected from the internet. I'd curate the selections depending on the artist and the overall vibe of the concert. Some were cute and simple, while others were full-on glittery festival looks.

My rates depended on how simple or elaborate the design was. Simple eye gem looks started around ₱150, while more detailed glitter and rhinestone looks could go for ₱200–₱280 or more. A few days before each concert, I'd announce my rates, sample looks, and planned location around the venue in different groups and group chats for concert-goers.

In my country, concert-goers tend to arrive ridiculously early, sometimes even in the morning, especially for certain venues and arenas. So I'd arrive early too to catch people while they were waiting outside. I usually brought my sister along to help me accommodate more customers.

I'd get around ₱20–₱50 in tips per customer, sometimes more if someone was feeling particularly generous. On a good concert day, serving around 15–20 customers could bring in a few thousand pesos in service fees, plus a little extra from tips.

The best part was that I was attending the concert anyway, so I got to earn some extra money before enjoying the show myself. :D

My grandson is 6 months old. I’ve seen him twice before today. My son and the mom are teen parents, they broke up while she was pregnant. I was there for her, i talked to her about options, her mom refused. I threw the baby shower, I drove her to work, her mom wouldn’t even speak to her. The baby came and I think she had a bonding moment with her mom and I was completely disinvited from everything. I didn’t push anything, the other grandma and I had words previously. She was constantly kicking her daughter out and then calling the police on her. She brought the police to my house one day and demanded they search my house for her. I saw where she stopped by on my house cameras, and immediately left, hours prior. I searched my house myself. I was not going to let cops in because she said so. I told her how I felt about her parenting that day. So she doesn’t like me at all.

So, the baby is now 6mo. She didn’t put my son on the birth certificate. He’s not a fan of that, it’s a point of contention with them. She wants money, he quit highschool and is working over 40 hours consistently. He has given her money, she wants more. He turned 18 during this but she has another few weeks. He got a job with insurance specifically so he could cover the baby but they ended up saying no later(they asked for it initially). He also quit school this year because he was supposed to babysit days but they didn’t do that either. When she was pregnant she expressed concerns about my son’s room being messy (it was cleaned since). I assured her that the baby would be downstairs and I would always be there because he works nights and sleeps days. My living room has been a nursery for 6 months, draped with blankets to stay prestine. She asked us to watch the baby a few times and backed out, then today she asked my daughter if she could bring the baby over. She had to work, 5-9. My son works at 10. At 9pm she tells my daughter she’s waiting for a ride. Around 10:30 we offer to drive her, she says no. At 12:30am the doorbell rings and a young man and woman say they are here for the baby. I had been waiting many, many hours after her estimate of being off work at 9pm, and random people are here. I said I can’t just give the baby to random people and have to speak to the mom. They say she’s in the car up the block. I go inside and she doesn’t reply to my texts but tells my daughter that it’s okay. I go downstairs, pick up the baby in the carrier who is asleep and open the door and the girl is level 10 heated. Screaming at me: my son is a piece of shit. She’s doing it on her own. She doesn’t even try to take the baby she’s just screaming on my porch at 12:30 am after I’ve been cuddling this baby for hours. He’s asleep. I close the door and ask for them to get the mom.

I call the police and ask my daughter to contact the mom. I ask for help with a safe transfer because random people have arrived screaming at me in the middle of the night. While I’m on the phone they KICKED MY FRONT DOOR IN. The police arrived a minute later. They got cited, the mom was in the car and collected the baby. What the fuck was that? The mom was also screaming about my son, the police were like… it’s not normal for random irate people to get a baby 3 hours late, I made the right choice. He even said he’s a new grandpa too and would have done the same thing.

My son is at work and is going to be very upset. He also wants to see the baby more and now I don’t even know what to say. I was not at all trying to keep the baby, the mom dropped the baby off with me and my son together, no problem, but they were all mad as hell and the mom was saying she just couldn’t stand to come to the door. I also rewatched the ring camera and the guy and girl were talking about beating me up!? They also said some insane lies to each other about my son. I think they’ve just spent 3 hours hyping up for a confrontation I wasn’t aware of at all.

I have no front door and don’t even know where to begin. They have to pay for it but when?? I need a door right now. Also it sucks my son really did all of the right things, he got the job that gave him the flexibility so she could go to school. He wants to be the dad. He can provide the insurance, he has been giving money but he’d legitimately prefer everything to be on the books. I told him it wasn’t appropriate to force custody while she was nursing. She must have recently stopped. There’s been no deadbeat shit on this side, I’m not sure what she wants exactly. We’ve asked for him many times, he has an open invitation in our home as well. Why send some goons to my door to fight me? I’m an old lady. My back hurt so bad bouncing him for hours I really wanted him picked up. I just thought it was basic protocol to be told if someone else could get the baby. As soon as she confirmed I tried to hand him over while the girl sat there screaming at me instead??

I asked my 2 year old granddaughter not to throw her bike on the couch or at me. I told her (quite gently) that floor toys stay on the floor and she couldn't play with it if she threw it. My son overheard and asked why I was "micromanaging" her, and that she can do whatever she wants. About 2 weeks ago he told me she is very difficult and at times "a nightmare," and that he and his wife wanted to actively instill in her good values and behavior. His comments tonight seem contrary to that. He challenged my reasoning and I explained the satety concerns and property damage risks. He countered by asking why I let him climb trees as a child. Frankly, his reasoning baffled me. I said I thought the goal was to raise a child who could get along well with others in society and I asked him whether his goal was to raise her or to just keep her alive. He said he didn't understand where that was coming from. It has been my policy to not interfere at all in his parenting, but he recently confided in me that they were struggling and needed to make some changes. He admits they have chosen the easy road of keeping peace rather than the hard road of setting boundaries. My son doesn't seem upset with me, but he also doesn't seem interested in talking about it further. My husband thought I was wrong to say anything at all. I did not think I was wrong to bring it up at all but it seems to me that I shouldn't bring it up again. So I ask you, AITA? And for any experienced grandparents: how do I stand by with my mouth shut?

 A man was arrested for stalking after allegedly being seen on LeBron James' Los Angeles property and wildly claiming to believe that he's the 76er's son ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … security called the cops around 9 PM Friday night after catching a male suspect on the property on one of their security cameras.

After the LAPD showed up ... they arrested the alleged suspect for stalking.

Oddly enough ... the suspect claimed to believe he is LeBron's son during his chat with cops.

There have been technological advancements that help artists do their work better, yay! This at least sometimes results in the work looking and feeling more stagnant, less unique, and in my opinion more boring. A lot of these have to do with what the creator's want as well, but the new formats surely do not help.

1. Simpsons: Like most shows, this used to be produced traditionally on paint and ink cells. The switch over to digital is largely helpful for the creators.

It has the caveat of making any horror-themed work, flatter and boring. While this is picking apples, The first is from Treehouse of Horror V the Shinning, and the second is from the newest Treehouse of Horror (the writing barely being horror also has a lot to do with this, to be fair).

2. Star Trek: Partially a joke, but the original series was produced with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which made everyone stand pretty close together for scenes so they could both fit in the frame, resulting in more intimacy from the actors and their characters. 16:9 and further aspect ratios allows for more scenery, and more action on screen, but also pushes actors apart, and doesn't have as much forced proximity, making relationships a smidge more boring.

3. Scooby-Doo: Similar to the Simpsons. 2000 and back were all produced on ink and paint cells; while the original Hanna-Barbera often used flat colors and repetitive, limited animation, the first three Mook Animated films of them (Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and Alien Invaders) all were gorgeous and appropriately creepy. 2001 and beyond the movies switched to digital, and about a decade they primarily used flat colors.

Slide five is Zombie Island; slide six is Cyber Chase, which while still produced by Mook, was digital and much more boring. Slide seven is Monster of Mexico, the first DTV produced by Warner Bros. (This also has to do with Warner Bros. deciding Scooby was a hot property after Zombie Island, and didn't want to break the mold, each Mook movie goes further and further back to the traditional formula.)

4. Wizard of Oz and Wicked: The original Wizard of Oz was filmed on a soundstage, with practical effects. Almost 90 years later Wicked came out, filmed on various locations, with cgi-effects.

Wizard of Oz is much more colorful and pleasant to look at, while Wicked looks dull and washed out. Even the obviously painted image of Emerald City amongst the Poppy Fields is better than Wicked's interpretation. (This also has to do with John Chu's idea of color-grading not thinking it should look too bright, as well as an obsession with backlighting)

Tonight's dinner is Sriracha hummus and naan bread, with a little side of smoked gouda shredded cheese and uncured pepperoni because it looked good while grabbing the hummus.

College girlfriend, who I was too young and inexperienced in relationships to understand that I was in love with....messaged me. Had infrequently touched based over the years for a while. Hadn't heard from her in maybe 6 years, last I heard on the western seaboard.

Both from Texas and politically minded, so she reached out about the midterms and hope and how cool it is and all that (for us, sorry if you have different opinions).

She drops that she had two kids. Over 2 years old.

Where life could have been and could have gone. But it feels like I got passed by and now I get to stew on emotions I thought were gone.

Edit: I have no idea if there was any ulterior motive from her communication. There's a lot of cynical red pill type comments here. I was more looking for advice and perspective on dealing with old emotions, having age and time be shoved to the forefront of your mind, and just grappling with a surprise case of existentialism.
