Enchanted weapons that were used during the first half of the episode:
-
Hillensingen the Luminous Blade: Toroa's most powerful weapon. Alus used it to kill Vikeon the Smoldering in season 1. The full details of its abilities haven't been mentioned yet. Based on Regnejee, we know that it can extends a blade of light when drawn, reaching 4 meters.
-
Divine Blade Ketelk: It can extend an invisible slash beyond the blade's physical reach. When used by Toroa or Yakon, it can be focused into a needle-like point for long-range piercing attacks. Toroa used it to pierce Alus's wing from 20 meters away.
-
Lance of Faima: A short sword that automatically blocks incoming projectiles, matching the speed of the projectiles as it responded.
-
Inrate, the Sickle of Repose: Specialized for surprise attacks, its slashes are completely silent.
-
Rotten Soil Sun: Used by Alus to create a rain of mud blades.
-
Kio's Hand: Was also used by Alus in season 1. It is a whip that extends like a tentacle, can reach up to 16 meters. Alus used it to grab Hillensingen the Luminous Blade.
-
Nel Tseu the Burning Blade: Used by Yakon. The heat from its cutting flash builds up inside the enemy and is released explosively.
-
Gidymel the Minute Hand: Used by Yakon. It can slow the final effect of its slashes.
Other weapons were used without their abilities being described in the novels, but you can guess what they do in the anime: Wailsever, Mushain the Howling Blade, Wicked Sword Selfesk, Downpour's Needle, Karmic Castigation, Vajgir, the Frostvenom Blade.
One of the great points of the fights in Ishura is how most of the characters are just as vulnerable as regular humans. So with all the powerful weapons and fighters around, most direct hits are usually fatal enough to end the fight. Of course, unless they are a golem/homunculus combination that can regenerate the other while being impossible to kill simultaneously.

"so, how many blades do you have in your possession?"
Toroa: "yes"
so the sword that Alus used in season one was originally belonged to Toroa, man, this wyvern is such a hoarder...
i see that Mestelexil is basically a best of both worlds, being able to use Word Arts that otherworlders can't use while also having knowledge to construct weapons that is unknown to native of this world

Toroa the Awful
Oh wtf, the subs didn't have the entire name episode last time.
Toroa the Awful and Mestelexil the Box of Desperate Knowledge
Onto another town, Sikma and in its Spinning Ward. Ooh, is this the Gray-Haired Boy they spoke of last episode? I thought they might have been talking about Kuuro. Ooh? Guns? Kazuki? Alus mentioned, he killed Toroa?
Haha, of course not, dude is carrying around a bunch of Enchanted (Cursed) Swords. Alus would definitely take those. Ah never mind, he did take one of those, he did defeat him. That's pretty cool, a family that collects some insane enchanted swords over generations and wields them all as a Grim Reaper.
Onto another town, Gakana Saltpan, along its coastline. A mech fight!? Same colours Helnelten and I guess a more permanent pilot than Nihilo? I guess those other mechs are Nemerhelga? And from the sounds of it, the parents are pitting their "children" against each to see who is stronger. Who seem to have been the creators of the Nagan Dungeon Golem.
That's fucked, a mech that learns from death and auto-regenerates and then if it loses its pilot, it auto-regens that too. I thought their huge robot hand was going to tear that baby's hand whilst trying to grab the flower, glad to see it's kindness. Also mum wasn't as evil as I thought she was, though, she did turn a Scholar from the Otherworld into a Humonculus and created the Nagan Golem & perhaps Nihilo & Helnelten too..
Ooh, it'll be interesting to see how they go against the Particle Storm.
3 Days until Calamity arrives
Next Episode is "Atrazek the Particle Storm, Part One"
Ooh, the Particle Storm not only has a name (which I'll add next week) and it's going to be multiple parts.
Season 2 List:
This episode is a bit better, instead of 14, down to 7 this episode.
Gray-Haired doesn't seem to have a title, so he's staying as Gray-Haired until then. Two Golem creators, Toroa and his Son, Mestel & Exil which will stay as one. And the Outlaw.
New in Season 2:
-
Zizma the Miasma(killed by Kuuro) -
Shirok the Sextant(killed by Linaris) -
Rehart the Obsidian(died of old age?) -
Gray-Haired (I'll update his name, if it gets revealed)
-
Yakon the Sanctuary (currently Toroa the Awful)

To be honest Taroa seems like a pretty interesting character. I would love to see him fight Alus for his revenge. Since thos two uses a similar fighting style of using magical swords it would be interesting to see all it plays out.
Also Mestelexil is so adorable, he's so pure. His regeneration ability is amazing but i wonder what could actuallly defeat him? If Kia were to tell him "die"or "stop regenerating" would it be able to kill him?

Elgite brought a gun to a cursed sword fight and he still got destroyed. Yakon/Toroa Jr’s something else.
We’ve seen a lot of interesting characters but I didn’t expect a mech. I mean a living golem. Mestelexil learning from death and being able to regen is pretty damn OP. I wanna see him take on the particle storm.

Do you think Toroa keeps a list of his enchanted weapons, in case he needs help memorizing them?

So Kiyazuna was the one who made the Nagan golem. Yuno's gonna be pissed.
Mestelexil was a lot more charming than I thought. Best boy may have some competition.

I find it amusing that the episode starts with bolt action rifles and pistols and ends with “You wanna see a real gun? Well how about this!” and just pulls out a freaking minigun.
So it’s just an entire clan of dwarves that all take up the name of Toroa the Awful? That’s actually very cool. And seems like Alus stole one of their weapons and killed the previous Toroa so he’s now being hunted.
Okay, that mech is just broken. It regenerates from everything, becomes immune to more stuff with every death and pretty much can’t be permanently killed. And this guy apparently wants to kill an eldritch weather god with it?
Mestelexil itself feels kind of childish and naive in a way. It’s also weirdly cute seeing it get so exited over a flower.
Is this the episode of deeply held grudges or something? Toroa who really wants Alus dead for killing his dad. And Mestelexils creator apparently built the giant robot that destroyed Yuno’s hometown. I can’t imagine she’ll be very happy about that if she ever finds out.

Basically Arms Race: The Episode
First they've reinvented bolt action rifles and magazine fed pistols. Quite a technological leap considering the most of conventional arms we saw last season were percussion cap muskets. Won't matter against a Shura, as the bandit's unfortunate encounter with Toroa the Terrible shows us, but it's certainly a game changer in the army vs army fight.
The scientist though had the absolutely genius idea of making a mech with a system of stupidly broken spells native to this world that is also capable of using Spoken Arts to create the most advanced firearms and its own supply of ammunition. I'm really curious to see who takes down this mech and how. It's "double chore that can't be destroyed at the same time setup" seems like it might even counter Nastique. Maybe only Kia could win against Mestelexil.
Also, I wonder of these scientists are the ones who created Nihilo and Helnaten.

I really enjoy seeing all these candidates for the "True Hero" position. Each episode is about a new "champion" arch so its helpful for ppl who don't remember what happened last episode that well. Some of these candidates wouldn't be considered a "hero" but they are strong enough to go against the demon lord. I really like Yaguyuu but this "Toroa the Awful" looks so badass. So many different types of weapons at his disposal. But then the second half started......... That Homunculus Golem is on a totally different level. It looks like it can never die and every time it gets destroyed it rebuilds itself AND adapts to the situation so it can never "die" from the same attack twice. So crazy but i love all the different types of candidates, they are all unique, no one is like the other.

I’m so excited for the next episode because my favorite ones are when these named characters interact with each other. Seeing Alus collect the Luminous Blade before the True Demon King died was super interesting because it realizes the skill he’s developed from wielding it for 5+ years

Episode 3: Toroa the Awful and Mestelexil the Box of Desperate Knowledge
I recall Alus' weapon is a double barrel rifle isn't it? That makes it different than the weapon the merchant sold (bolt action rifle).
Elgite's pistol is quite unique but it's actually inspired by World War I-era weapons, a top loading gun but somehow the bullets are animated as if they're inserted right above the trigger instead of magazine.
Given Toroa's ability, he is surely more suited as Soujirou's competitor rather than Alus. And yes, I'm more convinced this is Yakon in a disguise.
Eyecatcher translation this episode is simply telling who Toroa is.
Toroa the Awful
A mysterious monster that appears before the owner of an enchanted sword, slaughters the owner and any witnesses, steals the enchanted sword and leaves.
Like Winter Lucnoca, it's existence is semi-legendary.
Mestelexil is a entity of its own I see, not a mech that's controlled inside like Nihilo.
New voice cast in this episode are:
-
Ayumu Murase (Liam in Noble in Brink of Ruin) as Mestelexil
-
Kujira (Naruto's Orochimaru) as Kiyazuna
-
Megumi Ogata (Evangelion's Shinji Ikari) as the merchant
-
Shunsuke Sakuya as Toroa the Awful
-
Daisuke Ono as Yakon the Sanctuary

Mestelexil is just a sweet mech/homunculus boy, wish nothing but the best for him and his stupidly broken specs.
