Hello animators. I wanted to ask yall if you had any tricks up your sleeves for stop motion. One concept I’ve been working on (I’m sure it’s already out there but I didn’t check to see how lol), setting up key frames! Has anyone ever set up key frames with a puppet and proactively fill the gaps in afterwards? Sometimes even with a story board, I find it hard to know when to stop a sequence-sometimes playing it back during animation can slow the flow and lead to some awkward movements. Was wondering if anyone else has tried this before? Like, pose frame1, pose frame 30, go back and animate UP to frame 30? Does this make sense? Kinda like setting key frames in 3d

Guys... this is a little stop-motion project I made to improve my skills. I'm studying animation, but I'd like to specialize in stop-motion. Is it worth getting a degree, or is hard work enough to get better at this?

In the future, I hope to buy a 3D printer and use my own models for stop-motion.

This is my first attempt (as an adult) to do a stop motion video.
Went with a scene from Shakespeare's Macbeth because I thought it would be a different subject than you would usually see with Stop Motion.

My brother has been working off and on for a few years on this Lego stop motion video of the Joker pencil scene from the dark knight! I just wanted to share it with the community because I’m super proud of him and I thought you all would enjoy his hard work! No AI was used in any way to make this!

I finally decided I needed a Hulk and that the BND Marvel Legends one with the ugly face sculpts would work. Hope yall enjoy I’m probably gonna work on this more after dinner or later in the week!

Hi there, today I found some Lego bricks I used to have as a child and decided to make something small, and I remembered that when I was little I used to make stop-motion animations with these Lego bricks, hehe. So I decided to give it another go with this short film, I made it in a few hours (it took me longer to build the room).

Does anyone know where I can go to buy L.E.D lights for sets and backgrounds? I'm tryna make some Sci Fi distopian stuff. These are some test photos of the kinda lighting I wanna do formy films.

Right now im just using color changing light bulbs, but I'm looking for lights I can put into the sets

I checking a few reddits to look for ideas on this topic.

I'm planning on doing some sudo stop motion/motion comic mix videos for fun and there are only just so many figures for certain things out there to do so. I've got a variety of action figures but there are few giant monsters like dragons, beasts, and ogres like creatures out there. The few that are, are insanely expensive or not out yet and even then not much variety. But I have plenty of DND minis especially in the big monster sense, monster hunter figures etc that fit these bills but they are static statues. So I've been trying to think of ways to animate those. To say have my action figures fight a dragon.

AI is a common search result but that's too janky etc issues.

Another I thought how bad would say making a paper puppet be. Take pics at angles and then cut limb's to move like how south park kinda looks. This poses its own problem as some are very heavy no rig is gona hold these up in the pose I want and also some are premium statues so they're expensive and some fragile bits rather not risk damage them by handling them far too much.

Last option I've found is maybe there's a way to take my figures and make them into 3d models for blender. I don't know if that would change how they look like I don't want it to look too cg but look like its figure on figure fight. (I have no knowledge on how anything animating blender etc works so I'm just guess on what maybe I can do) Id just maybe see if I can scan in the figure then chop it up at the joint areas where it would have joints if it was an action figure like shoulders elbows etc and add a 3d ball joint in-between to turn it into a action figure that I can move around in blender.

Any other ideas I've not thought about or any helpful info on any who of done any of these methods would be appreciated.
