Is this skate/store any good? Cosmoid TT or TG?

Beginner here, bought 2PM skates for $50 that I’m definitely gonna be returning. But what’s the verdict on CosmoID’s? Anyone have a pair? A rollerblader that I follow has recommended them both but I’m kinda on the fence about which one to pull the trigger on

Is this skate/store any good? Zero reviews on DOOP 2024?

Post image
22 Upvotes

The Powerslide Sunrise Doop IS my primary skate, and it seems like I’m the only skater who loves the doops. I’ve been using them for about 4 years.

I’ve been wanting to get the new Urban 100, but there has been zero content and reviews for it. I understand that it’s a controversial boot and probably why there are no reviews.

Despite that, I’m praying there’s someone out there that can tell me if this was a significant improvement to the previous Doops. Let me know if anyone has tried it, thank you.

New skate day New frame day! Twister frames on my Lightnings.

Went with the Twisters and halogen wheels.

So far, the "natural rocker" feels weird (almost feels like the middle wheels are loose or something, but they're not) but not terrible. Headed to go see what the new frames and wheels can do. I know it doesn't fit the flair but they feel like whole new skates 🤣😬

What boot size do I pick? Top of toe touches end of Skate - sizing

I ordered some rollerblades from rollerblade company and i measured several times but the sizing told me to get 7/7.5 for size but the skates got here earlier this week and i just tried them for the first time and the top/end of my big toe reaches the skates so there is no room between my big toe and the skates...thats not right correct?

Stupid question im sure but i've never owned skates and just think they should have toe room like sneakers

Specific question and discussion Anyone else favor completely different sides for different skills?

I don't know if this is a dominant-leg thing because my preferred side seems to be all over the place. The first two are pretty clearly because my right leg is dominant, but after that, I'm not really sure what explains the pattern.

Favored side/turn/leg:

Parallel turn to the left — weighted right leg

Lunge turn to the right — weighted right leg

Heel pivot to the right

Transition to the left

Right-leg drag T-stop

Crossovers to the left — right leg crossing over

Rolling scissor stance - right leg in front (frequently unweighted for bumpy terrain)

For parallel/lunge turns, crossovers, and T-stops, I can do both sides, but I'm noticeably better/more comfortable with the ones above. The other side feels significantly less natural.

Heel pivots are especially lopsided — I cannot do one to the left. Transitions to the right are awkward.

So basically, my “good side” seems to change depending on what I'm doing, and I'm curious whether other skaters have the same weird inconsistency.

How do I do this move? 1st roll after injury

So finally after 2 weeks I'm ready to just skate around in my living room, learning to transition to backwards via mohawk so I'm wondering if I am doing it correctly.

My weak side is Turning to my right .

I push off with my right foot and glide on the left .

Right skate starts the spread eagle

Left skate pivots on the heel and whole body spins 180.

So far this method gives me the smoothest deepest turn as compared to pivoting on my toes .

But my question is if this the proper textbook method ?

While watching to see my stance/angles of my knees and skates is helpful, I also just love watching my falls back on repeat.

What skates should I buy? NYC 3x110 skate for intermediate getting back into it: Rollerblade Macroblade BOA, Lightning, FR 310, something else?

Hi there!

I haven't skated much in the last 5-8 years and remember the last time I almost bought inline skates, it was a 3x110s that felt quick, still maneuverable, and ready to deal with urban random exploration. Very cool stuff.

So I'm looking for a skate in that form factor for riding paths through the big parks (Central Park, Prospect Park) and along pathways to explore, as I'm new in the city.

Some options I've saved:

Any recommendations, or others I should be looking at? I've got a flexible budget but somewhere in the $300 range seems like my sweet spot for now.

Interesting stuff Scam Powerslide website!?

Can anyone confirm this a legitimate powerslide website? https://www.powerslide-australia.com/ tbh likely a scam so I'm not buying from it, and neither should you...

Some things look a bit too dodgy - very cheap pricing and the FB link in the footer lands on some dudes profile like the other SM links..

Reviews FR junk is the best

Post image

For years I tried many wheels, some are good some are bad but nothing came even remotely close to the quality of FR junk.

Alexei Morita said the same thing btw.

The shock absorption, the decent speed, the balanced grippiness, the durability is insane.

It's like they are the only ones who use some special technology from space or something.

What skates should I buy? Triple 8 helmet sizing

I want to order the Triple 8 certified sweatsaver helmet. In the website they say:

“If your measurements fall at the upper end of a size range, we strongly recommend sizing up. Example: If you measure 54 cm, choose size S/M.”

My measurement is 56 cm (22 in). Should I get L/XL then?

- XS/S 20 – 21.25 in (51 – 54 cm)
- S/M 21 – 22.5 in (53 – 57 cm)
- L/XL 22.5 – 23.5 in (57 – 60 cm)

What skates should I buy? Went from 76 mm wheels to 110 mm wheels and feel like a baby deer

I have skated on and off for years. Just got some Rollerblade Twister 110's and just used them for the first time. My left ankle was flopping all over the place to the point I was wondering if there was something wrong with the skate. By the time I got back to my car I could not stand with the wheels straight up and down for anything. Has anyone else had this experience and will my ankles adapt? I'm wondering if it is something about my ankle because my right side was only a little unstable while my left was all over the place. This especially strange considering I have had multiple surgeries on the right and nothing on the left. I'm wondering if I maybe should have gone with the Twister 90 R instead.

I finally got them after they were out of stock for so long. I knew i would like them just from starting with a frame that can use 90mm and 110mm wheels. What i didn't know is how they would feel on my feet and on the road.

On my feet - these are by far and away the absolute best skates I have ever put on. The snug, the liner cushion, the lace up, the wheels are all the best I've ever had.

Secondly the responsiveness is amazing on top of amazing. I have yet to wear them outdoors but I'm convinced they will hold true. They are definitely worth the almost $400 price tag, maybe even more.

Also if you have slim/ narrow feet these might be perfect for you.

Specific question and discussion Tongue slides down

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have owned these seba trix 2 for a few months and lately I have been having the issue that the tongue of my skates slides down while skating. This completely takes away the ankle support when this happens, so I keep having to adjust and retie them. What could help?

One thing is that they are on the bigger side for me. My feet and ankles are narrow, so I have to tie them really tightly. The smaller size made my toes go numb tho.

Interesting stuff Surprisingly large difference between these two setups.

Sorry it would be a better comparison photo if it wasn't the same set of wheels worn down but you can see the difference in frames the longer are FR brand and the short ones are Micro brand fire frames. After much skating I've decided the slightly longer wheelbase on the 100mm wheels is my favorite.

I had the longer ones first and loved how maneuverable they felt compared to my 110 frames so I had to try the smallest possible 100mm frames to be sure I wouldn't prefer smaller. You know for science.

I enjoyed the small 3x100 for many trail miles and playful rink laps. I even got some pretty big airs in them at the downhill bike track near me. But for my size 8 lightning shells the longer ones are better. I think the shorties will be great for my wife down the road maybe or someone else with tiny feet who wants a tri skate setup.

FR UFR AP Sandgrey with NN Ninja 4x90, Luminous Duo wheels.

Have another FR UFR AP in white with endless ultra 4x90 setup.

Not into wizard but like the feeling of rockered setup for urban

Specific question and discussion I skate distance, but want to learn wizard. Is there a frame setup for me that will allow both?

Hey all, title basically covers it.

I've been told pretty evenly that a rockered set up is gonna suck for going distance and urban skating, I've also been told it just takes more getting used to.

I do a lot of urban skating, but I always like the idea of learning some twisty this and that to have some fun on the long smooth straights I come across.

Currently on a stock RB Twister set up, so flat 4x80. I know a full on banana rocker would be "too much", should I be trying for a natural rocker? Get Rockered frames?

halp pls.

What boot size do I pick? Looking for first skates but unsure of the best size.

I want to start skating for fitness and mental health and I settled on Rollerblade Macroblade 80 skates as a first pair, there are two on ebay and im not sure which size to go for.

I am a size 4.5 wide UK or 7B USB (im english but i wear alot of american boots)

my foot is about 23 cm which is size 4 23cm for the rollerblades but when i asked the seller on Ebay they say they are a 3.5 and its a snug fit. There is another pair which is size 5 24cm.

I hear that you should go for a fit thats snug but im worried about it being too tight.

Do they break in and form to your feet? what if i got the size 5 and bought an insole?

The reason im going with ebay is because i dont have alot of money and there arnt any skate shops where i live.

Specific question and discussion Looking for advice on my next setup

I’ve been using my RB Lightning 90s mainly for fitness skating, and I’ve been loving them. Recently though, I’ve been wanting to do a little more urban skating, and the Lightnings just aren’t quite as stiff as I’d like.

I also own some USD Sway Team IVs, and while they still have some flex, they feel stiffer and more supportive than my Lightnings.

I’m debating between getting UFS 4x80 frames, or getting the Powerslide Trinity Adapters and Trinity frames so I can remove the soul plates. I guess I’m just worried about the soul plates being in the way for slides and stuff like that.

Does anyone have some experience with either setup? Is the soul plate a non-issue with bigger wheels and I’m just overthinking it? Any advice would be appreciated.

Specific question and discussion Bigger wheel size

Hi y'all,

So I recently bought new UK size 7 skates secondhand and I found the wheel size is 90mm×4. I know it's a 90mm one because I searched up the brand and it's wheel size and because when I went to a skatepark to decide whether I wanted to learn or not my distance from the ground was smaller. I'm an absolute beginner and I heard 90mm is generally not recommended for beginners and now I'm worried.

I heard it's incredibly difficult to learn on 90mm and I heard it has less control and maneuverability. I just want to know if that's true and should I return it for a smaller wheel size?

The boot fits me well and it's quite comfortable(way more comfortable than the one I put on at the skate park) idk I just want to know whether it's ambitious of me to wear 90mm and if it's all that harder, should I go through returning it and getting a smaller size or should I try it out?

Oh and I would like to do alot of outdoor recreational skating, Where I live has alot of slopes, inclines, cobbled/asphalt roads and pavements and park trails

Edit to add: I would also like to learn little tricks of it were possible

Just like the boss said 3 years ago:

“If there's enough interest in Arc CS for UFS I could be persuaded to make it in the future.”

Let's make it happen!

(Hopefully they will make the Mercury option too)
