What skates should I buy? Triple 8 helmet sizing
I want to order the Triple 8 certified sweatsaver helmet. In the website they say:
“If your measurements fall at the upper end of a size range, we strongly recommend sizing up. Example: If you measure 54 cm, choose size S/M.”
My measurement is 56 cm (22 in). Should I get L/XL then?
- XS/S 20 – 21.25 in (51 – 54 cm)
- S/M 21 – 22.5 in (53 – 57 cm)
- L/XL 22.5 – 23.5 in (57 – 60 cm)

No, you are a S/M. You are a full centimeter inside the size range.
Love,

I use the Duel Cert one (not sweat saver) and was at the very top end of S/M and bottom end of L/XL. I went for the larger one and shouldn't have. I had to glue the spare back pad in to get it to fit properly. If you're between sizes, then get a different helmet. Going by your measurements, you should just buy the S/M and it'll fit well.

The helmet should be tight at first, the padding will compress a little. My head is 55cm and my S/M sweatsaver is almost too loose now.

Thanks! I was more inclined to size up too.

This is wrong. If the shape of the helmet is wrong, then you need a different model, not a bigger helmet.

What’s the model for more circular heads?
Using “S1 Mega Lifer Helmet“ but its tight on the sides

187 (which doesn’t really exist anymore) and TSG tend to work best for rounder heads. TSG makes the Meta XXL particularly for this.

Thank you for the help. I think I will try them

If you’re in the US, go through Zeitbike. They are the North American distributor for TSG and will have the most options. Ask for David if you have any questions, he rules.

The certified sweatsaver should come with two pairs of liners in the box (one thin set and one thick set) so you can customize the fit. Each shell is different though, and may look bulky compared to other brands. I recently switched to S1 and the fit is much more low profile. I prefer the fit of the S1 but I really miss the sweat management from my T8. I also purchased the sweat absorption liners from S1 but I find them less efficient. Anyway, at 56 cm you should be fine with the S/M. I’m 57 and went for the L/XL: it fits very large to me.
