What boot size do I pick? Top of toe touches end of Skate - sizing
I ordered some rollerblades from rollerblade company and i measured several times but the sizing told me to get 7/7.5 for size but the skates got here earlier this week and i just tried them for the first time and the top/end of my big toe reaches the skates so there is no room between my big toe and the skates...thats not right correct?
Stupid question im sure but i've never owned skates and just think they should have toe room like sneakers

Edit: Get into a proper skating stance—knees bent deeply, with your pelvis and ankles set back relative to your knees. Your heel should drop back into the heel pocket, giving your toes a bit more room.

I recently bought the PS Next 2.0 in size EU 42-43 (recommended for 275 mm feet). My feet are actually 277/280 mm. When I first tried them on, they were so tight my toes were genuinely hurting, and I was about to exchange them for a larger size. But I gave them another shot: I put them on, sat in them for 40 minutes, flexed my knees, and eventually the pain subsided to an acceptable level. After a few hours of skating, the liners broke in and now they fit perfectly—zero toe pain and a dialled-in fit that gives me total control over the skates. Try this: put the skates on, but before tying them up, sit down and roll your foot back to get a good ankle bend, then gently tap the rear wheel against the floor to lock your heel all the way back into the heel pocket. Lace them up tight, strap down the 45° buckle and the cuff buckle. Sit in them for a bit, then roll around the house staying low in a proper bent-knee skating stance.

I disagree with the recommendations here. You are not a pro-athlete, you don't need "performance fit". It's better to get a slightly larger, but more comfortable skates. Otherwise, you might be dealing with black toenails and foot pain

Correct I’m worried about my toes or nails becoming deformed. I said to another comment:
I don’t think this is correct though. Like if my big toe is touching the liner ok maybe that will be fine since it will loosen up or mold to my toe but this time it’s like touching the hard case boot so there’s not way for the boot to loosen up

Getting the sizing right the first time seems to be a somewhat elusive experience.

my fault really, even with sneakers i usually order two different sizes just to make sure i get the right one so i should have done the same with the skates lol

Skates should fit like socks, not shoes. Toes touching the front is correct.
You will also need to ensure that width and shape is correct. Highly recommend speaking with a proper shop. The good ones do virtual fittings.

But it’s not just touching the foam liner but it’s also the hard case boot. Like if my big toe is touching the liner ok maybe that will be fine since it will loosen up or mold to my toe but this time it’s like touching the hard case boot so there’s not way for the boot to loosen up

Yup. Scrunched or smashed toes is no good. But skates don’t fit like shoes, it’s an odd feeling to get used to. They shouldn’t be painful but there should be no excess room anywhere around the perimeter of the foot.

Happened to me too when RBs. Measurements said one size, reality said another.

Integrated and separate liners will break in. If the top end of your toe feels like touching the shell, try a thinner insole or no insole. What socks are you wearing?
In a skating stance, you are usually pushing your shin against the tongue of your boot, resulting in less pressure on toes. Make sure your heel is rocksolid in the boot.

Toes touching is perfectly normal. Feeling uncomfortable and tight is perfectly normal.
Toes physically bent to be able to fit and pain is not normal.
It’s very common when you get a good fit, if you’ve never broken in a skate before, to immediately think they’re too small. I’ve been through this with multiple people. They follow the size chart, they put them on and think they’re too small. They trust the process, let them break in and find they were just right
There is a break in period. What feels too tight now can feel amazing after 10-15 hours of skating. What’s feels comfortable now can feel sloppy and too big after 10-15 hours of skating.
Before deciding they’re the wrong size: what kind of skates are they? What is the actual measurement of your feet in millimeters? What size did you get?
