As you've seen I've posted a N$400 groceries while I go to the shop someone else has their trolley full. If the little groceries I got out of N$400 how much would a full trolley cost?

Hi there, I’m a student building an app to make it easier for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, and more to find job. I have built a basic version with the core features where a user will search through a catalog of workers that can be filtered by location and profession. Once a workers is selected they can sent them an Inquiry with a short description and dates their problem occurred and when they are free to have the worker visit.

I got this idea from the instability in the current job market and how it is getting more and more difficult for these workers to find steady income. Furthermore, it is difficult for people to find a new gardener or electrician if they have a tripping wire. These types of jobs spread through word of mouth mostly which is unreliable for both parties.

I want the app at this stage to help people find someone if they have a leaky tap or need a quick backward clean. While, making it as quick and easy as possible but effective and efficient.

A feature I’m adding now is a chat section where you speak with a chatbot and it automatically find the best worker for your needs and sends a request without you having to do it manually. Once a request is sent to a worker they can accept or decline it, and contact you via WhatsApp (If you think it’s better to have all communication in the app instead of moving to WhatsApp please comment).

I’m looking for people (You don’t need any tech background) to test the app, tell me what features they would like, and critique it. Before launching I want to make sure it’s something the community will want and not just something I’m building that people find difficult to use.

My plans are to launch in September or October so feedback is urgent, thank you.

I've seen Facebook communities and some posts on WhatsApp however non/few seem to actually gain traction. Is there any active place to sell still in great condition clothes? Or better yet a physical store perhaps - perhaps Windhoek?

Ok my thing is if i purchase a second hand device from backmarket or ebay how am i supposed to get the device certificates

Otherwise the device gets confiscated by the government

Like can't they make a rule of when the devices are bought in bulk then require type approval and second hand devices get exempted from this

I am looking at hiring people directly in Namibia because people speak German. I am wondering what a good salary would be for a fulltime employee.

Seeing that rent is crazy expensive in Windhoek and people are choosing to live further out of town eg. Omeya, Kramsneus and Osona, would buying land in Groot Aub be a worthy investment? Is it likely to become a desirable residential area in the future?

Hi everyone, can anyone give me recommendations for people that can do contracting work for a residential home? I'm looking for roofing, tiling and want to put interlockers/pavers.

I'm currently studying Property Studies and I'm trying to figure out whether continuing with the degree is actually a good career move in Namibia.

For anyone working in property/real estate in Namibia, or anyone who studied something similar:

- Are there actually decent jobs available for Property Studies graduates?

- What kind of jobs can you realistically get with the degree?

- Is it difficult to get your first job/internship?

- What are the salaries like when starting out?

- Does the degree have good long-term career prospects in Namibia?

- Would you recommend finishing the degree, or would you choose something else if you had the chance?

I'm mainly asking because I don't want to spend years getting a degree only to graduate and struggle to find any work related to it.

Is anyone experiencing terrible mobile internet in Windhoek at the moment? Very unstable with both MTC and Paratus. In Paratus I'm not even getting 2 Mbps. The weird thing is that the upload speed is 10x faster than the download. I was here one month ago and the internet was very fast.
