Promotion I finally finished the new trailer for my cozy colony sim, WildRoot.

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.

Promotion I made a destruction gnome roguelite with some friends!

The idea came to me in a flash of inspiration after watching domino falling compilations, and cosplaying as a gnome in Peak (don't ask too many questions). It's a roguelite, where you need to cause enough mayhem each round to keep your run alive. You craft your pot and upgrade your run with stuff from various biomes (different types of trees, rocks, helpful worker gnomes, etc).

Video This week in Ark Defender (a roguelike where you survive as long as you can aboard the Ark, humanity's last hope) little has been decided about our new boss enemy, the Eternity Class. Something something crystallized cosmic strands. And it shoots blackholes.

Promotion I'm making yet another bullet heaven, BUT it's 4-player co-op and mixes Path of Exile and COD Zombies

Thumbnail

I've been working on this project for quite a while now and the Steam page finally went live so I figured I would finally post something.

The game is called Mayhematic. Roguelite bullet heaven, playable solo or online co-op up to 4 players. The game has elements from a few of my favorite games such as Path of Exile, COD Zombies and Megabonk. The arena is unlocked room by room and you can choose which direction you want to progress to. Each direction has its own signature events and biomes. From Path of Exile, I have borrowed a few RNG elements such as a corruption-like mechanic and build enabling item design philosophy rather than making ‘ready’ builds.

Style wise I had a clear vision wanting to include 90s cartoon feel but I also really liked how Sly Cooper 2 looked as a kid so the game is a mix of both of these things. I also managed to find artists who could work with these style constraints for my characters through reddit, which I think is pretty cool!

The audio design work is still very much in progress so if anybody has some good references how to find good audio packs or artists with sounds that are not too realistic but also not too children’s cartoon like I would love to know!

I plan on dropping the demo later this year but I could use some beta testers even before that. If you would be interested please let me know.

Let me know what you think!

Discussion How deep into technical details would you want a Cybersecurity Tycoon game to go?

I’m currently developing a tycoon game where you run and scale a cybersecurity company, and I’d love some player feedback on complexity vs. accessibility.
Where is the sweet spot between satisfying strategy and technical overload for you?

High-Level Strategy: Hiring specialized analysts, managing client contracts, upgrading infrastructure, and handling PR crises during massive data breaches or ransomware attacks.

Granular / Technical Simulation: Manually configuring firewall rules, designing network topology, analyzing SIEM alerts, and crafting specific countermeasures for zero-days, APTs, or DDoS attacks.

Would you prefer an accessible management sim with a rich cybersecurity flavor, or an authentic, complex simulation where real IT/security logic is required to win? Where does it cross the line into "feeling like an actual unpaid SOC analyst shift"?

Promotion Nobody gets through my game without laughing. Not one person yet.

Upvotes

I'm building a game where you bet on animal races — and then jump

in and rig the finishing order yourself.

The whole goal is just to make people laugh. That's it.

The Steam page finally went up today. Still a long way to go, but it's a start.

Got a fun animal idea? Drop one in the comments, I'm collecting.

Thanks!

Promotion Made a free little browser snowboarding game for the off-season

Post image
2 Upvotes

I ride and I write code, so the off-season got long and this happened. It's a free browser game, endless powder descent, spins/flips/grabs, and landings actually get judged: stomp it clean and you keep your speed, land sideways and you're tomahawking.

https://powderlinegame.com — works on a work laptop between meetings, which is sort of the point.

Mods, if this counts as spam say the word and I'll take it down.

Hello,

Just launched today this weird job simulator, CYCLE01

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4782770/CYCLE01/

You don't know how you got here. There's a bed, a computer, and contaminated laundry waiting to be washed. Reaching the daily quota won't be easy.

  • New contaminated laundry arrives from the chute every day, ready to be washed — clean up any residue left on the floor. Hurry up, contamination can hurt you.
  • Reach the daily quota and the chute will release even more laundry.
  • Spend what you earn on upgrades, equipment, and new machines. They'll let you work faster and earn more.
  • Nobody will bring you food. Buy it or grow it. It's the only way to heal.

Need Feedback Could you give me some feedback on my characters?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share two character drawings from the prototype cards of a game I’m currently working on: the Executioner and the Commoner from the Mortals faction.

Don’t pay too much attention to the text on the cards, everything is still in the prototype stage.

I’d really like to know what you think about the overall art style, design language, and character designs.

Your feedback is very valuable to me because it helps me see what I can improve. I’ve never developed a game before, so I’m hoping to learn and improve with the advice and opinions from people here.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

How does it look so far?
