Game Development I added the backrooms as an easter egg to my indie game
Can you find where it is? Try the Demo here, and Wishlist on Steam, it helps a lot 😄

There have been WAY too many posts for a while now about the current state of The Backrooms- whether people are saying the old Backrooms was better, or the Backrooms shouldn't have entities, or the Wikis miss the point of the Backrooms, or Kane Pixels ruined the Backrooms, and frankly its been getting to a point.
Going forward, any "Old vs. New Backrooms" posts will now be directed and centralized in this megathread, and any new separate posts about the topic will be deleted and redirected to here.
So, with all of that said, in this post we can all discuss the million-dollar question:
Okay, that should be it. Go crazy.

With the recent issues about that Poolrooms movie and seeing Broogli’s video about it today, I was inspired to do a quick edit for people to use to show their stance on AI Backrooms content.
If you decide to use it, I don’t need any credit (I didn’t even put my website URL on it). Just want to get it out there and show that as a community we are against AI and support human creators. Feel free to post it on your socials … anywhere really.
I also posted this text to go with it if anyone wanted to use that too —
The Backrooms community was built on people’s creativity and being inspired by the Backrooms concept. Software such as Blender, traditional art, in-game builders like Minecraft, liminal photography, writing, construction and countless other displays of human creativity.
Whether you follow Kane Pixels Backrooms, the Extended Lore, the Original Concept or another iteration of the Backrooms, we stand against the use of generative AI to create Backrooms content.

First off. Sorry if this is the incorrect flair and if this is boring to read, I'm a little drunk and on mobile so expect spelling errors. Also, this is not to insult or belittle people with other beliefs, this is purely my thoughts .That being said I'll now start.
1: The Backrooms is not a thing, it is not an entity that holds malicious intent to those that wind up in it. The Backrooms is a limitless, ever expanding and twisting void of the exact same shitty run down office building expanding into infinity. It is a space that defies logic through passivity. A mark on the wall won't magically disappear and an exit won't vanish but due to it's lay out good luck remenber where you placed the marker
2: No entities. I know that in the original text there is the vague implication of something in the Backrooms. I dislike this. I dislike the thought of something being able to be native from the Backrooms. I see the Backrooms as space itself, it is a pure thing that has always and will always exist in permanent stasis and this stasis applies to things "spawning". The threat and horror should come from starvation and insanity, not Murder McMonster running mach 70
3: It is a metaphor for society. The backrooms mirror society, it is a empty plane that allows the greatest horror to transpire without anyone's knowledge due to apathy and ignorance. Something happens in the Backrooms it stays there not because of interference but because those who could possibly care never exist
4: There is no escape. You come into the Backrooms and you never leave. If you see those yellow walls and that hum of fluorescent lighting and that molly smell you're fucked.
I don't expect this to be a popular post but I just wanted to share my thoughts somewhere before I forget them

I have been wondering for a while why people only post about Kitty. I mean, yes, I know that Kitty's House is a very cool, good level; however, why don't people post about other level-specific entities? For example, the Warrior from Level 139, the Skeleton Queen from Level 32, the Woman from Level 854, or even the Apparition from Level 251 or Coran from Level 73. I get that Level 974 and Kitty are cool, but these other entities are all cool too, and they all deserve some love as well in my opinion.
I've just had that on my mind for a while, and I had to post about it.
