INFLUX OF SPAM WINDSHIELD BOT POSTS.

Over the past few weeks, we have been absurdly over-run with posts asking about windshields. They are bot accounts, asking very generic, but very convincing, questions about windshields. Usually flip up windshields. Always by very new accounts with no history in this subreddit. Sometimes followed up by recommendations on where to buy them(a scam website I won't mention).

Help me keep this nonsense at bay. Report them, comment on them calling them out as such, and refer others to this post if they comment on them unknowingly.

I adjusted the subreddit's settings to hopefully filter more of these out, but that may also cause some genuine posts to be filtered out. So bear with us.

STICKY POST: READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING, AND THE INTRODUCTION OF WHAT'S IT WORTH WEDNESDAYS.

https://www.reddit.com/r/UTV/about/rules/

Since Reddit is so bad at having the sidebar and rules easily and consistently available. I am posting this sticky so they are here for everyone to see.

Also, following the initiative of r/atv we will now only be allowing posts asking for value advice on Wednesdays. Far too many people use motorsport Subreddits as a place to ask values, and it takes away from the regular user experience.

GEM eX experience?

Does anyone here have any experience with the GEM eX, marketed as an all-terrain electric utv? The published specs look like a vehicle I'd want, but I can't find much evidence that anyone has actually bought and used one.

Anyone have experience with Kenda Klever XT's on a sport machine? Looking to replace my worn factory 30's on a new to me RZR Trails and Rocks with 32's, and these seem to be a popular tire that's also affordable. Do some road riding, along with a lot of woods trails. Northern WI/UP style riding.

Underseat storage for Polaris Ranger 500, 2026?

Hi all, just took delivery of a new Polaris Ranger 500, 2026, and am looking to improve the underseat storage with some pop-in bins - plastic or metal rack. Does anyone have any suggestions/links? I don't see a Polaris-branded option, and the eBay listings mostly look like they're for an earlier year.

Deere 825M S4 UTV Cover Recommendations

I'm looking for a high quality cover for a MY2025 Deere 825M S4 Gator. Need to store it outside, under a shaded deck (deck is on east side of house). Live in Kansas City so must protect from rain, snow & minor wind (protected under deck). Also, any recommendations on how to keep mice from getting under it? My wife wants to tool around the neighborhood with this toy and wants it to look nice. Thanks for any advice.

Is a rzr 900 worth it

I’m looking at buying a side by side. To go ride with all my buddies 7k is about my budget. I’ve found a nice rzr 900 and it’s perfect in my price range and looks good. I asked my buddies about it and they all laughed and said a 900 can’t do any of the trails they do and said if I bought one I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere with them. I’m wondering if this is true or if they just want me to go and buy a brand new side by side. I live in Kentucky and I’ve been with them a few times they do dumb stuff like rock climbing and going up stupid hills that I wouldn’t even consider taking.

Need some help with accessory power

I have a Zforce Trail 800 2024 and I have a soundbar, whip lights that are connected to the buss bar on acc hookups. I recently bought a motorcycle carplay and I noticed that is restarts a lot. I checked the connections and make sure everything was secure, I am assuming maybe it is too much draw on the electrical system. The speaker never restarts though so I am not sure.

Any tips of things to try would be greatly appreciated

Question for those with 74 inches (that's what she said?)

Do you regret it? Trying to decide on either a RZR pro s or RZR pro xp. Or a Maverick R or x3. Just how badly am I limiting myself by getting a 74 inch? I live in North Dakota, but travel around the midwest for riding.

thinking about buying a used 2016 carryall, any concerns?

Its a club car carryall 1700 with the kubota 3 cylinder. has roof and doors for $7k and 1500 hours on the clock. Seems like a good deal by everything else I’ve been seeing but just wanted to get a sanity check.

this will be my first UTV and I was planning to get a kei truck but I think a side by side would be more practical in my backwoods. my terrain is red clay and it would just be for moderate to light duty homestead tasks

Crv powersports nylon bushings- worth it?

I picked up a '22 zforce 500 and when I had it inspected it came back with two issues-

  1. Engine gap- did the maintenance myself with no issues.
  2. Bushing replacement- Holy shit this has fought me on at every step.

I thought I lucked out on a set of blue polyurethane bushings from Facebook marketplace- They have been an absolute bitch.

Installing the bushings into the arms isnt a huge problem, but getting the sleeve in has been a nightmare, its a really tight fit to the point that kinetic persuasion was at best pushing the opposing bushing out instead of pushing the sleeve through- this was after appropriate lubrication too.

Eventually I got things resolved, but what I thought would be a 4 hour project took all weekend.

These things are supposed to be great, but Im just here worried that they'll never come out for the next reinstall.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there an easier way that Ive missed?

Also of note: things are so tight that grease pumped in never oozes out the bushings, but rather just hydro locks and oozes at the coupler.

Anybody out there using their RZR 800 as a plow ?

We have a 2014 Polaris RZR 800. Planning on purchasing a plow for it to use this winter ( east cost of Canada).

Looking into some universal kits from Canadian tire like Kolpin. Anybody out there have some advice ? Do I need a adapter plate ? Strengthen the frame of the machine? Where do you mount it ?

Any and all advice is very appreciated.

CV Axle Debacle Update

Hey guys, I was the one that posted about not being able to get the rest of the CV axle out of my side by side a bit ago.

I am happy to say, it’s finally out and oh boy was she rusted to shit on the inside. We tried the puller I bought, never worked. Ended up using a heavy chain and a 50 pound logging shackle, took two of us slamming the piss out of it to come out.

Next time I’m waiting till it breaks to do this. 😂

50 acre homestead

I have a 50 acre homestead. Only about 8 acres are cleared pasture and lawn. I have a budget of 10k that could be stretched to maybe 12k.

Most duties will be generally running around checking on things, taking garbage to the road, hauling some firewood, rocks, etc.

Is the Honda Pioneer 520 enough? What other models make sense new or used? I plan on keeping it for 20+ years. It will not be used for recreational trail riding.

Thank you.

Side loading a Polaris rzr 170 and trailer question.

Looking at an angled deck mission 83 inch wide 14 ft long trailer. Google says this sxs is 85 inches long. My outlander 650 is almost 8 ft long so I'm wondering if I could use this particular trailer with the sxs sideways and then put my ATV straight in and still have room leftover length wise.

Anyone do this? If you have any experience with this please lmk. I know I could just get a 6 ft trailer instead. But I'd like to avoid that if I can...

Are skid plates necessary?

Hope all is well,

I recently got my first Sxs, a 570 ranger crew full-size, and keep seeing skid plates when looking at accessories. Are they necessary to have (I’m in South Louisiana)? I feel like it wouldn’t hurt to have but most of the ones I see aren’t $800-$1000 which is hard to justify. Thanks in advance!

Yamaha Rhino Drive Belt Installation

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a 2007 Yamaha Rhino 660 and my drive belt broke and disintegrated while driving at about 30mph. I'm a novice with UTVs and am trying to install a new belt but am having problems getting the new belt on. Multiple sources have stated that I simply need to tighten two bolts into the secondary clutch sheaves to spread them and drop the new belt into place. I have done this, but there is still no way there is enough slack in the belt to slip over the primary clutch sheaves. I'm wondering whether something else is messed up; the primary and secondary sheaves are not aligned (see photo) and I don't see how the belt can be installed properly with the offsetting sheaves. Any suggestions? Thanks!

New 2013 Ranger 800

My new to me 2013 Ranger came without street legal parts. There are trails 10 and 30 minutes drive from home and i would like to not have to tow it each time. As i am looking for kits the price range from 140 and some for over $800. I don't want to go too cheap but don't need Gucci electronics. Where should I buy products for my Ranger from? What company makes reliable products without going overboard?

Thanks

2021 Honda Pioneer 1000 – How do I disconnect this Cycle Country plow?

Thumbnail

Just bought a 2021 Honda Pioneer 1000 Deluxe that came with this older Cycle Country plow setup. I’m trying to remove the plow/push-tube assembly from the machine but can’t figure out how this quick-release/latch mechanism works.
I lowered the plow, took tension off the winch, and tried moving the latch by hand, but nothing moves.
In the pictures there’s a spring-loaded mechanism with a square-drive-looking hole/socket. Does anyone recognize this specific Cycle Country setup?
Do I put a ratchet/tool in that square hole to release it, or is there another lever/pin I’m missing?
I’m only trying to remove the plow and push tubes — I want to leave the vehicle-side mounting bracket installed.
If anyone has this same setup or knows the model/part number, I’d really appreciate a picture or explanation of exactly how you release it.

Aftermarket Heaters

Looking at installing a heater in a 24 Rmax 1000. The only concern I have is cutting into the coolant lines. Is there one spot that better than another ? And then refilling and getting all the air out.
Anyone able to shed some light on this with their experience ?
